Owner who answered phone was very charming, assured us that our things would be protected, wrapped and handled with care. The opposite happened! Things were thrown, items unwrapped thrown and fell onto the street then let them lay there, bags stuffed on top of clothes in wardrobe boxes (not sure why we spent money on boxes, packing everything nicely), were told "no" when asked if things could be placed at certain places, asked for cash instead of the choices owner offered, then at the end they ask for a tip and how much! One guy had a horrible attitude the entire time and was scary. The list goes on and on., etc. etc. My husband and I were so upset and still are as we keep finding things they did. Even our new neighbors commented on them. Horrible experience and waste of money. read more

We hired Good Deeds with a weeks notice and they rocked our move! We had a lot of stuff to move over 100 miles and they didn't bat an eye. All six movers were hustlers! Honest, friendly and only one minor thing broke at the very end which was no big deal. I was actually pleasantly surprised at the whole day. Thank you to Cassell, Adam, Henry, Tom, Dawn and Darryl! You made what I thought was going to be a super stressful day into an actually great day! I would recommend Good Deeds and this crew to anyone without hesitation! read more

Good Deeds Moving - Movers Near Me - Irvine, California

Dee and George were super helpful and hustled to get all my stuff moved quickly and carefully. would def recommend to any one moving.

The guys were excellent, great communication, honesty and trustworthy I would absolutely use them again. The only 2 things I would suggest is if you are moving a whole house, especially across state lines, only do a morning move. My guys got here pretty late in the evening and we ended up moving stuff late at night, and because of that most of the items did not go where they were supposed to go :( Also I would suggest paying the guys in cash if possible! read more

I can't thank these guys enough. Hardest working good fello's!! Sal, Jon, Matthew, Adrian?... Awesome experience!! read more

After having quite the experience, DAVE and SAUL made me not want to work with this company again. They proceeded to take a SUPER slow time after telling them the faster they work, the higher tip they'll get. After completely shattering a glass lamp shade, ripping the back of a famous painting, breaking the wheel off of a roller chair, dragging our mattress that became completely black, I am VERY disappointed. They even decided to blame me, and bitch back. SO unprofessional. When you call make sure you don't get them and maybe try another place. read more

Edited Review : I had left a review recently, explaining our not-great experience with our recent move utilizing Good Deeds. I had attempted to speak with the office, with no luck getting through at first. Just spoke with someone who listened and provided context to our experience. I appreciate their attempt on improving the experience and do see they are trying to ensure customer satisfaction. Again, the guys were really nice and positive to have around during the move. It seems to have been an off day, as generally I'm told (and see reflected in reviews) they are great and quick movers. read more

I've used these movers twice. Both instances, we were provided several examples of how they were the best. In the first move, I spoke to the owner of the company, who explained that he would send his best guys knowing that I'm extremely particular, and have some rather large OCD concerns. Sadly, the home I was moving out of was damaged, and so were a number of my items. They were willing to work with me after the move to ensure that it was made right and did so pretty quickly - cutting a check for damage that legitimately caused by their team. In my second move, I had a few additional items damaged, and it was a pretty short move, from 1 unit to another (same building). They put together my bed frame incorrectly but did offer to pay for a replacement and did so. They did everything to try and make it right. Another oddity, was that one of the guys was doing nothing for 2 hours. Then, in a completely strange occurrence, I discovered this moving company had 2 separate moves going on in the same building at the same time. At this high-rise building, you pre-reserve the freight elevator for moving, which I did. However, the movers for the other move in the building "stole" the freight elevator, and my movers couldn't move... even though I was paying them, on the clock. When I mentioned this to the Good Deeds mover for the other residents' move, he threw that person items out of the elevator violently and started cursing. It was beyond upsetting knowing this company was moving my things, and this is how their staff acted. I reached out to the management team several times recently about my prior past experience. They finally called me weeks later but at this point I'm just over trying so hard to give them a 3rd chance. The owner is very nice and so are most of the guys, but I opted to use another company this time whom provided great service. The 3 stars is for the efforts they did put forth, the missing 2 stars is for the absolutely horrible experience I had with the other movers and the damages caused to my belongings and home(s). I wouldn't say not to use them, I'd say it depends on how particular you are. They deserve a chance for sure. read more

I used Gooddeeds moving for my Tennessee move. And I can kindly say the experience was like no other moving Company I've used throughout the years.,the guys were so polite and professional , they didn't stop when my furniture made it to our new home until the truck was empty I kept asking the guys did they want water or anything because of the way they were sweating, but they continued to unload ! When I say hard workers and Great service. read more

