This place was a bit different than I expected, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Inside is clean and all light wood and very pretty-you can see the kitchen. The spring rolls were good, and maybe they were a special that day because they don't appear on the regular menu, and we both got the main Gom ramen dish, which was served in a copper bowl on its own tray. A bit different from pho or Japanese ramen, but it still came with an egg and some veggies and I really liked the broth :) Also, I got the honey citron drink iced which I think was an infused citrus water with honey, and it was great. First time eating Korean Ramen, great experience, the front staff was more than helpful, explained everything, gave examples, took to go and everything was included. We enjoyed our food at a 2 spice level. Still spicy, high in flavor, mom ordered a 0 spice and also loved her food. Definitely returning! This city keeps surprising me with little hidden treasures. I found the cutest Korean cafe in the middle of the city. It reminds me of the coffee houses in Seoul with the clean modern lines and simple personal touches like fresh flowers in vases. From the food to the service to the price, this is an amazing find in El Paso! I came here right when they opened at noon and was warmly greeted and shown to a seat. There was machine to purify the air and another to dispense hand sanitizer. Everything was clean and well kept. With all the branding I thought it was a chain or franchise and was surprised that it's locally owned and a stand alone venture! The waitress was warm and friendly, answering my questions and request for firmer ramen (they couldn't accommodate since they cook all the ramen at once) but they did put the spice on the side since I was a wimp. Everything was pleasantly presented and there were illustrations on the wall explaining the menu items and history of the dishes. The menu here is simple, you have 3 types of dishes that you can then personalize. 1 is a ramen with beef broth, 2 is rice with beef broth, and 3 is a rice bowl. I tried the ramen and it's definitely Korean as the flavor is mildly beefy, the shredded scallions and pickled veggies bore a sourness that's typical of Korean cuisine which features fermentation front and center. You can request the spice to be on the side, and it was delicious, the fermented peppers, chili oil and spices kicking the flavor up a notch. The ramen is soft with a nice chew, the meat sliced thin and they were generous with it. The sourness of the paste made the broth also sour so I wasn't able to drink it, since I'm not normally a fan of sour things, but I ate all of the ramen and accompanying garnishes. I finished it with a Korean coffee and this definitely is came from a packet or machine as it was weak, but well flavored. They gave me a complementary choco-pie cookie and it paired well with the coffee. I will definitely come back as it was such a great value, everything came out to be under $10! I saw a lot of Ubereats and people picking up orders for lunch on Sunday and I'm happy since it's such a great little cafe. The only complaint is that it was not spicy at all. If this place was a Teddy bear, I would SO Hug you!!! This place is Sooo Cute! I LOVE it!! I was raised in a state with a HUGE presence of Asian Influences on various type of meals. Ramen was definitely one of those mastered cuisines. I arrived one evening to this establishment and was pleased to see the simplicity of their menu. I'm not psychic at all but I truly feel it in my inner self that this company will continue to be a successful company just based on simplicity alone. (Speaking it into existence, you're welcome ) This is my first time visit. I sat down on one of their eight cozy tables and was greeted by one of their servers. There were two. I ordered the Gom Ramen with no mushrooms. As for the spicy level, I am SO embarrassed to say I got a level One... The level of heat spice was just right for a beginner or a aging woman who can no longer enjoy spicy entrees (story of my life...). Upon arrival of my order which didn't take long, I was beyond blissful to see the simplicity extending to its dish presentation. Ramen was served on a beautiful copper looking bowl on a clean tray with utensils. May I just randomly add that the spoon had a long handle which paired nicely to the bowl. It also had a nice touch with a GOM writing at the end. Let's talk about the broth. It had a really nice balance of flavors perfectly with my choice of spicy level-ness. It was flavorful and delicious. Those who are experts in Ramen know the difference between slowed simmering broth that takes hours vs the quick water+spicy packet mixes. This was not the latter. The amount of meat was just right on how ramen is supposed to be which isn't supposed to be a lot. (Why do you think most Asians are thin?). Service on the other hand demonstrated friendliness and I could tell everyone on shift liked working with each other. BEST RAMEN IN EL PASO. this is not Japanese ramen this is Korean ramen and its amazingggg! I got the Gom Ramen level 2 spicy and it was perfect. perfect amount of spice and rich flavor, i also got the Mandu for my appetizer and they were juicy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. The ambiance in that place is so peaceful and welcoming i wouldn't mind going here by myself just for some peace. It was almost a meditative state being there, i left feeling refreshed, euphoric, calm (which i've never felt at a restaurant before) and a full stomach (not to mention unbeatable prices these days) If i didn't live on the other side of the city i would go to this place everyday, i envy those who live close to this spot! You go Gom Ramen!!! Man oh man did i get a bowl full of flavor and ingredients! I have been so curious about a Korean version of ramen and all the pictures look super promising. They did not disappoint today! Im always one for noodles and as tempting ad the rice with broth option seemed, i thought id stick to what looked more popular. For only $6, you get this excellent and well sized portion of delicious beef broth that was rich and velvety with delicious ramen noodles, some brisket, hard boiled egg, and some veggies. Even though there wasnt a lot of meat, you can order an extra side for only $2 if you like. If you have a party of 2 at least, i would suggest the Gom Suyuk for $8 to get even more bang for your buck for that extra meat fix. I love how simple they kept their menu. They have ramen, rice, or the meat platter option which tells me they know how to make sure they deliver high quality and amount of food every time. Not over doing it with too many other options. I was so happy with my bowl! It was just ehat i needed after a good workout. They also give you the option for spiciness levels, from 0 to 3. I said 1 and fair warning, it still gives quite a punch lol. But it was still perfect. I wish i didnt just have coffee before coming here since i would have tried their korean coffee that looked delicious. I love this style of ramen! This is exactly what El Paso needed, an infusion of unique asian flavor. I am a big fan of these mom and pop restaurants, and Gom Ramen is the epitome of mom and pop. A simple but flavorful menu lends to the unique vibe this place exudes. You get to choose your spice level for the broth in your ramen. The Korean steamed beef is perfectly textured and surprisingly full of flavor. This is an overall superlative Korean ramen. Oh, and the prices are very, very reasonable. The service is excellent, the store is clean and properly appointed with decor reminiscent of an authentic urban downtown Seoul restaurant. I had a phenomenal experience here and would easily rate it as one of the best new places in El Paso. From the outside, it is very unassuming, but once you walk in, I promise you will have a good meal. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm. There are tables but my friends and I sat at the bar stools overlooking the kitchen. I highly recommend this as you can really see the amount of care the owners of this place put into the food. From my view the kitchen was very clean. I was also able to chat with the chef himself and he told me of the inspiration behind the concept of this place. I really believe that sitting and seeing him work really added to the experience. In regards to the food, I must say it was spectacular, and I do not say that lightly. They only have 3 items on their menu and in my experiences these places serve the best food because you know what they serve is good. And trust me you can tell once you try it. My friends and I split everything on the menu and we loved each dish. The ramen, which we ordered spicy, was very flavorful and filling. The rice dish was very comforting and I know this is cliche, but you could taste the love and care pit in it. And the meat dish was amazing, especially the dip which was made with garlic and sesame. Even more surprising, the price of the dishes was extremely cheap- $6 for the ramen and rice dish and $8 for the meat dish. I have seen other places sell up to triple for the same thing and I would have happily paid that for the quality of food I got. We also got the coffee which was sweet and the perfect end to the meal. Thanks to Epvegsnob, a local blogging legend, I heard about this place and the fact that even though its not on the menu, there is a vegan option. I've had Korean ramen before, which often ous reminiscent of American ramen, with egg and a slice of American cheese in it (Don't knock it, that version is delish too). This was a bit different, this was homemade with great noodles in a tasty broth. I like the heat in my food, so I ordered as a level 3. It was the spiciest, but was the perfect amount. My nose was dripping, and I sweat a little, but nothing to make me stop eating. I asked for an egg with it and got a sliced hard boiled, marinated one. Delicious to dunk in the broth. The broth is what took me off guard. I was expecting a hot broth, but the veg is cold only. I understand the limitations on having a hot veggie broth available at all times in a small kitchen if there's not going to be a huge demand for it. To drink, I ordered the Gom coffee. Very similar to Vietnamese coffee, this is slightly less sweet and creamier. Both are delicious and can waiver between which I like more, and this you can order hot or cold The great thing about all this is that it's reasonably priced. My ramen, adding an egg, ordering an extra plate of noodles and 2 iced Gom coffees came to under $13! If you do come here, be prepared, the inside is small. There were 2 4-tops and 3 2-tops as well as 3 chairs at the bar. It felt like a maze trying to navigate between tables. If you sit at the bar, you can watch them make your food. The cook is meticulous in his plating, making sure all the leaves of spinach are nonwilted. I lived watching it because there was a level of care you don't always see. finally, if you must use the bathroom, be careful. It's a small space, but I will say if you end up waiting for seating, it's totally worth it. The interior is decorated more on the minimalist side, and the menu is simple. Parking is easy, they have plenty of spots. No inside dining. You order through the window. There's a single table outside, you can probably dine there if you're in a hurry. Prep time is fairly quick. The soups taste great. They taste fresh, not like some stale stuff that I recently tasted someplace else. When you choose your level of spicy be aware that level 3 is genuinely hot as the menu describes. Yum! Level 1 is much more bearable but small children might not able to stand it. It's already been clarified in reviews, this is Korean ramen, NOT tonkotsu. The broth is not milky, at least in the spicy version I tried. You still get hardboiled egg and a choice of noodles or rice. The broth is very flavorful. Also, it's like half the price of most tonkotsu I've tasted and you get the same or more. Excellent value. Good portions on the soups, they only come in "big". Except the salad, it's more expensive and less filling but don't get me wrong, it's got an amazing taste all of its own. The salad is called "suyuk" so if you try that be aware that it's a pretty lean meal with no carbs. read more

Please be aware that this is Korean ramen, so a bit different than what you might expect. The restaurant is small but minimalist and pretty. While they are expanding, expect a wait. It's worth it though. Noodles are made in house and the broth is simple but flavorful. I really like spice so I order off the menu's level 1-3 level of spiciness and get a 5-6. Yum!!! I had came here with my mom and my grandma after we were visiting El Paso. I ordered the ramen with a level 1 spiciness and I added the bulgogi beef and 10/10 I would recommend. Not only is the food outstanding the people are nice and very welcoming. The broth on the ramen had so much flavor and the bulgogi was so tender and juicy and full of flavor. I was recommended this place while visiting El Paso so I was excited to try it out. I have probably eaten 50 or more bowls of ramen in Japan and was a regular at the Yokohama ramen museum. I'm just a general die hard fan of Asian food. The presentation was really beautiful and my service was great. I tried the gom ramen at spice level 0 and was a bit underwhelmed. Everything tasted fIne but I felt it was a bit too bland and reminded me more of Vietnamese pho. The noodles are not the type I was expecting but I figured maybe that's just their style. The meat in the dish was small compared to what I've been served overseas or in other ramen places in the US. I would say the broth is what had me a little disappointed, even trying my husbands level 1, the spice didn't add that bold, savory flavor I look for in ramen. I still ate and slurped all of my bowl though! I understand this is Korea style ramen so my assessment may not be fair.
