A typical Chinese bakery except they serve a lot of dimsum dishes. I tried the chicken rice roll and it was okay! Not amazing but honestly not bad considering it came from a bakery. I also tried a coconut sponge cake. It was less cakey but almost like a marshmallow. It was light and fluffy with a slight coconut taste. I really enjoyed it. I think the prices are very fair too. I took a look at the other pastries and they were all reasonably priced. I would try some of the other cakes to see how they taste next time. read more

This is my go too bakery on 8th avenue mainly due to convenience. I like their buns and snacks, but the service could be a lot better. There are no lines, everyone just walks up to the counter and starts telling the ladies what they want regardless of who was there first. And the lady who works there always prioritizes the customers who do speak Chinese, Mandarin. I told what I wanted and as soon as someone else shows up speaking in mandarin, they put my items to the side and serviced him instead, even though I was about to pay. I ended up waiting for 3 mandarin speakers who arrived after me to be serviced, pay, and leave despite being there first, just to pay and have the lady servicing me forget an item. From then on, I've started visiting the new bakery across the street. Tl;dr - bad service for people who don't speak mandarin, I only visit due to convenience, buns taste like buns you could purchase anywhere. read more

This bakery is the life of breakfast for me. I been going here for coffee milk tea buns and sparerib rices. They have a lot to offer and is always busy. Ladies are quick in there and have microphone at cash register. Lines move quick and they call " next " from all directions so stay alert. read more

I wouldn't usually write reviews on Chinese bakeries bc I find most of them to be very standard and all the same overall. But Good View really stands out!!! I didn't realize it until after buying bread and rolled rice noodles from other bakeries that Good View makes such quality food. All Chinese breads are usually fast and cheap. But Good View's breads are stuffed to the brim with filling!!! I feel like that's so rare to find bc breads are usually 90% bread. My favorites are the custard, red bean and chicken cutlet. I don't even usually enjoy red bean but their fillings also seem to be made in-house and it's never too sweet. (Not that thick premade paste) Their rolled rice noodles are also really good bc they're super tender yet fluffy!!! So many filling options too. read more

This place can get busy, but for good reason! You'll see some mini-buses parked out front, and drivers taking a smoke break and picking up breakfast here in the morning. If you want the full gamut of their offerings, get their early. They sell buns, of course, but also dim sum and small rice dishes! Picked up a bunch of dim sum - shumai, dumplings, turnip cakes, chicken feet, and tofu skin rolls. All pretty solid. Obviously not as good as a dedicated restaurant, but they definitely hold their own (especially if you're really craving it). Their buns are also good. The egg custards are good, as well as their sesame balls. The rice dishes are just fine. Pretty no-frills. You can get spare ribs over rice, but that's literally all it is. No veggies or egg. read more

love this place for breakfast ! they work fast and they speak so many langs in hrre ! they make rice rolls , sandwiches , baked goods and a ton of drinks ! very good breakfast and lunch opt. read more

Super carb overload here for such a low price, so many good pastries and small eats to choose from, it is really difficult to pass this bakery! You really have to look past the line that should form to the back of the bakery and loop around, but you will occasionally find grannies cutting in, what can you do? Don't let it get to you. There are so many flaky pastries here and they really excel at making them because they don't skimp out on materials. Everything is baked fresh on the premises and I absolutely love the fact that you can order rice noodles and they will make it fresh as you order! A few of the favorites? Talk about a cheap $2 milk tea with pearls that is made with half and half to give you an extra sweet kick. You really can't beat that price anymore! Pair it with 90 cent egg tart that is super fluffy, a perfect combo of sweet and savory! Looking for something salty? How about a 90 cents shrimp and pork dumpling that is made with glutinous wrap fried to perfection? Something more filling? Go for their rice noodle where you can pair with a handful of ingredients and they steam it to perfection! No chances of any tough noodles in my meal. Last signature item is the spam egg toast, a classic for any Cantonese breakfast or lunch or snack food paired with butter! read more

