Great experience!! I called before hand to see if they can program a spare smart key (silver) I got online for my Toyota Prius 2007. They said I could come in immediately. When we got there, they offered us some water and got started on the car within 20 minutes. There were some complications with the programming since the key I'm currently using wasn't the original one, but they figured it out quickly! They also cut my key for free too. After sourcing a bunch of different quotes, we went with Good Lock & Key because they had almost flawless ratings, a high number of reviews, and were on the lower end of the price range, which was a rare combination. As far as the service. They were fast to respond, extremely friendly, and the service was quick, easy and clean. No random surprises from the free estimate they provided either. On top of it all, two weeks after their service, I was messing around with a new smart lock trying to see if it would be compatible with my door. In the process, I fudged the existing lock install up. I have these guys a quick call and they came by within a half hour to fix it up for me. This is the go-to place. Fantastic service! We were having problems with the keys on our front door deadbolt. They would stick, and would not insert all the way. It has been a struggle to unlock the front door. Also, our door knob lock on our side door has been broken for months. I removed both the dead bolt and door knob and took them to Good Lock & Key. The door knob couldn't be fixed (which I expected). They got me a replacement door knob and keyed it to my house key. They also cleaned out the deadbolt. Took less than 15 minutes. Price for the new locking door knob, including re-key, and clean out of the deadbolt was very reasonable. read more

As soon as I closed the door I knew something was wrong... Yes, I locked myself out. I got my first set of keys when I was 12 years old and never had I locked myself out of my home before. I've locked myself out of my car more times. I tried to DIY it, but you CAN'T DIY everything! Professionals exist for a reason and although I felt dumb and irresponsible I'm not the only person or the first person to lock themselves out of their home. I lost my set of car keys and couldn't find spares. Other places gave me super high quotes because my ignition key is different than my car door key, but Good Lock & Key gave me the lowest rate. I bought an old 2003 Honda Pilot recently and didn't realize that my ignition and door key were different because I always used the alarm fob to open and close the doors . Anyways , my car battery died , so obviously I couldn't use the fob to open it, I tried my ignition key in the door and that's when I realized it didn't work . I found these guys here on Yelp , they had 5 stars so they were my obvious choice. I called them up , they came to my place to assess the problem. Even gave me a jump start so that I could get my truck to their shop in Pasadena . Made my new key for the doors , it only took like 5 minutes . The technician tested it , even lubricated the locks for me because they felt a little sticky. I forgot his name but he's the young guy in the photos on their page . I honestly have not written a negative review in years but felt I absolutely had to given what occurred today. I came in asking for a simple garage opener (my current one had thr plastic break off so it cant connect on my keys) The gentleman pulled out a 3 button Genie remote that I had been looking for. I said sure, I'll take it. He called his employer and boss and asked how much to charge me. He said $45 plus tax. On Amazon, its $14.99. On home depot its $19.99. The same remote was everywhere online for $15 to $20. I was shocked. I said understand you need to make a profit. But $25 would be fair.. and that $45, was grossly overpriced. He shrugged.. didnt say much and basically had no response to his outrageous price point. I walked out and will no longer bring my business here, where I've had keys done in the past.
