Great service and beautiful interior however I wish the food was a little better. I love drunken noodles but my dish with pork tasted more like beef. The noodles were stuck in one big blob and they were crunchy in spots like on the edges. Loved the egg flower soup. Tried the egg roll appetizer and they were good. They brought over complimentary fried dumplings and crab cheese wontons. My friend had the sesame chicken dish and thought it was ok. I will give it a second try. read more

This is my favorite place to get pho because they actually allow me to get a children's sized pho. I always end up wasting food because I rarely can finish a small bowl let alone those places out there that don't even offer a small. Their spring rolls are amazing. They gave us free dumplings this last time and I would totally order them again next time. Great flavor and the curry sauce it is served on is so yummy. I have never had a bad thing to eat here. My friend and I arrived here at 6:30 on a Friday. There was a little bit of a wait. Once we got seated the servers were super attentive and pitched in their recommendations when we needed help choosing an item. We got two items on the house which was such a pleasant surprise!! My party got the pho tai and vegan curry which were both delicious. For a cold fall evening, this food was so cozy and comforting. The pho is solid and the curry was a north style curry which I got to try for the first time. The interior was nice and spacious, and even with the busy dinner rush we felt taken care of. My pho unfortunately came with broken up noodles- it seemed like someone cut it up for a toddler or something. However, I was in a rush and thought it would be fine to eat anyways. I did let them know, and they asked if they could make me a new bowl, which I declined because again, I was in a rush. They gave me 50% off which I thought was fair. I thought it was handled well, so no complaints for the server! Just wonder how the noodles were okayed to use. The flavor of the pho was pretty good. Golden Saigon is a spot you want to go to when you crave being treated like family. This is also the first restaurant that I had to ask for the veggies like bean sprouts, lime, and basil to put into my pho. Long review ahead! Heard so many great things about this place, but ultimately it was a very disappointing experience for us. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, but the process to get to that point was terrible and we probably will not return or dine-in. We called ahead because we had a friend visiting and wanted to be cognizant of the limited time we had and were told the wait would only be 30 minutes, so we showed up and added ourselves to the (very outdated) handwritten waitlist in a notebook. 45 minutes passed and hardly anyone was taken off the waitlist. The only people leaving the restaurant were people who were on the waitlist and sick of waiting. As we moved further up the waitlist, I noticed a couple had left the establishment. When the host shouted out their name several times and they weren't there, they crossed them off and moved down the list. The annoying part is the couple returned 10 minutes later and saw they were crossed off the list and flagged the host. The host, who was about to seat another couple that was further down the list - like actually about to walk them to their table - decided to seat this couple instead. It seemed unfair to the people who had been attentively waiting for their name to be called. I think having some technology like Yelp waitlists where people can leave while waiting and not lose their spot would be nice, but if the restaurant is using a paper waitlist and customers are not sticking around to hear for their name to be called, then they should be added back to the end of the list. Onto the actual dining experience. We finally got seated nearly 1.5 hours after arriving. By then, it was well past their 8pm close time but they were willing to honor all customers still waiting - I feel bad for the staff working at this restaurant. The first water they brought out to me had gnats in it, which they promptly replaced when I brought it to their attention. We ordered spring rolls but they brought out spring rolls and egg rolls by accident, which I think was the waiter's misunderstanding since we were trying to decide between one or the other. They got my boyfriend's order wrong (he ordered lemon grass chicken but they brought out lemon grass shrimp) - not a big deal but just another hiccup though. They brought out complimentary appetizers and a dessert, but it was a bit hard to make up for the long wait to be seated and everything following that. We didn't get home until nearly 10pm, which we didn't want a late night and was why we called ahead. Had we known it would be such a long process, we would have gone to another one of the many good viet spots in the area. Golden Saigon needs to invest in some better technology that will probably actually HELP them churn more customers in and out efficiently and profit more. The hosts and servers were working very hard, but I felt really bad because it seemed like they were under a lot more stress than they needed to be - the owners should modernize their process more and get with the program that many other businesses are on. read more

You have to try their food! Run. don't walk. Just make sure you make a reservation first otherwise you're waiting at least 30-40 minutes in the cold (they don't have heaters or a fire pit). This is a small business with limited seating. It's a little run down but it's worth every penny. They accidentally sat someone before us and gave us feee dumplings, which were relaxing on a bed of their curry sauce, making me wish I ordered curry We also got the pork egg rolls, which said online were gluten free. So far i'm doing ok so far so I think that is accurate. Their menu doesn't show what is gluten free but online does. All of the food was incredible. You receive generous helpings. I definitely had to take some home for lunch tomorrow. Overall, I want to dive head first into whatever fish sauce they make. It's to die for! Let me tell you, this place is hands down the BEST pho restaurant I've had. We came in during Sunday lunch and it wasn't as busy. We were seated fairly fast. Afterwards, the waiters tended to us fairly quickly. I really love the inside of this restaurant because it's super homey and authentic (you know the food is gonna be gooood!). I don't even like pho but this pho, I could not stop eating/sipping their broth!! Their meat was sooooo tender and juicy! Honestly, you didn't need to add any add-ins. It was THAT flavorful! Viet rolls 5/5 -- I was only expecting the typical shrimp spring rolls but honestly, their rolls had a little twist to it. They had pork and shrimp in it. The pork was flavorful and added so much to the rolls! I thoroughly enjoyed every bite I had. Def, a must try. The only thing I would probably change is the tightness of the roll. It was rolled tight but not as firm as I would like it. It was probably because it was filled so many goodness!! Bon Bo Hue -- my friend ordered this with pho noodles, and it definitely did not disappoint. I had a sip of the broth and the meat, and omg I was raving about it. You can tell that a lot of people who come here are regulars, and after eating here just once, it was easy to see why. The environment and friendliness of the staff is amazing, and the food is even better! Now let's get to the food... Brandon is legit. His recommendations hit all the marks and solidified this place on my top eats list!