We sent pictures of everything we wanted moved. They came, did the job then charged us an extra $3000 more than what was quoted with no indication of a price hike until the end, which we had to pay in cash. The movers from the first group were good. Almost all from the second group were lazy and uncaring. I watched as one guy in particular dropped a box marked FRAGILE in bold, black letters. We have a lot of Princess House crystal, mostly vintage. Some of it now broken, a lot of it stacked improperly. Despite paying everything accurately and on time, Rodney was hounding the movers for our final payment before they even arrived at our house. After everything was unpacked, we noticed we had 2 couches missing and several items damaged, including an adjustable bed. We might also have several bags of clothes still missing. It took at least a month just to get the missing couches they tried to tell us they didn't have. And even then, we're still missing half an L couch. Cut to nearly a year later and they still haven't sent the rest of the couch, nor paid out the measly penance for the things they broke. They're also blocking/avoiding our calls. Oh, and when we spoke to the main mover, he said that Rodney wasn't going to pay them and had no plans to despite literally across the country with only 3 or 4 people. The movers are also made to work without a lunch. If you're kind enough to feed the hired crew, you'll be paying extra because their work time, which you are paying for, will still be ticking away as they eat. ********DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!******* read more

A move is never fun. Throw in toddlers and during a pandemic...what was I thinking?? Anytime you're hiring for a service, whether it's cleaning, painting or moving, it's hit or miss depending on who is sent to finish the project. Rodney (the owner I believe) was very helpful with my multitude of questions as this was the first time we hired a moving company. The day before the move, Rodney called to confirm for the next day. Fast forward to the move date. Duane gave me a call about an hour before (very much appreciate the heads up!) arrival and sure enough, the team of Duane, Jose, and Johnathan arrived as scheduled. Duane was able to disconnect our washer and dryer and his team hauled it down 2 flights of stairs with narrow spaces and sharp corners to navigate around. The three of them worked hard and made sure to take great care with all of our belongings. I initially thought I wanted to stack my washer & dryer as I wasn't sure the laundry room space was big enough and Duane was nice to try side by side for me to take a look. Sure enough, the fit was perfect! I had purchased new connectors for the washer and dryer and Duane installed those as well. I was lucky to have some moments to chat with the 3 of them in passing and they were all down to earth from my perspective. If I ever need to move again (hopefully not, realistically!) I would absolutely go with Good Deeds Moving again and specifically ask for the team of Duane, Johnathan, and Jose! read more

We used Good Deeds Movers for our move from SoCal to NorCal and they made everything easy! They quoted me a reasonable price and on the day of four movers came and loaded the truck. They were very efficient and didn't waste any time. They drove up overnight and delivered everything the next day. In moving in we noticed a couple of items with some slight damage but they were great and we got full reimbursements for the items. I would recommend them to anybody considering a move! read more

I'm not sure how my experience was so different from the others but I wanted to share my honest experience about my move a few months ago. My boyfriend and I were moving from a two bedroom apartment to a two bedroom townhouse and hadn't booked any moving companies in advance, so I called up Good Deeds Moving less than a week before the move. I asked for only two people and was told they would arrive at 8 am on Saturday. Saturday rolls around, the guys end up showing up 2 hours late - with me calling them every 30 minutes to make sure they were still coming. Three guys show up - well, that's fine, if the move would be faster. We had packed nearly everything up, so there was very little for the guys to do but move everything into the truck. With three guys, I thought it would be quite fast but it still took about three hours to move everything out and there was only one guy in the apartment at a time. They also refused to disassemble the furniture - queen bed frame, dresser, sofa all were not disassembled. By the time we get to the townhouse, it is around lunch time, so we get about an hour of unpacking done before we break for lunch. We go our separate ways and return to the house about 40 minutes later - the movers are already there waiting. They could have called us if they had been waiting long but whatever. It takes another 3-4 hours to unload everything. We were a bit disappointed it took so long (~7 hours), especially with three people, which was more than we asked for, so the hourly rate was more and we ended up spending more than expected. Overall, the total cost ended up being about $800 and we had to drop by an ATM to pull out more cash. Another few months down the road and I found my dresser leg had been damaged - I can no longer close the bottom drawer due to the damage and the whole dresser is wobbly. Luckily not a super expensive item but I felt like this could have been avoided if the movers had disassembled the furniture like they were supposed to. The movers themselves were professional and friendly but I would have been happier if they were more efficient and did the job properly. **UPDATE 8/30/18** As I am moving again, I have moved the dresser and found out that actually a second leg is broken on the same side. I am furious that they did not inform me that they had damaged my furniture and appalled that they would simply place the legs back like nothing had happened. There is something fishy about all these five star reviews even for people who have had bad experiences. I believe these movers are dishonest and should be avoided at all costs. read more

