I want to explore the menu after dining here! First off the atmosphere is just so pretty with the giant cherry blossom tree and aesthetic lanterns. This made my dining experience much more enjoyable. I loved the vibe I was getting! The service was very good too. My servers were very nice and were speedy with both my food and drinks. I appreciate their kindness! The food I had ordered was the beef lo mein, with the two count wonton soup and a jasmine iced tea! Yes I know it's mainly a ramen house but they pretty much serve most eastern Asian cuisine. Next time I will try the ramen! But on the main note, the lo mein came out on a huge plate! I was shocked to see so much but pleased with the quantity! It tasted awesome and had so many flavorful veggies. I appreciate that it wasn't just noodle only. The wonton soup was pretty good too! I personally don't really like a strong oil based soup. This is a quick review of a ramen house in El Paso. I was greeted with quick and timely service, although it wasn't packed. It has a healthy menu of options to choose from, which in El Paso is a luxury. Although I can't speak for the entire menu, the chicken teriyaki was great, having a savory and tangy taste. The rice was standard but decent overall. I had no complaints, as it did come out hot, but it was mixed better, as all my chicken was at the top with the rice at the bottom, so a lot of rice was left over. The green tea was fantastic, and that might be enough of a reason to go here for just the drink. Overall, the store was great, with a nice flower tree in the corner and a traditional vibe. The price was not super expensive, but it was still on the pricier side, which, for the food and service I received, I'd be willing to pay, but I also understand that expensive is expensive. My order was ready as soon as I arrived which is a big plus. A little disappointed in the broth to bowl ratio. Also, the egg rolls didn't come with any sauce at all. Luckily I have soy sauce at home. Second photo is the end result when putting meat and fixings inside. It's basically half a bowl. I will end off on good note that the broth was flavorful which is wonderful. I have been to places that fill the bowl to the rim and have dozens of options to add on and the the broth was bland. So there are points for that for sure. Great lunch! Friend had sesame chicken and it was the winner! I had sweet sour chicken and it was fine. Other friend had lo mein and it was good. Only downside was the drinks. We were asking about the boba teas, and the waiter seemed like he wasn't really sure about his answers. Friend ordered a taro boba tea and it came in the cutest cup for her to keep, so we wanted to order one as well but we wanted ours a bit less sweet which ended up tasting like plain milk or something--no flavor at all. When we went to the register to pay, we noticed a full boba tea drink menu with so many more options that we would have absolutely enjoyed! Too bad they didn't show it to us sooner. We usually frequent the Umami near I10 and have always had an amazing experience from service to the food. Today was extremely disappointing. The crispy beef which is one of our favorites was over fried and underdressed. We could barely chew the meat and the sauce didn't cover half of the pieces. When we brought it up to the server we were told that's how it's made but he would go check: Another server came to our table to ask what happened. He never introduced himself but said he would talk to the chef. Our server returned and said that is the recipe. I asked if they could remake it and was told the chef refuses to remake it because "that's how it is made". They would make something else if I wanted. What kind of customer service is that? We also ordered veggie egg rolls that were also over fried which likely means the oil is too hot. Will not be coming here again. read more

I flew into El Paso and felt like I was getting sick and needed soup. I got a simple egg drop soup and my equally ill daughter ordered wonton soup. We didn't want anything heavy like a full order of ramen. I appreciated that they call to confirm online orders. I appreciated less that my daughter's soup had burst by the time we made it back. The small soup was put in a styrofoam coffee cup. She was nearly in tears but we fished out the wontons and poured in the egg drop soup. My frustration increased a bit more when i realized they only supplied one set of chopsticks and a fork. I had to ask the hotel concierge for spoons. My daughter wanted ramen today so we stopped here. The service was excellent. Food was very good as we had dumplings and ramen. I had the chicken ramen as a Thai boba tea. I I have seen some restaurants lately that do not do as they say. You see the checklist that says a worker has cleaned the bathroom but I have seen some places with the trash can full and the bathroom looks dirty. This place was not like that. Umami's staff is nice, their servings are bountiful, and their food tastes homemade delicious.
