Food is always good. The procedure for seating guests needs to be improved. We gave our names to the hostess and waited for our name to be called. Time passed with a number guests that arrived after we arrived being called before we were called. Asked why we were not seated the young girl said she called us. We were standing five feet from the entrance and never heard our name called to be seated. I could understand this happening once but this has happened another time as well. I decided to try it again even though I've had some disappointing dishes in the past. On this hot summer evening, with few tables available, we were promptly seated at a high top next to the bar. After perusing their extensive menu and ordering a 6 ounce glass of merlot ($11) and cabernet $10), we selected the following: * Chicken Anthony $24 * Sarah's Scampi $26 Our waitress team was very nice and attentive, and even though it was busy, our dinners arrived quickly. The portion sizes were good and the food was hot, a good beginning. Unfortunately the shrimp was a little overcooked and dry, and the angel hair pasta was so dry I asked for some melted butter. It took a long time to get the butter, the waitress apologized that the kitchen forgot to make it and it arrived near end of our dinner. The Chicken Anthony was incrementally better, one piece of chicken was fairly tender and tasty, the other was tough and dry. After driving by this place forever we finally decided to stop and see why it's always so busy. It didn't take long to figure out why! We went on a holiday Monday and it was as busy as a Friday but with, thankfully, only a short wait. Inside was clean and the staff were super friendly. The food was fresh and everything came out warm. The flavors were good but not necessarily the highlight of our visit. The portions were large and we were able to take the leftovers home. Before the holiday I ordered a little smorgasbord for some friends out of this joint. Wowzaaaa! Food smacks! I love that they have a separate pull up area for takeout orders. After years of Brickstone being a solid option, it's unfortunate to feel like it's in decline. Last 3 visits have been disappointing - staff spread too thin, cold food, and declining quality. Loved this place. It is right on highway and from front it does not give you much to form a good opinion. But once you have given it a chance and enter, it pleasantly surprises you with warm vibes. Staff is very friendly and helpful. You get the seat right away. They have summer specials and lunch specials menu. They also have small bar which looked pretty good. We ordered popcorn shrim as starter and felt pretty good about it We had steak tips and veg burger with sweet potato fries. Everything was great. Steak was medium rare and was very tender and juicy. From out of town we did our research and the Brickstone seemed clean, spacious and with an interesting menu. All very true. I had the Cali turkey BLT and was glad that it was on a brioche roll and not three slices of bread (watching carbs). Mrs had Thai lettuce wraps and Lobster corn chowder. My friend and I had a great lunch here recently. We arrived shortly after opening on a Friday and the restaurant filled up really fast. It seems to be a very popular place. My friend ordered the baked fish and I honestly can't remember if it was cod or haddock (it was definitely a white fish) and it came with green beans and rice pilaf. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and we both really enjoyed our meals. For dessert my friend got the creme brûlée and said it was excellent, I got the bread pudding with pistachio, cranberries and white chocolate. From the outside Brickstone Kitchen is not impressive but once you are in this medium-sized eatery is a comfortable and welcoming place. The menu has many great food options that are specially designed by the head chef and owner. Brickstone Kitchen is located off busy 146 in Sutton. It's not a very large restaurant but seating is well organized. Two of us arrived around 4:00 pm on a Sunday afternoon. There were two tables available so we sat at a high top near the bar. Overall service was friendly and quick. We ordered a pizza special "The Clyde" and Broccoli Chicken Pasta. The pizza was topped with sausage crumbles, caramelized onions and ricotta cheese, I had them add pepperoni too. Both meals were delicious. Sifting yelp I found lots of take out options but this was the closest on my route and gave it a chance seeing other order pizza. sat at the bar and was given great and attentive service. But reviewing the menu I didn't see any pizza except for an appetizer size one. Disappointed I asked about it and the server said they don't put it on the menu but if there's an ingredient anywhere on the menu they promise to put it on your pie. Lovely crust I was starving but didn't wanna try anything g too wild for the first time - so opted for extra cheese on the classic pepperoni - so very good but I think the extra cheese weighed down what would have been a pretty nice pizza WITH GREAT CRUST but was a tad soggy. Grease though I love me some high quality cheese grease baby. Lovely paired with Blake's ciders. Such a fan but I did also grab a draft of allagash to wash it all down. Met some friends for lunch and we were all very pleased with the service and the food! We shared an appetizer of Mac & Cheese Balls, which were delicious, including the sauce, which provided just a little kick. Consensus was they are baked and not fried, so light and not greasy. Our waitress, Lindsey, was sweet and efficient, easily joining us in our offbeat humor. She took very good care of us. I chose a lunch entree from the specials: Lobster roll with fried whole belly clams. It came with both fries and onion rings, which was a real treat! It was a substantial meal, so much so that I did not eat the bread/roll. The lobster salad was good by itself, with chunks of lobster, very lightly seasoned with just enough mayo to keep it together. The fried clams were perfect. Everything fried was light and - no grease. The thinly sliced onion rings were a highlight - and a generous enough portion to share. My friends ordered fish tacos, a turkey triple decker (aka club sandwich) with sweet potato fries and baked scrod dinner. Plates were cleaned (except for two doggy bags) and nobody had room for dessert. Getting to the parking lot can be tricky if you're coming from the south. But it's well worth the effort of making the flip and a short backtrack. The place is bright and clean, with a small bar and split dining room. There's also an outdoor dining area, with picnic tables beneath a large tent. One member of our party had a small issue with her drink and the manager immediately took her lunch off the bill. Living locally we have wanted to visit this acclaimed little eatery for some time. In spite of high praise from many noble Yelpmates, I'll confess I had some apprehensions. Can fine food be found right on 146, in the spot formerly occupied by Honey Dew donuts? Seemed a long shot. My fears were unfounded. This place rocked. I've never been so happy to be wrong. My wife had the chicken Emma and said it was, and I quote, "just amazing ". I got a half order of the antipasto salad and a cup of the lobster corn chowder. The chowder was delicious. Thick and creamy and loaded with chunks of hearty potato and succulent bites of lobster. The salad was perfect. Had some nice chicken, tasty olives, artichoke, and other meats. We were seated quickly too, and although there were only 2 of us we were given a nice big booth that was very comfortable. Well done Brickstone Kitchen.
