Since when do you have to be id for birthday songs ??? we went there for my 18th birthday and They asked for an ID just to sing me a birthday song and maybe give me a whipped cream cake. Why do you need my ID for that? Maybe it was a little busy but it was busy last time I went and I still had a birthday song sung to me. you know if they had to do proof because a lot of people were lying, I understand, but the way my waitress went about it was pretty bad as I said I understand if she was busy, but she didn't need to talk to us like that. read more

If you want fresh food go after 5pm. I do not suggest the crawfish if you want Louisiana flavor crawfish. Some people like them but eww. We arrived at 5:30. The sushi was delicious. All of the food was hot and fresh. If you have a birthday celebrate here!!! We watched a large family have so much fun. The employees sang and had light up signs. I couldn't stop dancing! So mych fun! read more

Five stars because they only have five on the scale. I'd give ten stars. It's clean. It's fresh. It's VERY friendly. Boiled Crawfish and Shrimp not Louisiana spicy but very good. Very important - CLEAN RESTROOM. Pleasant music. Our favorite buffet by far. We drive over 30 miles to eat there two to four times a month. If we lived close, we would eat there every day. read more

Food is always fresh and hot. The seafood is boiled to perfection. The workers are very friendly.Best buffet I've been to in a long time.

I have never, anywhere, ever seen so many fabulous selections on the huge buffet. Being in Louisiana, I had hoped to see fresh seafood on the buffet and, WOW! Fresh boiled shrimp, oysters, crawfish, some crab items. Limitless Chinese items, salad bar, sweets. The place was full, and it is huge. Could not have been more surprised or pleased. read more

Best Chinese buffet I've ever been to. So much flavor in all the food! Staff was very friendly and accommodating keeping the restaurant very clean read more

This place serves a delicious variety of food and they never miss a beat! The service was great, I mean drinks constantly filled, and empty plates gone less than a minute after finishing. As for the setting, it was comfortable enough for me and my family to enjoy the buffet. What more could a person ask for when they're looking for a place that meets the needs of a large group of customers unsure of what to eat! read more

This place used to be decently good for a buffet but sadly it seems things have declined substantially. I have stopped in here several times but my most recent visit was the first in quite awhile and it has really gone downhill from what it used to be. Overall I don't think I will make a return visit as the food just wasn't great quality and the price was on the more expensive side for this type of food even when it is good quality. read more

Had the Saturday dinner buffet. Friendly staff, quick to refill drinks and clear empty plates, great variety of food. A few items were room temp like the fried fish but overall most things were above average for a buffet and only 1 or two things were below average but the good things more than made up for it . When I took the last 5 raw oysters I heard an employee tell another employee to bring some more oysters out ànd they kept the oyster section full the rest of the time I was there. The restaurant was busy but not so loud you couldn't enjoy your meal. I will definitely eat here again read more

Good afternoon fellow yelpers , I was eating my 10 plates off crawfish and everytime I came back to the table, my plates were still there. I was running out of room for big belly to fit. Anyways it was great. Goodnight yelpers read more

My aunt took me to this place for the first time. When I say it's the best buffet I've ever had I'm understating it. This is coming from someone that lived in Las Cegas for 17 years and ate at the best buffets around! There is absolutely nothing that ai can say bad about this place! read more

What an excellent lunch! Everything fresh, flavorful and delicious! The buffet was so goood!

A house gecko was on my crawfish AS I WAS EATING THEM. This place needs to be inspected fr this is disgusting I've heard people complain of stuff like this happening as well. The employees and manager practically laughed their way out of it and just said i could eat for free but at that point i left. I will never eat here again. read more

Golden Dragon Buffet II - HOUSE GECKO IN MY FOOD! - Chinese Near Me - Slidell, Louisiana

We didn't like it. We wanted to try a buffet style, but should have known it wasn't wouldn't be good. We left after one plate. The reviews were good, so we thought to give it a try. But, regretted it. My husband said it was cold, and I couldn't chew the chicken. It was full of people, so I just don't understand. read more

In a old steak house building had a hard time finding the place. If you can't find something you like in here do not come to a Buffet. Not a big crab fan which they had a lot of fried, boiled, steamed and salad. Typical buffet on the Chinese items. Egg foo yong very good. One of the best selections of fried items I have seen in awhile. Worth trying if you are in the area read more

I stopped in here for a late dinner on a Friday night. It was pretty busy even though it was late, but I was still able to sit right away. The buffet was delicious and my waiter was sweet. I would definitely eat here again. read more

Myself and 2 friends went to have dinner at the golden dragon last night 10/02/21.when we left to the parking lot our female friend got vomiting sick, myself and other friend when we got back to house got vomiting ill. Today I called and talked to manager who immediately got on defensive saying 600 people ate there yesterday and nobody complained. I explained that if only one of us got sick I'd understand it might possibly not be place. He told us to go to the doctors doctor and hung up. Not really the response I was looking for. We all had the ice tea there. If anyone else got sick on this date there please respond. Obviously will not risk my health eating there again read more

