This is one of our go to places for take out when the family come over. Their family meal deal is an insane value at $75. We always order the half chicken-half eggplant parm. The chicken was well cooked and their sauce is delicious. Sometimes a few salad pieces can be a little brown, but no big deal. Their salad dressing is great. We always have so much bread leftover, so we just use it for other things in the days after. Parking can be a bit tough in front of the store, but they do have additional spots as per their sign on the building. If you need to feed an army, consider ordering this (we usually order pick up via Grubhub). read more

Had a friend visiting from out of state and we were looking for a place for lunch. Stopped at Calabria and we were not disappointed. They have a nice patio and the weather was nice so we ate outside. I had the Italian sausage and cheese panini and my friend had the chicken constantine. I asked for a side salad instead of French fries. Their Parmesan peppercorn dressing was amazing. And there wasn't an up charge for the salad. The panini was delicious with so much sausage that I brought half of it home. My friends loved her dish, which was dinner-sized and she took half home for leftovers. Our server was attentive, polite and very personable. When we got the bill we were shocked how inexpensive both meals were ($11 & $16) Will definitely be back and try dinner some night. Definitely a hidden gem. read more

Very disappointed with the food. I ordered Scallop Carbonara and a side salad. (This was a special) Well this was not Carbonara. This dish was not prepared the proper way. The sauce was watery. The Scallops were not properly grilled and then added to the the pasta. The salad was just tomato, onion and lettuce with little dressing. The lettuce was bitter. This was sitting for a while. When this place was on Shrewsbury St. in Worcester it was outstanding. Everything was fresh and made properly. Please you need to discuss this with your staff. We were so looking forward to trying Calabria. We came on a Friday night before it got busy and it's a very nice restaurant, decorated nicely and seemed very clean. We were seated in the side dining room. I had seen great reviews for the stuffed mushrooms so we ordered them for an appetizer, we picked half seafood and half sausage for the filling. The sausage ones were delicious, but we thought the seafood ones that the filling was bland and the seafood flavor got lost in the stuffing. Next our salads came and they were delicious and fresh. For our entrees we chose Chicken Parmigiana and Seafood Casserole. I had the Chicken Parmigiana and the chicken was good, but the sauce wasn't good at all, it tasted and looked like they opened a can of petite cut tomatoes and added some spices, it was very bland. The two others at our table got the seafood casserole (I was so tempted to get that), they both said that the seafood casserole was like stuffing with some seafood in it and that it was very soggy. I would be tempted to stop by for appetizers and drinks again, but I will definitely pass on coming for dinner again. Man. It sucks because I love the food when it's made correctly! But, as others have stated, I too usually have items either missing or incorrectly made! Today I ordered the fried goat cheese on bruschetta with honey. I got two bricks of fried cheese. Nothing to spread it on. No honey. Restaurant wouldn't redeliver or make it right. Neither would DoorDash. I'll have to wait a few months until they get it right! Until then- I won't be ordering from Calabria. I said this same exact thing last time I had ordered from them. That I would wait a bit until they stop getting my orders wrong... Yet here we are again I would love if I had at least two consecutive orders that weren't either missing items and/or that were completely correct. I really do want to come here again; it has been quite a while since I've eaten here. But I've gone three times for lunch in the last few months. The first time, the place was empty and locked, the second time, they said they were closed for a private function and today a lady there said that they decided not to open for lunch, yet there was no sign on the door and nothing on their website stating this. At this point, I'm not sure that they actually are open to the public for lunch, or if they just pick and choose the days they want to open. It's frustrating to the customers to set up a time to go based on their "open hours" and then you get there and realize that you need to find someplace different, especially on a lunch hour. read more

Had an amazing dinner on a Friday night. The owner greeted us and the server was very attentive and personable. We went back on a Monday night and had a mediocre experience. The servers looked tired. We had to wait a long time for them to notice that we were trying to get their attention. Food was just ok. The server took a practically uneaten pizza appetizer and collected dirty plates on top of it without asking if we wanted to wrap it up. She said she'd take it off the bill. She never asked if we'd rather have a replacement to take home. Such a vastly different experience. If we go back, it will be on a Friday or Saturday night when the owner is more likely to be overseeing operations. read more