UPDATE: Shortly after posting this review I was contacted by Julia on the behalf of the company owner. They were very apologetic and empathetic about the whole situation. I greatly appreciated the rapid response and effort put by management in order to come to a mutual understanding. The company is family owned and after speaking to them it really shows that they care about the customers' experience and addressing shortcomings to improve future consumers' moving experience. OLD REVIEW: When we first hired this company we were excited because we saw 5 stars and over 800 reviews so we decided to go this route rather than other companies that have less reviews. But oh boy were we wrong with that choice. Our move was scheduled between the hours of 8-10am so we patiently waited and waited and waited 10 am comes and the movers are still not here. I called the number that's listed on their contract twice and there's no answer. I then called the phone number that called me a day before to confirm my move and Nicole answered and stated that they are running into some issues and trying to find replacement movers for us. My biggest concern at this point was it's past our scheduled arrival time so why has no one given us a courtesy call to let us know "hey we're going to be late." I then wait until 11:30am I still don't get a callback letting me know that they found replacement movers or they need more time. I decided to call Nicole back on her line and I got no answer. I called the mainline twice again and I get no answer. I called the number listed on their Yelp page and got no answer but left a voicemail. I text the number they provide to text if we have any questions and I still get no answer. I then message them on yelp and get a response much later in the day stating that their phone lines are down and to call this alternative number. If your phone lines are down shouldn't you call customers that are moving that day to let them know just in case of emergencies like this? When the movers finally arrive I realize that the name on the truck and the name on the shirts is a completely different company. I was puzzled. If you're going to contract out another company to come for my move shouldn't you at least give me the courtesy of letting me know? Up until this point the company has never returned my phone calls, voicemails, or my text messages. The customer service is horrible and extremely unprofessional you should let the customer know the situation that is going on so they can be prepared for the late arrival. Alternatively, you can simply return the callers messages with a simple apology or to check how the move went. But I got nothing. I know this review is long but I really hope someone reads it and is warned before their next booking. This might have been just a fluke on this day but regardless it was a mess and a very stressful moving day that could have been avoided with a simple phone call letting us know the situation. I was able to locate the other company that was contracted out and I will be leaving them a 5 star review because the movers for that company did a TREMENDOUS job. read more

I had scheduled them to come for my moving day and everything was set up. Never received confirmation or a follow up call. They told me they would call the night before but never did and I tried getting a hold of them but their voicemail box was full. They never showed up and I never heard from them about cancelling or anything of that matter. In the end I had to take another day off from work and schedule a different moving company for the very next day. Just be careful I didn't think they just wouldn't show up and with no communication. read more

Moving is stressful but Good Deeds Moving made it smooth. We chose to move on a Friday afternoon for a discount. Our move was from a second story apartment and they did the move efficiently. Our big items were a fridge, bed frame and nook table. For the moving items we didn't pack, they had tape, shrink and blankets to protect the the furniture. It took them 3.75 hours for a rate of $85 per hour. Duane and Victor were our movers and they were nice and professional from the beginning to the end - from doing the paperwork to wrapping furniture to moving our fridge (from the second floor). They were very strong! Duane thank you for helping us move even though it was your third job for the day and Victor, thank you for your sense of humor. The only mishap that happened was a floor rip at the apartment - which allowed us to find out how cheap our landlords were in their floor installation. Despite that, Good Deeds Moving deserves a five star review for going above and beyond the norm of moving boxes. They worked carefully and diligently! read more

Just moved into our new home and hired Good Deeds to help us with the move. They gave us a good price per hour and a discount for being first time customers. Everything about this experience was great. After confirming the move with them the night before, I had a late change of heart and wanted to push it out a day. I called them up, and they could not have been more friendly, helpful, and eager to help. After confirming everything and making sure, they were able to reschedule the job with about 12 hours' notice. And while it was totally an evil move by me, messing with their schedule, at no point did they make me feel like I was screwing them or being difficult. On the day of the move itself, my movers Dejuan, Kevin, and Dave were awesome. I had a pretty hefty job, which all told took about ten hours. They powered through the entire thing with care and attention, and didn't slack off or run up the clock by dragging their feet or being slow. We were packing an entire home into a garage, and they managed to make pretty much everything fit in there. They played tetris with all our stuff, while still keeping it safe and undamaged, to cram as much into the garage. I did not expect us to get that much in there, but Dejuan, Kevin, and Dave freaking nailed it. They're also a friendly bunch, and it was a pleasure to have them help out. And then, when we're all said and done, the pricing was competitive too. Really incredibly happy with the entire experience, and can't recommend them enough. read more

