I've had this 3 times and every single time it doesn't disappoint. I love the New York roll, and the Hawaiian roll. The roll with garlic on top is so unique and strange but absolutely delicious. Here on a Friday evening at 630, and the place is quiet. There are about five tables and we were seated quickly. The ambience is nice and the dining area is dimly lit. They did not have any alcohol but that was not an issue. We started off with the shrimp shumai appetizers. They were good. It is very hard to mess up shumai. For the main course, we ordered the Vegas roll, the sushi combo D with four different types of sushi, and the kalbi bento. Everything was delicious. I'm not a sushi person, but this place certainly deserves five stars. The kalbi was warm, soft, and juicy. The rolls were solid and on the larger side portion-wise. Sushi Garden is a solid option to satisfy your sushi craving in El Paso. We ate here for the first time today and were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Sushi A, which comes with 5 nigiri and a California roll along with miso soup & salad. I thought the quality of the sushi was about average, but I am a huge sushi fan so I still really enjoyed our dinner here! My favorite part about this order was the 5 nigiri each being made with different fish, which was great for the price. The miso soup & salad were also about average, but it was so nice that these were included with our meal. My boyfriend & I also shared the Red Rock Roll, which is "shrimp tempura, crab meat, and cucumber topped with spicy tuna & scallion." I liked this roll as well - it had a unique flavor compared to other rolls which might have come from the sauce, and I thought it went really well with the nigiri & California roll. I'm giving it four stars, but it's poised for five when I get a chance to go back. I'm only holding back because, due to one in our party being pregnant, we weren't able to sample the full array of sushi options! We had the bulgolgi bento box, the spicy pork bento box, and the sumo roll (thinking everything in there was cooked). The bento boxes were good, but obviously not their speciality. The sumo roll was good, but we didn't get a super clear answer on whether everything in it was safe for the pregnant individual in our party to eat, so she held off. Everyone else really liked the sumo roll though! The service was good and they even gave us a complimentary spring rolls -- which were absolutely delicious! As a side note, the other customers were also very kind and we had someone offer up their booth so we would be more comfortable. As soon as we are through this pregnancy, we plan to return and try the full array of sushi. We expect to jump to a 5-star rating at that time! My Very first order of real food after 10 months! Sushi is my favorite food and my expectation is not low. I have ordered following orders: Two B. Nigiri sushi (4) & Spicy tuna roll (8) ($11.95 ea). One Spicy pork bulgogi ($8.95). Bad: *Some pieces of Spicy tuna roll were too fishy. *Portion/Shape of the rice is odd for most nigiri (see attached picture) *The portion of the Spicy pork bulgogi was a bit small, but fair considering it is only $8.95. Good: *Fish was fresh!!! *Rice was cooked/seasoned right! *Chopsticks, soy sauce (both regular/low sodium/), *Napkins, and Spoon was delivered with it. This is big because I know some places forget about them, especially the soy sauce. *Spicy pork was marinated well and tasted better than other Korean restaurants. *The price is very affordable. Conclusion: I can see that the restaurant cares about their food quality. Yes, there are some improvements to make this place 5 stars, but no serious issues/problems/concerns. I will order again! Decent sushi. I pay attention to what's in the rolls. I noticed a lot of it was just a California rolls with filets of fish on top. There was crab meat in almost every signature roll so not really much raw fish. I look forward to the raw fish. Very cute restaurant. Very good service. 3 Stars = A-OK! Nothing bad happened. Great experience. Diet Coke was amazing I must add. The service was exceptional and food came out quickly. It was expensive for one person. My meal was $33 but this is the least expensive sushi you'll find in El Paso and quality is great for being a landlocked city. Was expecting nothing crazy and was blown away. Will be back! read more

We are so glad we stopped by this place! We were in the area very hungry and wanted something good to eat. We came across this sushi spot on yelp and decided to stop in! We were quickly greeted by an employee who told us to pick a seat. We sat down and she right away took our drink orders. The menus are very easy to read and so it didn't take us long to choose what we wanted. We ordered: One dragon roll One Las Vegas roll One galbi combo bento box One chicken teriyaki combo bento box One iced green tea One Dr Pepper Wow. The dragon roll was delicious!!! The Vegas roll was good and it was very hot when it was brought out. The outside of the roll was very crispy which made it really good! My chicken teriyaki was a little too dry and the chicken had a lot of chewy and nervy pieces, ew. The white rice was great!! The bento boxes come with a bunch of different food. It came with miso soup, salad, breaded onion ring, breaded shrimp, breaded vegetables, and enough cabbage to be shared. They even brought out some complimentary gyozas which were delicious! I love sushi and this is my go-to place in El Paso. Ambiance - The windows are all blocked, but it's still nicely lit inside. Also room for big groups if you want to make a reservation. Food - Their lunch deals are fantastic as well as their rolls. Beware though that the specialty rolls can be heftier than expected. Recently had a bento box with Galbi and despite not being a korean restaurant, the galbi was amazing and worth coming back for. The complementary miso soup and gyoza are great as well. Pricing - For the amount of food you get, I think the pricing is fantastic. Especially if you get there in time for the lunch specials. I am here for business and looked on Yelp for a great sushi place near by. I was going for some hot sake and sushi to ease the pain of the day away. Well