The last time I went to Golden Greek restaurant was 8 years ago and they had a different owner. I didn't have a great experience on my first/last visit so I never went back. I heard recently that they had a new owner and I had an elderly friend out from the nursing home for the day and she wanted to stop here for lunch as her and her late husband came here often. We stopped in on a weekday for lunch and it was pretty quiet in there except for a couple other tables taken. My friend wanted pizza and added a salad. While we were waiting the new owner came over to introduce himself and make sure we were all set. He's a nice young man and seems eager to make his business a success. My friends salad came out first and it was a big salad for 99 cents with a meal. She said it was delicious and they gave her plenty of salad dressing. Our pizza came out shortly and it was delicious, definitely one of the better pizzas I've had in town. The pizza had plenty of cheese/sauce ratio and it had a nice crispy bottom. ordered online for pickup. I understand the wait which was listed as 25 minutes yet we waited on site for another 30 minutes and it wasn't busy. the pizza was cold and hard like it sat around as a leftover. the fries were not seasoned as paid for, and cold. the fish and chips needed heating in the oven, the chicken; small pieces and cold. the cheese sticks lukewarm. the grinder was hot and good. It takes less than 10 min to get home so it wasn't the drive. We won't return... even tried to send a message via the website and it's not set up to receive messages even though there is a link. So much for seeing good reviews! Do better Golden Greek. We spent a lot of money and not one of the people sharing this food was impressed. Stopped here on the way home from a work trip to grab a quick lunch. The menus had recently been updated and had a lot of items on them. I ordered an eggplant parm sub, the small which is still a whole 8" sub, with grilled peppers and onions. My companion ordered a sub with a side salad with dressing on the side. The side salad is a full sized salad, which was huge. I ate my whole eggplant parm sub, as it was delicious, eggplant well roasted and fried and the sauce was good. I can say I've had better sub bread, but overall a good pick. There was one person working all service and there were 3 pickup meals, two other patrons eating in. At some point when we wanted to pay there was a phone call arguement with the establishment and a web vendor to establish online ordering. read more

I rate this a 3.9. Ordered for pickup and the caller on the other end was very nice and gave me a step by step play how my za was going to be made. It was so in-depth they told me how long each part will take. It took around 20 mins total which is great timing. Enough parking spots and great outside sign name. Unfortunately, our past two take out orders have not been good. I love to support small businesses but they have just gone downhill. This past weekend we ordered fish n chips with onion rings, kids chicken tenders, potato skins all, a Reuben with fries and a kids fish n chips. The person that got the Reuben said it was good. Both fish n chips were not that good - I am not sure what kind of fish it was but it was not a good white fish. It was soggy and had an off (not bad taste) and both the fries and the onion rings were soggy and not really edible. The kids chicken tenders, although restaurant made they had no flavor or salt at all and the outer batter was way overcooked - my non picky eater didn't eat them. Got a call saying they didn't have something and they were going to comp us extra on fish and scallops for having no clams... No, no, no. WHY?! Whyyyy did I have to find this gem right before I go on a diet?! SERIOUSLY?? Fish and chips: ya. This is what I was craving and Golden Greek was where everyone was telling me to go (for a year, actually. But I didn't listen :::sad face:::). The batter was crisp and full of flavor. The fish was beyond flaky, moist and perfect! Definitely the best I've had within Worcester County. I'm not sure if the tartar sauce was made in-house but it was REALLY good! The fries that came with it were seasoned and lightly battered. The outside was crunchy while the potatoes inside stayed moist and creamy. The coleslaw....I've never been a fan of coleslaw...but I absolutely LOVED it from Golden Greek! Lovely blend of crisp and savory. I also ordered mozzarella sticks. They were better than what's found at the average Greek restaurant and the hearty marinara that accompanied it was rich, slightly chunky and full of zesty flavor. Lastly- I need to mention that everything was delivered by Door Dash! Had it not been for them I'm not sure I f have had a chance to try this restaurant. They were on time, friendly and easy to order through. First time ordering through them but won't be my last! Edit- we ordered the grilled cheese for my kid. Even though she barely ate