Today we decided to try the Golden Eagle for Chinese food. We ate there 25-30 years ago when the place was a real greasy spoon Chinese place. We had been checking out yelp and saw that the place looked like it was remodeled and the food ratings were pretty good. We ordered the tangerine chicken, Chicken and snow peas, beef chow fun and the house fried rice. We were told the order would be delivered in 45 min to 1 hour. About 35 minutes later the meal was delivered and I didn't have time to steam fresh rice. Don't get me wrong faster is better but no rice for the side was a bummer. The driver left and after the rice was finished we sat down to eat only to find we didn't receive our chicken and snow peas. I called the Resturant and a female answered. She could neither understand my English and me her English. She eventually put "Daniel" both our order taker and delivery boy on the line and after researching our order determined he had been the one who failed to tell the kitchen of our correct order. He told me it would be there asap. He arrived 20 minutes later and our meal was complete. After almost everyone had eaten the first delivery. Oh well mistakes happen but this is my reason for 3 stars. House fried rice was bland. Beef chow fun noodles were clumped and stuck together Tangerine Beef was pretty good but really sweet. The late arrived chicken and snow peas were great! We will try it again before we go back to our stand by Chinese place. Mandarin. This food establishmeny is nice and clean. The lady was quite attentive to make sure we're enjoying our food. While they serve american chinese food, they have some unique sauce/items to distinguish among others. As always, I appreciate the use of white meat chicken and reasonable price. We tried this Restaurant last night on the way home from the Sequoia Redwood National Forest, we ordered Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Shrimp Chow Mein, and War Won Ton Soup. I've never had fresher Orange Chicken in my entire life. Normally it's Red Gooey sticky and way to thick, not this one. The Orange flavor was over the top orangey and so delicious, almost like a see thru Orange thin glaze with the All White Chicken cooked to perfection . The Mongolian Beef was so tender and cooked to perfection. I love the way they served the Chow Mein noodles. They had Little WOK dishes that looked like a mini WOK- so cool and kept the noodles steaming hot. Last was the WAR WON TON soup, the owner, a very nice lady walked over to say the soup was a Homemade Chicken Stock and it sure tasted and looked like it. On the wall she pointed out that they WON awards for being the "BEST" Chinese in all of Tracy for 2016, 2017 and a new one coming 2018 and they haven't been open that long either...since 2006 I believe she said. This will be on a rotation coming back from any place we are heading home from the I-5 freeway. Wasn't far off the freeway at all- we live in Livermore we will definitely drive to Tracy which is a 25 minute ride for sure to have Chinese food here again. The prices will absolutely SHOCK you...they are prices from the 80's, I had to take a Double take in the menu it was so reasonable. When it was time to leave the owner gave my daughter a ENTIRE huge bag of guava candies individually wrapped, take a look....and we will be on a hunt at Ranch 99 after this bag is gone. Overall our experience at this restaurant was 5 STAR Plus. I'm sure glad we believed the REVIEWS- they were MORE than accurate in it being a EXCELLENT place to eat. I saw Tangerine Chicken on the menu too- wondering how different it would be over the Orange Chicken??? I can't begin to tell you how AWESOME the Orange Chicken was tho...and in my 58 yrs of eating Orange Chicken, this was by far one of the best I've had. I'm super picky since I'm a Gourmet cook. If I could give it 10 Stars I would- excuse the already half gone portions- dug in before I snapped the photo. All this was for 4 Adult people and we took home a big portion of it, not even joking. read more

I'm a week late on writing this review but I had to get it in. I am upgrading my review to say that it is the best Chinese food in Tracy! The people are so friendly that it is hard not to like the place because of this. She even asked me "are you the Sean that wrote the review in Yelp, thank you"! How cool is that? But its the food that deserves the good review. We ordered about three different chicken dishes and all of them were good. The Tai Chin Chicken and Lemon Chicken were especially good. Sophie is a very nice lady. Made suggestions since it was first time in. My order was a lil messed up but nothing major. Our favorite Chinese food in Tracy. The food is fresh, tasty, and healthy. Definitely not a fast-good Chinese restaurant where everything is covered in a sugary sauce. Serving size and cost is very reasonable. The only down-side is restaurant seating is limited, especially for Sunday dinner. Call ahead and order take-out on Sundays. read more

Ok, working in Tracy today and decided on Chinese. This place was right around the corner. Went in and see 1 man cooking and 1 lady serving. Tables were full so i thought ok goid pick. The only problem was that i was ignored. Even when the lady came up to the register to look at her tickets she stroll didn't acknowledge. So i asked may i have a menu. She told me to wait. So i asked i have to wait for a menu? With her back to me she never responded. So i kindly turned and decided this place wasn't worth my coinssssss. Will never! Recommend or be back. The price was average, wait time for delivery was average, and the food was yummy and plentiful. We will certainly order from them again! Went here for the first time today. YUMMY!! We ordered the chicken salad (dressing is to die for), chicken with prune sauce, shrimp with lobster sauce and BBQ pork chow fun. I love their food!! I eat meat but my parents are full on vegetarian( no egg). They make wonderful mushu with no egg and awesome kung pap tofu, spicy veggie chow mein! It's a must try for all vegetarians and they're very accommodating os vegans can give it a try as well ( may be extra depending on what's being added/ changed). read more

It has been at least a year since dining at the Golden Eagle. I must admit they redeemed themselves from my last visit. I ordered an appetizer for before dinner and the waitress advised us that it would take 15 minutes. I told her l didn't mind waiting and she waited and didn't rush the balance of our food. The Food was DELICIOUS! I usually never do restaurant reviews, but have to say, the food was Hot Fresh tasting with lots of flavor! We ordered mixed vegetables chow main,impressed with the variety of vegetables, Salt n Pepper spare ribs, very tender, House Special Chow Mein delicious, and my new favorite, Tangerine Chicken! This is a great little secret place that many pass by but should try. I have nothing but good things to say! I go there for the salt and pepper chicken wings the fresh ones take a little longer but worth the wait! I have also created my own dish there I have them put BBQ Chinese style pork on the snow peas and water chestnuts and a small side of white rice! It is the best meal around!