they didn't have hot sake but the had cold. Not as great as hot (only because that is what I am used to) but the cold did the trick. The squid salad is delicious and oh my wow the Santa Fe roll.... Awesome. I decided on the rainbow roll, and some salmon pieces to top off the meal. They served me soup while I was waiting for my sushi, and it tasted delicious. While I was here, I had a good conversation with some people sitting next to me. They were friendly, as was the staff here. The waiter checked in on me often, and made sure I was taken cared of. Fried calamari, large udon, and yellowtail sashimi to start off. All very tasty, particularly the udon- the noodles were chewy and not overcooked where they just snap off or are doughy. Then we ordered rainbow roll, Oktoberfest roll, lemon roll, eel roll, and I want say spider roll which ended up being so much food. The lemon roll and Oktoberfest roll were both our favorite. The rainbow roll was kind of subpar and I feel like it's a standard at every sushi joint but we'll give it another try. Date night strikes again. I took my beautiful wife out to Sushi Garden, which came highly recommend by several friends. The restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but like so many things in life, it's what's inside that counts. The waiting staff was fantastic; they were friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and checked on you frequently. The seating was a little limited but they seemed to handle a decent sized crowd at the off time at which we chose to dine. I could easily see it filling up quickly during the busier hours, so that's something to keep in mind. Although I did not get a picture of the menu, their selection was wide and varied to accommodate all tastes when it comes to sushi. My wife and I decided to share a few dishes in a attempt to optimize our diversity. The food was excellent and presented nicely. We also shared a small bottle of sake which we both enjoyed in spite of our limited experience with the beverage. There was a drink cooled with several varieties of sake and beer amongst other drinks. There is quite a bit more food and drink that I would like to try in the future, so I'm sure it won't be long before we head back to this restaurant. My 500th review had to be for a place that I hold dear to my heart so there really is nothing better fitting than Sushi Garden. Almost a year later, we are definitely regulars, making SG an almost weekly ritual (somehow I only have like 16 check-ins though... obviously I'm too preoccupied with the food). I'm honestly shocked that they don't automatically send out a salmon nigiri as soon as I arrive, but that's probably not an appropriate thing to do in a restaurant. I'm stuck on their nigiri. Regardless of what I'm feeling like (traditional, fried or El Paso style rolls), I always order the salmon nigiri first. They cut their salmon thick and it's absolutely delicious. Buttery delicious goodness. And of course with a thicker cut means a little bigger rice ball. Most days I eat it in two bites (which I totally don't mind because the smooth buttery taste of the salmon served at the right temperature on top of the mound of naturally sweet white rice is heavenly perfection), but when I'm starving I can down each piece in one bite. I think I've cycled through all of the rolls here now and I've had a taste or two of their bento boxes. Everything is mouthwateringly good! They do have a lot of rolls influenced by El Paso (lots of heat), but I enjoy their traditional rolls the most. I haven't attempted to order of menu, but their sushi chef is very talented and I wouldn't doubt his ability to make other rolls just as well. SG is definitely busier than those first few months we started going here. Certain nights it is full, but I have yet to see a wait for a table longer than 5-10 minutes. It's definitely one of the best sushi spots in EP and I wouldn't be surprised if in a year or so they had to move to a bigger location. Service is always great. They have some new additions to the team, but they all have the same SG mentality. And the owners have the right idea because most days you'll be offered complimentary gyoza and mochi ice cream. I know one day this will have to stop, but it's genius for the simple fact that it gets you hooked on it with every meal so you'll start ordering it (also it introduces El Pasoans to a different type of cuisine which I love). One of my absolute favorite restaurants in EP! Not too flashy in appearance, but it'll blow your mind where it counts. Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, perfect place for lunch or dinner. ( when we went there, there were like 10 high school students sitting at the table so you can bring numbers of people. ) I ordered sushi express combo B. It came with 8 spicy tuna rolls and 4 sushi. ( chef's choice) Rolls were kinda small so it might not be enough if you usually eat a lot. Sushi was surprisingly fresh and I loved it. It was so good that I had to order more salmon sushi after I was done eating. They brought fried Gyoza, miso soup and salad with our food. Because they recently opened the restaurant, they said they are serving free Gyoza to customers. They don't know when they're gonna stop that. Gyoza was okay. My husband loved it. ( He usually doesn't like it) They need to work on their miso soup though.. After we were done eating, they brought mochi ice cream for both of us. They are also serving mochi ice cream to all the customers now! You'll get one mochi ice cream but if you order it, you'll get three. Right now they are doing a promotion that if you order on their website, www.sushigardenep.com, they will give you an order of free gyoza for free! The interface of the website makes it really easy to order and pick up. I love getting the Sakura roll there. It's delicious and only 7 dollars!!! On top of that, each person who orders gets a complimentary side of miso soup. Some other rolls I really enjoy/recommend is the spider roll and the scallop volcano roll. I really enjoy those. During this pandemic they are allowing dine in with masks. I haven't experienced it yet so I can't comment on that... but the curb side pick up is very quick and easy.
