I want it noted that the next level for quoting was "studio" and i didn't have items for a studio. I didn't move a bed or couch or tv or anything of that nature. No dining furniture. I had so little items that the mover said he could deliver it all BY HIMSELF with one person. That should be a note of how little was being moved. It was never communicated what "a few items" actually means. to me, clothes, boxes, and no major heavy furniture ARE a few items. I don't understand what the $1470 quote with labor is for if not for the items I had. THIS is the misleading part and quite frankly, I feel taken advantage of. My other grievances were not addressed. I am extremely disappointed with the moving service I received. I paid for three movers, but only two of them actually worked while the third contributed very little. Throughout the move, I constantly had to supervise and remind the crew what needed to be done, which defeated the purpose of hiring professional movers. The movers spoke Russian to each other for almost the entire move, making it difficult to communicate. They were also rude and frequently ignored my instructions. Instead of working efficiently, they wasted a significant amount of time. To make matters worse, they did not reassemble my refrigerator correctly after moving it, leaving me to deal with the issue myself. Overall, the service was unprofessional, poorly managed, and not worth what I paid. I rarely leave reviews...only when I'm inspired by an incredibly bad experience, or an incredibly good one. This is definitely the latter. These guys are amazing. I've moved so many times in my life...across the country, across towns and neighborhoods. I can say that of all my moves, this has been the best experience I've ever had. I'd tried to pack everything, but I had many loose ends, clothes still on hangers, boxes that weren't closed properly. It was a mess. My moving guys, Archie and Mykola showed up early with a great attitude and worked seamlessly. I'd anticipated the experience being emotional and just damn hard. We had two stops, leaving my old address, going to storage, then to my new home. These guys were like my moving angels who moved mountains with grace. You can tell when someone is there because they are punching a time clock (there's nothing wrong with that--I've punched a few myself) but you can feel when someone really cares and will go the extra effort. They did that, and very quickly. They handled all of my stuff with great care--pieces and art I've had for decades. Delicate lamps etc...They even put together my bed! While change is hard, these guys were real professionals and just skilled as heck. The company was easy to work with too. I could not find a single fault in the work they did. It has taken me eight months to write this review. Why? Well, I moved, which is why I'm reviewing movers, and I've been busy.. But I needed to drop this note, because it's well deserved, and better late than never. Right? This move is a little different in that Next Moving loaded our things into a truck, drove about 30 minutes, and then unloaded that truck into a POD. If you aren't familiar, PODs are huge metal containers where you can ship stuff, store stuff, or both. Usually the POD is dropped off at your house, but we had no room for it, and so had to bring our things to the POD facility. We were moving from Los Angeles to Chicago, and when I booked the POD, I really wasn't sure how much space we'd need. So, I scheduled a huge POD and then a smaller one too, because I was pretty sure we were going to run over. The lead from Next Moving was Alex, and his team was all business. Loaded up the truck, everything safe and sound, and they moved quickly because I explained that the PODs facility was only open until 6PM. When we pulled up and I saw our units, I started to wonder if one big POD and one small would be enough. We had so much shit we were dragging with us, and that was even without all the furniture we tossed from smoke damage during the Eaton Canyon wildfire. PODs are pretty affordable.. unless you move them long distances. Really it's the shipping cost that gets you. So, between the two PODS, we were already somewhere around $9,000, with the small one sitting at like $3,500, and I was starting to stress that we'd need even more. Alex and crew got to work. They stacked boxes and everything else into the big POD like they'd done it a million times. Alex directing the flow, using every inch of space from floor to ceiling. Tetris mastery. We're like 85% done, and Alex says to me, "I think we can get it all in this big one..." NO WAY. They kept going, and as they got close, I offered to throw away two bookshelves to make it all fit in one. Alex said he didn't think it would be necessary, and in went the bookshelves. At 5:55 PM, five minutes before the PODs facility closed, Alex pulled the metal door down on our single POD, fitting everything in that single metal box. I tell you, he used every inch of that thing, and because of his stellar attention to detail, I was able to cancel our smaller POD, saving us $3,500. That POD went some 3,000 miles by train over the next few days, and when we finally popped it open about 45 days from when it was packed, everything was perfect. Nothing shifted, nothing broken, it was amazing. A huge TV, a Peloton, standing mirrors, all kinds of things could have gotten trashed. But all was well, thanks to the skill and focus of Alex and his team. Incredible work, gents. Incredible. Alex could have taken it easy and used the two PODs because hey, they were right there and I said to use them. But he took it on himself to help me and my family, saved us a pile of cash, on a super tight timeline, and for that, we are extremely grateful. read more