I really don't understand the bad reviews here; maybe people are bored or did not like one little thing about it, maybe we came when it was not super loud or super busy, but this was the 1st time coming here and amazing. So 1) price, 2) service, and 3) food Let's start - service was great. We have 2 people a server and a person taking our orders that were always attentive and came back often to check on us, refill water and ask to remove used plates. There were 6 of us so the table was pretty filled as the food arrived. Food - I started with the lobster bisque - $6 for a cup (1/2 that of Legals) and FILLED with huge chunks of lobster in a nice cream soup. Others had stuffed mushrooms - 3 people ate and they still could not finish it - we took it home. 3 others had salads which were nice size for side salads. I had the Haddock Roseanne and again ate til I was full and had to bring 1/2 home. It was like the fish was baked 1st then the crab placed on top and heated so not to dry anything out - wonderful. My wife had the Haddock Italiano - again brought half if it home but nice huge piece of fish and then sautéed with onions, tomato's, and olives. Both my wife and I had side dishes of pasta, which we could barely touch (more food coming home). Our daughter have gluten free pasta - I had some and you know what - it tasted great,not like most pasty gluten free rigatoni. Our friends had the gnocci which she gobbled up, and Chicken Calbrese which again had huge chunks of chicken and tomato's, broccoli and oilves. Then we saved room for dessert. I got the carrot cake, which can be hit or miss. I liked it, not love but liked it - it did seem like I got 1/4 of the cake though. MY wife and our friends all got Tiramasu, which was good but again not as good as the meal. Price - for 6 people - with apps, meals, and dessert and 3 people had alcohol drinks - it was less than $350 AND we had dinner for at least one more night with the leftovers. You can't beat that with a stick these days. So I would recommend it (we;; we drove 45 minutes to get there) and let the haters be haters. read more

Not to mention an exorbitant increase in price. I had very high hopes for this place to become a staple. But the only time I went the service was terrible. We were there almost 3 hours because it took so long. And waiting that long, they could have done well by checking on us more and refilling our drinks, but they didn't, so they missed out on at least another round or 2 for each of us. The only reason that we stayed was because we were starving and were worried that the food would come out as soon as we left. Right from the start everything was great. The bread with olive oil and spices to the super fresh Caesar salad. The entree was beautiful and delicious, I had the carbonara with chicken. We saw this place while researching for restaurant week in the Worcester area. Surprisingly, some of the reviews were not great, but when you look at the reviews, they were for the takeout. We were a dine in. The waitress was polite, but could've been more attentive, and they would've sold more drinks. They had a great wine selection as well as beer and alcohol. The specials that they had made it very difficult to narrow it down to one, but that's not a negative. We started with the muscles. Very large portion with a to die for broth and plenty of bread to sop it up. I then went with a scallops, bacon over fettuccine special with the side of risotto. They were so much scallops, bacon and fettuccini . I only got to eat one bite of the risotto. Scallops were cooked perfectly, and pasta was obviously made in house. My wife went with the eggplant Parmesan and the homemade meatball side, her meal was so big that she will get two or maybe even three meals out of it . Nice and thin, cut eggplant with just the right amount of bread and a great red sauce. The meatball was the size of a baseball and again the pasta was homemade and delicious. They had a great looking dessert menu, but I have no idea how anybody could possibly eat dessert with the size of the portions they give you. It is also good for large groups, but like anything when you have a large group, it can get very loud in there. We've told our kids to put on their list. read more