I believe this place is now called Good View Bakery since I go here pretty often when I go to Brooklyn. But this place has the BEST DIM SUM EVER!!! The dim sum here is even better than the dim sum they serve in restaurants and I am not exaggerating. This is a very busy bakery and they have a large menu! The service is not so great but the food totally makes it up for it! Must order food (will have picture) -Spare ribs on noodles -chicken feet -Shu mai -har gao -green chive dumplings -shrimp noodles -spare ribs on rice with egg and cabbage -egg tart -lemon honey tea (not food but this is so refreshing to drink!) To be honest, any dim sum you order is probably good! May not be the cleanest place but the food here is so bomb! read more

I ran across Blue Sky Bakery in Brooklyn. I tried the marble pound cake for $3 for an ENTIRE LOAF! Not one piece.....an entire loaf of pound cake. It was yummy too. The last me about 2 weeks if not more. I froze part of it! They serve food at this bakery too. Fresh Rice Noodle Rolls are made to order the way you want them at anytime. AWESOME! I gotta come back for some fresh Rice Noodle Rolls. They have an extensive food menu here which I have to try. Wings, noodles, etc. Looks good here. They got an all important "A" rating too. read more

This is my first time leave a bad review on Yelp. I WOULD NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! Even this one star is too much for this place. There is one lady there has the most nasty attitude I've ever seen. She took the one dollar I gave by mistaking my order. When she redid the order she didn't give that one dollar back and insisted that she did give it to me! I literally remembered she didn't. I even rechecked my purse! Most importantly she was not only lying but also giving me a face like I owe her one million!! She told me to check the camera lol. I don't give a shit about that one dollar ok? You can take it and are welcome! read more

Everyone that works there have a nasty attitude they clearly see me standing waiting for my order to be taken. But instead she ask another lady that was behind me while I was standing there for 15 min! read more

Bad attitude, no paper towels, no forks, and complaints. I ordered 10 cupcakes, and they all put them in one box and they were all packed together. It was so disappointing，terrible read more

Morning here is a busy time for them. When we came in the counter was crowded with people and it took about ten minutes to get our food. The best of what we ordered was the dumplings. The filling was tender and delicious. The rice crepe we ordered was fresh but I have had ones I like better. We also ordered egg tart. They were fine but the crust was a little dry even though it was very flaky. The filling lacked a certain springiness that one would hope for in an egg tart. The flavors were fine but over all it was mediocre. There were a lot of other baked goods that looked tasty and I would happily come back to try them. It is also incredibly cheap here. All the food we ordered came out to $8 so that is certainly incentive to come back for more. read more

Affordable authentic Chinese bakery, they have great dim sum and fresh fruit smoothies

It's a really great bakery that has a big selection of bread, drinks and lunch items all for very good prices. This place is always busy so be ready for a crowd of people waiting to order. People will cut in front of you very easily if you don't speak their language which can be frustrating at times. Be aggressive and order when it's your turn but other than that it's super good. The bread selection always keeps me coming back. The taro and red bean buns are my favorites. read more

Stopped by this place a number of times. Like i said, "I am going to hit every bakery on 8th avenue". I usually order the watermelon smoothie when the watermelon is in season. And it has been for the last couple of weeks on the avenue. They have all my favorite cookies and assorted Chinese baked goods. I love the Sesame Ball that has the red bean filling and sometimes I get lucky to find that treat here late in the afternoon. They have a wide assortment of drinks and smoothies. Everybody is trying to cash in on these drinks. How could you go wrong with freshly sliced watermelon and fresh ice blended together. Damn its so refreshing and healthy. Cant stop now off to the next spot. read more

I come here often during the morning rush. Their coffees are cheaper compared to the rest of the bakeries on 8th Avenue. Sometimes, the ladies at the register do give you attitudes when you rush them (I learn to just let them do their job). They have a good assortment of dim sum. Their buns and cakes are pretty fresh. Since I only go in the morning, most if not all the items are piking hot. The "snow white" bun, and the spare rib rice noodle are pretty tasty. But then I order the same things all the time. read more

I order birthday cake from this place all the time. But this time I am disappointing. The cake is old and the fruit taste bad. It's spoiled. I know they use the cake from the front. Then replace the new one at front. But I am ordering the fresh cake. hope they will do better. They are always busy in there. But they have like 5-6 workers. it's always slow when I order. I will give two stars. read more

I love this place to death. I live basically up the block and this has always been my go-to bakery. Their food is amazing and cheap.