I used the same World Cup line because it was accurate. I told you I was going to write a negative review. So no, you shouldn't be surprised at all. Everything I stated in my review was fact. The service was unprofessional, slow with the intention of burning the clock, and required my constant supervision and assistance to complete. This company offered us a $300 Zelle as a retroactive discount for our move because they damaged our TV if we updated our reviews to 5 star reviews rather than 2 star reviews. Do not trust their reviews. They also said we could not state in our review that we received any kind of compensation because it would incentivize other people to pressure the company for similar compensation in the future. I have reported their attempt to bribe us to alter our reviews to Yelp and to the FTC. When we gave the movers the tour of the items needed to be moved and told them they needed to take the TV they did not take the time to check or test the TV they instead spent 2 and a half hours moving all of our boxes and furniture into the moving truck, and then finally said they needed to test the TV at which time we informed them that the necessary power cable was located in a box that they had loaded into the truck 2 and a half hours prior. They then made us sign a waiver because of their inability to complete the proper checks before beginning the move. They picked up my TV from the position it was in by grabbing it from the front face of the screen and moved it across our living room before wrapping it in plastic wrap. Once it arrived at the house one of the movers had me move the TV onto our TV stand with him, and he once again grabbed it by the screen to move it up and onto the TV stand then he then leaned it against the wall and placed cardboard pieces underneath it so it wouldn't move because the legs for the TV were in a box that the movers had mistakenly put into our bedroom though it was labeled and meant for our living room. Once we found the legs and the screws the next morning we attached them and turned on the TV to find it was broken in the exact spot the movers had held it from multiple times. Our move was on Monday July 20th and we spoke over the phone and through email with Krista and Mark for the next few days about it and he gave us the response that was posted on my initial review that because we had moved it before the movers arrived and had put legs on it after the movers left they could not verify that their movers damaged the TV. We have been fully reachable by phone and email and have proof of all of the calls and emails shared between us in the days after the move. The last phone call we had with Mark he offered us a $300 Zelle as a "retroactive discount" because the company "wanted to make it a 5 Star experience for us" he stated that they would send the Zelle to the number on file once we updated our reviews to 5 stars. To confirm this in writing we emailed them right after to ask for verification but they refused to answer in email only verbally over the phone. They are now going to claim we are blackmailing them just as they have with other 1 star reviews who have complained about the same issue. We're not blackmailing them, blackmailing them would mean we told them that they have to pay us or we will tell people about something harmful or damaging to their company, but they offered to give us money to give them a 5 star review and stay quiet about them giving us money but we simply will not be doing that. Maybe they have a recording from the last phone call we had with Mark, and they can share that full recording to show everyone when we "blackmailed" them as Mark told us if we change our review they will Zelle us $300. I have reported their actions to Yelp and to the FTC as I had stated earlier. These actions that they are taking are not acceptable and make it very difficult for customers to find accurate reviews. We based our decision to hire them on the fact that their company had so many 5 star reviews, but if they're paying people to change their reviews to 5 stars then now we can't trust the reviews. read more

I would be very careful before booking with these guys. I was looking to hoist a couch through my 2nd floor balcony. They originally quoted me $465 for 3 workers minimum 3 hrs PLUS a $199 hoisting fee. Then later they tell me that it's $499 plus $199 hoisting fee. After telling them the dimensions and weight they tell me that they have to add an additional $200 heavy item fee. It felt like a total bait and switch and arbitrary fees to rip me off. Total scammers. I would stay away and find a more reputable company that doesn't upcharge you for random items they key in on like 'hoist' and 'heavy'.