the grilled cheese (because she's 2 and refuses to eat anything other than French fries voluntarily. The fact that she even ate half a grilled cheese amazes me). My sister and I went to pick up a couple of subs and an order of fries on 5/25/24. I had been going there for years, and had no previous issues with the old or current owners until 5/25/24. I won't be going back. There are a lot of places in Webster to pick up a sub. The front of the menu states 10% off for police, firefighters, or teachers. The last time I went for pick up, the woman behind the counter said that I didn't need to show my school ID as a teacher because she trusted me at my word. On 5/25/24, another woman behind the counter stated that their "system had been updated', so she could not discount 10% off the order. Got takeout recently, went a few years ago and wasnt impressed at all however I heard they were under new management. Disappointed to see things didnt change. Pizza was burnt/dry and the Cesar salad was very mayo/eggy? Seems like the dressing was left on the counter for days. Fries were soggy and oily. This restaurant is a true FIND!! My husband got the bay scallops. He said they were the best he has had in years!! I decided to try the pizza... it's honestly the best pizza I have had in a long time!! I ordered two pizzas... I was surprised when they told me I get a free pizza for ordering two large pizzas!! Tried this place for the first time today with my son and we were blown away by the entire experience. It's a very unassuming place from the outside and doesn't look like anything special but I had researched it on Yelp beforehand and read all the rave reviews. We ended up there because our first choice in restaurants was closed on the July 4th holiday and I am so glad I remembered this place because it's quite a find and we had the BEST experience at this restaurant. Huge menu! They have everything you'd want to eat while dining out. Small but clean and quaint dining area. It had such a homey feel. Exceptional staff. Our waitress, Marsha, was the best we've ever had in any restaurant including 5 star high end establishments. She really made our experience. The portions were huge and the prices were small and the service our waitress gave us rivaled any fine dining restaurant in Boston. We ate We weren't even done with our dinners and we were already planning our next visit to our new favorite restaurant. Rave reviews for the Golden Greek. I can't think of anything negative to say about the place. First class service and delicious food for the value. Will be recommending this place to everyone we know. Golden Greek is our go-to take out place and favorite pizza in Webster. They have a very big menu and change their specials daily and even post them on Facebook which is super helpful. The ladies at the counter are awesome especially the one with the dark hair!! If you eat in its a little slow which is odd cuz its never really busy in there except Fridays but take out is always accurate and hot right out of the oven. Prices are what you would expect for the market right now but still cheaper than a couple other pizza places in Webster close by. They're now open Mondays which was their only day off before and they finally got their beer and wine license back! 5 out of 5 favorite spot in Webster. They have homemade desserts too! read more

This place is great! We've lived in the Webster/Dudley area for six months but have always bypassed this place for the wind tiki. Went yesterday and was very impressed. Huuuuuge menu, very casual, very nice staff. This is the kind of place your grandma would take you, and I mean that in the best way possible. If the Golden Greek was a trencherman, then this place bears his name proudly. I stopped in on my way back from playing poker at Foxwoods, and had developed quite an appetite. The Godfather looked good -- with chicken, sausage, meatball over pasta. They brought me two plates -- one for the dinner itself and one for the overflow if I wanted to cut up the chicken separately (lest I disturb the enormous mound of food on my plate by attempting to cut it). I would say, conservatively, that there was at least 2 - 3 pounds of food on my plate. I lifted it to see for myself. Yup -- at least 3-4 pounds including the heavy ceramic plate. It came with a nice little salad that I greedily devoured. The meal itself was not so easy. I fear I left a few strands of linguini. But I ate all the meat -- and that's the really important part, no? The food was tasty -- if not quite as piquant as I would generally like -- a little sweet actually -- though not annoyingly so. The meatballs were mixed with something that I couldn't quite place -- spiced bread crumbs? vegetables? romano chees? a mixture? Who knows. Tasty nevertheless. I didn't want to eat again for 24 hours. What a feast. The menu was varied -- all of the typical Italian fare including pizza, salads, sandwiches, and the like.