EDIT: They reached out to me this morning and I told them my concerns and problems. Rodney was very apologetic and told me that there are no excuses for what happened, and he will make sure to talk to the movers about all of these issues. Also I found out that management provided them with masks and gloves, but they did not wear them. Rodney was very upset that they didn't since he knows how serious it is to do be safe these days. He personally came and apologized to me. I was glad that he did not try to make any excuses and was genuinely felt bad for my experience. He also offered to send someone to get the floor fixed so that I don't have to pay for it when I move out. Original Post: I moved this Monday which was a short distance move (only 10 minutes away) for studio and it took total of 5 hours. I understand that both places had long hallways which made the move to take longer than expected, but I strongly believe they could have done it within 4 hours max since I did not have too many stuff. Only furniture I had was TV console, drawer, small couch, small desk and my bed. I know my furniture are not the most expensive kinds, but I wish they were more careful. As you can see in the picture, top of my drawer came off and they did not even say anything about it. Also they destroyed my nightstand. They did tell me some of the furniture are not as strong and more on flimsy side, but still you can be careful right?? Also they scratched my wall which makes me so angry because I moved into a brand new apartment. They also made ding on my hardwood floor which I probably would have to pay for it when I move out. I had metal shelves as well and it all came apart. If they were more careful the shelves would not have came apart. They did not even offer to put it back together. Another thing that makes me angry is that I cannot find my disinfectant spray. I took it out the first thing when I got to the new apartment because of what is going on these days and I can't find it anymore!! It makes me think that maybe they took it since disinfectant spray is like gold these days. They also did not wear any face masks or gloves which made me get so worried about health safety of everyone during the move. Lastly, I voiced my concerns and problems to someone who gave me a call the next day after move & she said someone will get back to me about these problems and I still did not hear back. I was hoping that this company is the best one that I hired for my move because of all the positive reviews, but I was disappointed in so many levels. I don't know if people who came out to do my move were just bad, but they need to do a better job. read more

Let me start with, never again will I move without this moving company. You know how you hear nightmare stories and read awful reviews? Well, that is not the case about this company at all. Our amazing, hard working, attentive, efficient, charismatic, workers were DaJuan, TJ, Joe and Arius. Those men, went above and beyond to help our family of 5 (an infant, 2 toddlers mommy and daddy), move. They disassembled furniture quickly, carefully and well organized. They handled all our things with tact and care. They brought wardrobe boxes and packed our clothes for us. They emailed and joked with us. They handled our curious little 4 year old eight love and education. I have so many wonderful things to say and not enough time to type it out bc I have to unpack and take care of 3 babies. So, all in all, the price point of the company was excellent, the service was stellar and those 4 movers were heaven sent. Thank you so much for the best moving experience we've ever had. And we have moved like 12 times (no exaggeration). read more

