We haven't dined here in quite some time, but decided to join some friends to this out of the way restaurant. It's somewhat in the middle of nowhere, so why was it difficult to get a reservation for Saturday night? Simply said, great food at reasonable prices. Our choices were 4:30 or 6:30, we chose to go early after a two-mile chilly walk along the beautiful Blackstone Canal, just 7 minutes away from the UxLocale. We were seated immediately and our waitress arrived in just moments. We were provided menus, waters and we ordered some drinks which arrived not long after. There were only a few patrons here as the UxLocale opens at 4pm. The menu changes weekly, and our party of four selected: * Warm Pecorino with Truffle Honey Cheese * Tuscan Shrimp Pappardelle * Tomato Carbonara Pappardelle * (2) 1.5" New York Strip Steak * Cannoli for Dessert Let's start with the steaks. In a word, delicious! Both were cooked perfectly medium rare, tender and juicy. Two sides are included, I got the Beet Salad (tasty and nicely dressed) and the potatoes with bacon which were awesome. A co-diner ordered the same dish but got the Caesar salad which he liked very much. We both agreed, a solid 5-star dinner at a reasonable $37 price. The shrimp plate looked beautiful and substantial. The diner loved it and ate every bite. The Tomato Carbonara Pappardelle was also tasty, albeit with strong pepper undertones. If you don't like a lot of pepper, you might try a different dish, or ask if the chefs can cut back on it. That said, I liked it and would be happy to order this. Most of the diners liked the Warm Pecorino with Truffle Honey Cheese Skillet (slices of Pecorino Romano cheese, warmed to a mild melt and drizzled with truffle-infused honey. The salty, sharp cheese and sweet, pungent honey are a classic pairing in Tuscan cuisine. Warmed and served on a cast-iron skillet). I liked it, one diner thought it was too salty, though that is the way it's described above. The dishes are all large, three of us brought home leftovers. We finished by sharing a cannoli dessert, which was excellent, crispy cannoli with a light and tasty filling. An outstanding dinner, with excellent services at a reasonable price (dinner for four with drinks was $209 before tip). A solid 5-stars on this visit. I wish I could leave a good review. I recently ordered takeout from here and ordered one of their specials- a vegan mushroom risotto. Unfortunately, I received their regular mushroom risotto which was loaded with parmesan cheese and chicken stock. I tried calling the restaurant twice that night after realizing this but couldn't get through. I sent a message on instagram and received an apology, and was told I would receive a refund the next morning. I did not. I waited over a week to reach out again, and my message was read and I received no response. The risotto was $21 and I couldn't eat it. I wouldn't recommend this place if you have food allergies, or if you're looking for somewhere with good customer service. read more

They serve some of the most delicious food in the Douglas/Uxbridge area. We go there several times a month.

I hit up this restaurant on a Friday evening. We did not have reservations, but were able to get a seat. The place was full, our table of 2 was squeezed between 2 other tables of 2. I practically made new friends... seriously, we talked to people at both tables on either side, it was hard to avoid when you're practically dining with them. I don't eat cheese and the majority of the items are Italian based, with cheese. Our waitress was fantastic working with my food restrictions and the kitchen was able to make me a Hawaiian type pizza with a BBQ base... no cheese! This modification was certainly not expected but appreciated. If you are in for wine or beer, you're covered. They had plenty of options! There was an added bonus of live music which made the experience even better. My experience was in March while it was cold out. I see that there is outdoor seating, I imagine this place has a wonderful vibe in the summer & I would definitely come back to experience it again! read more

The food was delicious and so fresh! Two of us had the chicken parm which was good portions, crispy with a delicious red sauce over ziti! The other two had chicken saltimbocca which were also great portions but both finished bc it was so good! The service was great, notifying us before we ordered that the pizzas would be a wait as they were training new cooks on the brick oven. That was helpful as we were going to order one! So we came back to give it another try. This time we made reservations and were seated inside. I would love to sit outside again if it wasn't really hot (last time we were miserably hot). It's beautiful inside and so glad we got to see it! My mom really wanted to try this restaurant after seeing it on Phantom Gourmet and I'm happy we brought her. Mom got one of the specials which was a pulled pork sandwich with hush puppies. She said it was delicious and could only eat half so we got the rest to take home. My husband and I both ordered one of the offerings that was featured on Phantom Gourmet, mine had homemade sausage in a vodka sauce and I'm not sure what my husbands was called but it had a white sauce and cherry tomatoes in it. We both enjoyed our selections very much. We all made sure to save room for desserts...my mom picked the almond macaroons and said they were delicious, my husband got the tiramisu (I tried it and it was so good) and I got the cheesecake which was good, but nothing outstanding. Last time we came my husband had an issue with the selection of beer and I'm happy to say this time his taste in beer has 'grown up' and he was very happy with the two different beers he tried!! Yay!!! Unfortunately, they only have beer and wine. I'm not a wine drinker and don't care for beer with my meals (too filling), so it would be great if they carried some hard seltzer's!! Unless you're from the area, you probably have never heard of this place, and that's too bad. A small, locally owned restaurant that delivers chef inspired food. The menu is small, but offers all local sourced ingredients. A nice open area kitchen, and small U-shaped bar. We were pre-warned that they use only local ingredients and when they sell out they sell out, so get there early. We were sat right away and our waitress was very nice. They have a great beer menu of local beers, but only in cans. We started with the Truffle Crusted Taters, potato wedges with Parmesan cheese and truffle oil. So good! We then each had a pasta dish. Wife the vodka sauce with homemade sausage and I the Tuscan Chicken. Both were amazing. To top it all off the pasta was made fresh and in-house. What a great time we had from start to finish at The UxLocale. The staff was amazing, so nice and helpful when it came to questions that we had about the menu. The food was just as good. Definitely going back to try the pizzas. Everyone around us seemed to order pizza and they smelled heavenly! We sat on the patio and there was live music which was such a fun surprise. The food was excellent and though it's a 40 minute drive we are going back for pizza. They looked awesome. The service was well above what you would expect in a casual dining restaurant. It was evident our waitperson was trained well. The night we went the restaurant was full as was the bar and the wait staff were hustling but the vibe was upbeat. We ordered a soup and the Bacon Crater Taters.... they were just ok for me. Thinking they would be tater tots I was disappointed. They did have good flavor just not what I was expecting. My wife ordered the gnocchi salad with orange cranberry goat cheese. It was delicious. I ordered off the special menu.... steak & cheese pizza. I ordered it extra cheese and not well done. Ambiance was beautiful, we sat on the patio on this summer night. I went the gals, they both got pizzas (BIG!!!) and I got the sausage and vodka sauce pasta. The pizzas came on a exciting platter. My friend thoroughly enjoyed the gluten free crust, she said "you can't even tell it's gluten free!" The pizza sauce was very smooth and my girlfriend said "I enjoyed the cheese even solo!", after picking up the scraps off of her plate. The service was average, but pretty great for being way down servers. The food came out swiftly. Tap water was actually exceptional. When I requested more, we got a milk jug full of crisp water. Didn't dine in , just ordered a pizza for take out . The pizza looked awesome so we were psyched when box was open . Taste was ok not as great as it looked . Crust was a 5 but rest of pizza was actually bland , not a lot of flavor . All it needed was a bit of salt . Placed looked cool from outside , it looks like it's in an old barn . We had another couple coming over and I decided to add the $17 Caesar as they mention in the listing the are large enough to share for our to go order. Unfortunately this salad is not even enough for one person to have, and the dressing takes up half the container. Really disappointed for the price. But the pizzas are always great.