Just had dinner here a few minutes ago. The food was flavorful but some dishes were just a tad bit too salty for my taste. The buffet was big and food stayed steaming hot at all times. The veggies were crispy and not overcooked. Their egg custard cake was a bit different from the others that I've tasted from other Chinese buffet/dim sum places I've been to. It is wrapped with crispy phyllo (filo) wrap, not too sweet, warm, soft, and so fun to eat! See photo posted here. The place was clean and can hold quite a lot of people. The service was good and the price was affordable. They served a variety of food including sushi and seafood. For a variety of good, flavorful, and tasty Chinese buffet in Slidell, LA... the Golden Dragon Buffet II is a good place to go. read more

Have been in the area for a year now and have been going to this restaurant. I've always gotten my food to go so this is not a review on dine-in service. I've never seen a food server or host/hostess without a mask or gloves. For the most part, they're pretty diligent on making sure guests have a mask or provide them with one while inside with exception of actively eating. They also require guest to where gloves when spooning food and will politely ask you to glove up if they see someone without. The food area is clean. My experiences here have been great. The food is good and the establishment takes the spread of Covid-19 seriously. read more

Yesterday my fist visit in chinese buffet. Planty items and much good taste for really cheap price. Service very friendly and fast drinks refile. Before, i know only the Buffet in casinos, very great food but a very good price too. On all People... chinese buffet ist not casino buffet. And the price a lot different too. For 12 dollar ~ all you can eat buffet ~ i not can become 5* food buffet, but is a good 3* buffet for less money. I happy to found this buffet restaurant :-) For sure i will visit golden dragon soon again. read more

I was hesitant to go here, but my mother assured me that it was good. Most of the buffets I've had are just mediocre or are big disappointments. Not here!!. The employees are very friendly, with lots of smiling faces. It is clean, and the food is so good. You will not be disappointed. read more

I don't where to start. Dirty men's room. Unfriendly service. The food seems to have been laying around for quite awhile. Not tasty at all. Drive the 30 minutes to Metairie and check out the East/West Chinese buffet at the corner of Veterans and Severn. You won't be disappointed. read more

Golden Dragon has a good variety of food to offer and excellent service, My only suggestion would be to liven up the atmosphere make the inside more new or at least not so run down looking. read more

I used to eat here a lot... only for the sashimi and other seafood. I put up with the dirty carpet and the rude staff for a few select items on the menu and a 40 minute drive... The manager or owner person who barks at the customers is the worst. I took my mom and twins there and he literally treated my kids like a 1/2 person combined. He acted annoyed that we wanted a table big enough for 4 people and even argued with us to the point we almost left on the spot. Sadly, that was not the first time he literally fought with us about a table. Moving on... want crab crackers? You will be finished with and entire plate of crab using your fingers and fork/knife before they come. In fact, the server may bring them after she brings your check and takes all your used plates. Want enough napkins to clean the seafood juice off your fingers? You have to ask for them (at a buffet) and then when you do get them they give you a tiny stack of napkins that you need at least 3 at once because they are so cheap they disintegrate and then you are asking for more every 2 minutes... then surprise! More rudeness... Want sushi or sashimi? There is a lady standing back there behind the bar but she is rarely making items. When she does make the items she moves slower than a snail. I waited over an hour for her to put out more sashimi (3 varieties with no more than 3-4 pieces of each) and ended up leaving before she started making them and all the while I was watching her stand back there and eat her own dinner. So if you are looking for a place to eat that is stained, somewhat dirty and sticky with super rude employees that will even yell at you and fight with you and a place that might put more of what people actually come for out before you're done eating and leave for a decent price... this is the place for you. If not, there is a similar place in Covington that is actually clean and the staff is pretty timely AND friendly. Golden Dragon has lost my business for good after several (many) chances and I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to eat the norm Chinese buffet items and crab legs with your fingers and regular silverware and wipe your hands on your pants. read more

Put a plate with rice on it next to the stack and the employee wiped the rice off and put it in the clean pile. Bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. No crab legs. I don't know if they only do it on weekends or what but that was the only reason we came here. The ice cream cart has little kids digging into it. Needless to say I don't suggest anyone coming here. read more

Originally from southern MS, I know buffets! Also, I have tried copious buffets throughout life. While having sworn them out of my nutritional conquest, thisa buffet is very different. The sushi is fresh AND varied. They don't simply provide the California and other blah rolls you see elsewhere. I have never eaten sushi on a confident basis EVER from a buffet, in fact. The savory food is fresh, crisp, and tasty. They make egg custard tarts in a phyllo cup. Add some praline ice cream atop, and you have a great dessert. DO NOT weigh yourself the day after. It's not your fault you wanted to binge. We are ALL guilty! read more

I went to this place for take-out around 7pm. They charge $4.99 per pound on the dinner plate. Mine totaled $10 plus tax. I believe the lunch take-out plate is $1 cheaper. The fried rice was yellow which was new for me and I've had my fare share of Chinese food. The rice was hard as if it had been sitting too long or under cooked. The chow mein seemed to be fresh and tasted okay. I have a variety of meats and was not impressed with any of it. However, I did get this tempura fried zucchini that was wonderful. I would only go back to get these. I wouldn't go back here to eat otherwise. read more