Update: Soon after I posted my 1-star review (please see original post below), I received a phone call from the supervisor Rodney who was very apologetic and wanted to make things right. We settled on an agreeable refund of monies based on the service received and Rodney personally delivered the refund to my front door with a more than adequate apology. This business is about doing the right thing and making sure the customers receive the services promised. As a result of making things right, I have upgraded the review to 5 stars. There are more times than I can count where a business did not even apologize for an underpromised service so kudos to Good Deeds for doing the right thing. Danielle from Good Deeds also gave me a follow up call apologizing for the service and reiterated it puts its customers satisfaction first. I applaud them for their diligence and it is very rare to find a business that goes above and beyond to make things right. It is evident that this business wants to conduct itself to its customers in the best possible way. Original post: Based on the numerous great reviews, I expected more from this company. The team of Steve, Akeem, Darnell, Luis did my move. I would say half of them were great and the other half I expected more. I was moving from a 3 bedroom condo to a 3 bedroom house. The last time I moved I had hired a 2 person team and it took them 8 hours. Since I hired twice as many people I had expected the move to take a bit less time. Alas, this was not the case, the 4 person team also took 8 hours to move. The last movers I hired were also able to completely move all my belongings. Again, this did not happen with the 4 person team...I would say they were able to move 85% of my things with the last 15% I had to move myself (which took 4 more trips for me in an SUV). I still had items in the garage and there were full closets that were completely missed as well as a half rack of hung up clothes which they said they had enough wardrobe boxes for. When I'm paying $150/hour for 4 people for 8 hours, I expect everything to be moved. As with all moves, damage is to be expected to some of the items. In this case my daughter's dresser was basically broken. Albeit it was an Ikea dresser but I didn't expect broken pieces at the end of the move. It was salvaged but its basically a hazard to use now as it could collapse at any moment as the bottom support was cracked on the both ends. Also one of my floor lamps got knocked over and was damaged. The guys themselves were extremely nice and they took care of wrapping furniture and the TV with the moving blankets and wrapping them in plastic wrap. If I got the full effort from all 4 movers instead of just 2, the move could've been done with more efficiency and care. Suffice to say, I feel like I've paid for a 2 person team but got charged the 4 person rate. Also be wary of their marketing tactics (it's a bit smart but just a heads up), when asking for a quote on Yelp they save they will give you 10% off the final bill. What this means is as follows, when you book your move with them they require a $350 credit card deposit which they will apply to the move total. At the end of the move, the rate is calculated at hourly rate * number of hours. So far so good. Then they subtract the $350 deposit which becomes the new total of your final bill. Then, they take off 10% off that new total which is the amount due. So technically they're not really lying, but it is not fully explained during booking and it's really not the 10% off you are expecting. It's possible I just didn't get the best movers from this company (well I can vouch for 2 as being good, but not the other 2), but I would've liked to have been satisfied with my move. I've moved multiple times over the past 10 years and I can emphatically say that this has been the worst move so far. I'd advise Yelpers to find other alternatives, preferably ones that other friends or family have used. read more

I'm updating this review to talk about the complete nightmare that it was dealing with these movers. I had hired them previously to move my office and it was a good experience. I hired them again to move my home and oh my goodness...what a disaster. The 2 movers showed up as scheduled but one went straight to my bathroom and took a major dump. He was clearly sick and moving very slow. About 2 hours into the ordeal he left leaving me with one mover and a 4 bedroom home. Another guy showed up briefly after and things carried on. Until their truck filled up and there was no more room for the rest of our furniture. They sent a tiny truck despite me letting them know that I had a 4 bedroom home to move. We had to go rent a uhaul and continue moving. When it was time to arrive to the new destination, the truck did not show up for over an hour. And when it finally showed up, it was one guy. The other guy had a concert to go to and needed his COVID test. What.the.hell This left one guy to unload 2 massive trucks. I paid a ton of more than anticipated over their negligence. My furniture was damaged and scratched. Absolute worst experience ever. Never calling these people again. read more

Moving during a time that is so close to the holidays is always hard to find moving companies willing to help you move. Good Deeds were absolutely wonderful. They were very professional and made sure I received the receipts right after I made a deposit. Can I please give 0 stars? Nothing about this moving company or their deeds was "good." Terrible communication through receptionist Danielle - did not return calls; reception was terrible; would promise a response about something and would never follow through. Too many cooks in the kitchen. Very sketchy 'supervisors.' Employee came to the house to see the home and give the quote in a contract form. Had it all in writing. Was signed by the owner 'Rodney Wilson.' Packers and movers slacked off on a long day (someone took a nap on the truck). Quote was given with a 'not to exceed' and company did not honor contract that was signed by owner and myself. Went back on their word several times and it turned into them negotiating and bargaining with me. A contract is a contract and they seem to not understand the legal implications. Items were damaged and broken. Missing parts to my stroller and kitchen items... found them later in trash bins. See pictures They for sure bribe and pay people for their 5 stars. There is no way a company that operates this way truly deserves it. People need to be aware of what they've done. Because it's absolutely not OK with me. Furthermore, after haggling me for more money the whole move day (after contract was already signed) and me sticking to the agreed upon amount - 'supervisor' drives to my home and threatens me for more money, cursing, yelling, being verbally aggressive. Needless to say, I called the cops and filed a police report with everything documented on cameras. Protect yourselves, your belongings and your loved ones. Spare yourself the headache, threats, misery and stress on an already stressful experience of moving. Just use another company... ps: Christine "business manager" commented below after my review and stated I lied. Stated I 'owed more money but didn't pay' - but again, they signed a contract and I simply adhered to what was owed and paid in full. Sounds like another threat to me to say "you sure this was a smart move on your part to come on yelp and lie about out company?" Hmmm.. where and when did I lie? read more