Lines? No such thing. You would have to get the attention of the staff or wait a long time for service. The food is okay. One time I ordered Horlick but they gave me hot water. Some can understand English. I wish they really enforced a proper line. read more

I like this place particularly for their rice noodle (which comes with your choice from a variety of ingredients such as watercress, fish balls, beef, and scrambled eggs) and the most deliciously sweet/savory soy sauce. I also like their milk tea. I give this place 3 stars because of customer service. I find it especially hard to make an order during rush hour. If you don't speak their native chinese language it's hard to make an order. Even though you've been waiting 15 minutes. Also, beware people will cut you off. So try to avoid it then. Otherwise, it not so bad they listen and can be friendly. Rice noodle = $1.25- $2.00 milk tea = $0.80 read more

This place is phenomenal. They have such a wide variety and everything is very inexpensive. For 1.50 you can get rice noodle rolls with fish balls and corn or beef, pork, etc. Where else can you get a freshly made order for a buck and a half? The variety always attracts me to this place because there are always choices. I'm a picky eater; I get tired of eating the same things all the time but their menu is so extensive. I've never been to a bakery like this before. They have all the usuals plus tons more. It's a really nice place to grab a filling bite for a couple bucks. Breakfast, lunch, and sometimes I even stop by for dinner whenever I'm in Brooklyn. My favorite things about this bakery, however, are the smoothies. Oh my god the smoothies are to die for ( especially the mango). They use fresh fruit while some other bakeries use powder and that is a big deal to me. For one, it's much healthier. You can taste the difference. It is like a mini dim sum cafe. Very unique. I strongly recommend a visit to this bakery. read more

This place isn't the best but I'd say is a lot better than a lot of the other bakeries on 8th Avenue because they have a pretty decent hot food selection (dim sum, fresh made cheung fun). Again food isn't the best but they have a good selection. read more

I get breakfast here at least 6 days a week for the summer. They offer a variety of food other than baked goods like congee, rice noodle rolls, rice, noodle, etc. There are days when it is very crowd but when its not busy it's literally empty. Most of the time their items are fresh but sometimes you can tell that it's leftovers from the day before. I feel that the rice noodle rolls are the most popular from this bakery, you can get it at any time of the day and it is also something I would recommend. read more

Its okay, I guess I prefer Chinese food over Chinese pastries, but this place is pretty cheap!

This bakery stood out from the Chinese marketplaces around the area, the decor on the outside just catches your eye, so I decided to give it a try. Like most other Chinese bakeries, they offer a wide selection of baked goods and pastries, but this place also offers drinks like smoothies and teas; all of which are delicious. On top of that, they also offer takeout dim sum which I've never seen in a bakery before. In addition, their menu includes things like wings and noodles, among other things. Although I'm visiting all the way from Boston, if I ever find myself in the area again, I am definitely stopping by again ! read more

The food was good, the service was bad, there were only one or two guests, and they ignored them. The staff are chatting and joking by themselves ，I hope the owner of this shop will attach importance to this problem. read more

I used to enjoy coming here as the bakery is very cheap and the food, coffee, milk tea is good, but I can no longer come here due to what I perceive as rude customers who strut in and cut in front of you in line (what line?) to order. if you are not chinese expect to wait an additional 10 minutes in the morning before someone serves you due to the never ending stream of rude pushy customers who barge in front of you. the servers here don't even acknowledge you if your not chinese even though they can clearly see that you have been waiting to place an order. I am done with this racist place!! better to find a nearby bakery with less customers.. read more