Was walking around Millbury and happened to stumble upon this place. The service was decent, though a little slow. I'm not going to dock any stars for that, we're in a place where people rightfully don't want to work in restaurants anymore. The food was good. I got the chicken special, forgive me I can't remember the name of it. It overall was good, but the chicken was overcooked and a bit dry. My wife also got a chicken dish and the same could be said. This restaurant is so much bigger than I expected. Fun fact: you can make reservations for their bar seats. They had a pretty good sized menu with options for everyone. They were extremely short staffed but all of our orders came out correctly and at the same time. The waitress kept apologizing for the wait but there was wine and we were happy. They also had some special cocktails that were unique and fun. We were a party of 6 and we had plenty of space in the side dining room. I'm giving my experience a 3 for the service only. Food was a 1 at best, poor. Shrimp advertised as Jumbo but wasn't that big and slightly slimy . I had the carbonara sent it back once because it was dry. It was served with overcooked homemade pasta. When I got the meal back it was a bit better but the dish was overpowered by bacon. Salads are included with most entrees which is refreshing because this is so rare lately. Had a garden salad. Every bit was extremely fresh. We ate there on Saturday night and I found the food to just be ordinary. I'm Italian, I can cook and I'm used to good Italian food. I can see that this restaurant would probably cater more towards non Italians, who like the menu of a Chateau or Olive Garden. and if you're used to a good Mai Tai don't get the Mai Tai here. Let it be known that I rarely post a negative review unless things are particularly bad. First, though we had reservations, the table was not available upon arrival. Waited and waited. To be fair, the waitress was excellent and water filler employee was prompt and arrived often to refill. The food itself was very, very slow. One might make the assumption that since food is fresh, that's why it is slow. Maybe. Yet at one point the waitress pointed out that there was one table's food in front of ours, then ours would be out. When it came out, three meals arrives out of 7. Then 2 more, minutes later, then 1 more meal minutes later, and eventually the last. Those three initial meals (one of these was mine) were the special on the menu, lamb. All were supposed to be medium rare. With four medallions full of bone, everyone had one very, very rare piece, Two were medium rare, And one was medium. More importantly, a large steak knife came with our meals to cut the meat. Logistically cutting the lamb was absurd with giant knives. We needed boning knives because of these mega bones within the lamb. The knives became useless. The only solution was finger food style. One of our party did not order this to eat with her hands. (None of us expected to have to eat with our hands. It was a bit comical.) When she mentioned this to the waitress, she asked the waitress to tell the manager and show him/her the problem. She'd eaten a tiny amount of the meat and left 7/8. The waitress returned and no manager came out. We asked what the response was. We were told that because she ate a portion, they'd still charge the $35. We were perplexed. The lamb itself had little flavor, was simply nothing "special" even though it was The Special. The other meals were obscenely large (such as a lb of pasta with 3 servings of chicken- so most received a lot of food except for the lamb portion.) Vegetables side did not arrive with one of the meals even though he asked for it twice from two different wait staff. They simply didn't bring it. Overall, not a good experience. Food was meh. "special lamb" which was full of bone, was an awful experience, bland, and absurd that you were expected to eat it with your hands. (Not a rack of lamb). The manager's lack of responsiveness was surprising not to remedy one person's problematic meal. Should you risk going here for the same experience? I think not. read more

Reviewing as a delivery driver. Their wait times are WAAAAAYYY off. It was dead in there and I had to wait 20 minutes past the pick-up time. We lose money like that. The staff is rude to drivers and even though the app tells you what time to pick it up, if you are there before it is ready they snobbily tell you to wait outside. read more

This place is a gem!! We went a couple weeks ago and everything about this place was 5 stars. We arrived right at opening for dinner and within 45 min the place was mobbed! So glad we got there early! Amazing bread in a tasty/spicy dipping oil. Bacon-wrapped scallop appetizer was to die for. I could have eaten 20 of them. I had beef short rib ravioli in a red sauce. Large, moist and delicious. Perfect. My wife had lobster ravioli in a creamy/chunky lobster sauce. She raved about it, also. Chocolate/peanut butter cake for dessert to top it all off. Drinks were well made including coffee to top it off. Friendly, fast server. I wish I had gotten her name because she rocked! She earned a 50% tip! This may be a little bit of a ride for us but SOOOOO worth it. Our new #1 Italian place by far! Heated frozen food. Generic, not even close to Italian cooking. Place is worse than the fake Italian chains. Horrible. Service is the absolute worst. Wait times are insanely long even if you have a reservation. Mario is a big phony and Direnzo is the Mayor of All Things Plain. 2 big mouths, no balls, all talk.
