Went for Sunday brunch specifically for all-you-can-eat snow crab. $50 each. Couldn't get meat out of the crab legs. They were wet, soft, and rubbery. Tried 4 buckets at different times. All the same. Strongly believe they were Saturday night leftovers, reheated. On top of that, the room was very cold, as was much of the other food. Service was good. On my recent trip to Florida we didn't get a chance to indulge in a lot of seafood so on the drive back we looked up this buffet that touted all you can eat crab?! I was intrigued and it was the perfect stop on my drive back to Texas. It's a bit off the major freeway but when you arrive you realize the Hollywood Casino is huge and this buffet is fitting to accompany it. The line to get seated packs up but the seating area is huge. It's $50 per adult, kids 3 and under are free 4-12 are $25. For the adults it was definitely worth the price. They serve the snow crabs and the Dungeness crabs in small buckets with about 2 clusters each. The snow crabs were okay but the Dungeness is where it's at! It was super juicy. They have cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and hot butter to dip. I enjoyed the hot butter but ended up making my own lemon pepper dipping sauce later as well. This alone is worth the buffet price, but they have prime rib, steaks, and many other items to sample as well. Short and simple come for the crabs! You won't regret it. read more

Nothing short of amazing! I mean, this place has really impressed me with their Mother's Day Brunch. As my first time here, I enjoyed everything offered...from the mimosas upon entering, to the food, ambiance and the highlight of the evening, the amazing saxophonist, Jordan Chaldean. Oh my goodness, he elevated the experience to heights unimaginable. The music was absolutely stunning, the food was hot, fresh and delicious and the service was excellent. Our server Nicole was the best! I will say that their buffet line is nowhere near as big as the Silver Slipper but their hospitality sure tops them any day. Their dessert bar is one huge 3/4 circle of deliciousness and then the salad bar covering the other 1/4....womp, womp, womp! LOL! Salad is a good thing, never mind me LOL Anyway, I'd certainly return and would recommend others to visit as well. read more

They had me at crab legs n lobster! This buffet was well worth the ride to Bay St Louis. We got here when it opened at 2:30. Food was fresh and delicious. They no longer require reservations so there was already a line when we arrived. Cashiers are fast so we got in pretty quickly. There was a nice selection of food and desserts. Crab legs were well seasoned and my steak was a perfect med rare. The lobster was a bit rubbery but the overall buffet was still pretty great. Although masks arent required, it would have been nice if those serving the food were wearing one..covid aside..that just seems more sanitary to me. Will be back fo sho! read more

Although there is plenty of competition in the realm of casino buffets, I still really enjoy Epic Buffet. Even on Saturday night, there's not a long line or challenge dealing with masses of people. You might think, that would imply it's not that good, but it is, very good! On Wednesday through Sunday, that's when I have been and the price is $50. I know some consider that a bit steep but it's seafood and includes both snow crabs and Dungeness crabs. I've bought these frozen at the grocery store and spent so much more, they weren't good, they made fridge smell funny, and my garbage after a few days, it smelled of a rotting corpse - it's not worth the effort to eat these splendid crabs at home. Epic Buffet is the spot! The servers are nice, they are attentive, and you don't feel bad going through a dozen plates. The gumbo was great and the fried chicken, it was simply glorious, what dreams are made of and I had plenty. I'm sure my sodium level and blood pressure is sky high but this great meal, it was worth it. I drive from Mandeville and the 45 minutes driving home, I reflected on how great their buffet was tonight. Strangely, I don't care for buffets too often but this one, it hits the spot. read more

Love the all-you-can-eat crab legs, and lobster. Crab legs were a bit soft. Was only able to crack the main leg on about 10% of the legs. Needed to split the legs down the side with my fork. Quite a bit of work. I work to get every bit of meat from each joint and knuckle. Lobster was fine, a bit overcooked. Chef sliced turkey was excellent. Sliced prime rib was okay. We've given this place 3 tries, each several months apart, over the past year. The first time, the boiled seafood was good enough to make up for the garbage casino buffet food. The second and third time the boiled seafood was just as unfresh, stale, unseasoned, and low-quality as the rest of the buffet. It's looking like the era of casino buffets on the coast that are worth the drive and almost worth wreaking of cigarettes the whole way home is over with. The casino is quite nice looking. The buffet area looked clean and very large. Not a lot of decoration, or anything interesting to look at. The waiting line was long when we got there, but moved along pretty quickly. The food selection was ok.... not as much as I thought there would be. The quality of the food was not great, in my opinion. It didn't taste bad, but it didn't taste great either. The boiled shrimp had a slimy feel to them, and the desserts weren't fresh tasting at all. The crab, however, was awesome! They had snow crab and dungeness, and they served it to you in buckets on the buffet line. Just pick up a bucket or two, and go . The waitress was very good about taking away the dirty plates, and was very friendly. The tables were just not conducive to having enough room for three people to eat though. What with the buckets of crab, the dirty plates, and the plate you were still eating on... it was just a mess. I'd probably go back again, but only because of the crab legs. read more

The only thing Epic of this Buffet is disaster. We just had their Easter Sunday Brunch for $49.95 each. Have you ever had a dining experience that actually made you angry? I never had until today. The carving station had smoked sausage (not sure why that needed to be carved) roast turkey and Prime Rib. The Prime Rib was cooked perfectly with a nice seasoned crust. Unfortunately it was by far the toughest Prime Rib I have ever encountered. They apparently charge this price when they feature crawfish, crab legs, and Royal Reds, a locally caught shrimp. I had the Royal Reds at other places and found them to be firmer and sweeter than regular shrimp. Here, they were bland and barely warm. crab legs were so thin they didn't appear worth the effort so we passed. The crawfish was quite good and well seasoned. Other proteins included grilled ribeyes and leg of lamb, both in the steam trays and not surprisingly tough. Salad bar was fine, you can't really screw that up. I tried to serve up some peach cobbler but there was so much stuck to the spoon you couldn't succeed. The same result occurred with the blueberry cobbler. The reason I tried the blueberry as they had just brought out a new pan, unfortunately they put the cobbler encrusted spoon from the previous pan in the new one so all I could really do is move the stuff around without being able to capture some for my plate. After trying a few other items, I will give them credit for selection, I opted for a made-to-order omelette which was just fine. The staff was very warm and friendly, our server was prompt, courteous, and efficient. It's too bad the food didn't match the quality of the staff. I know not to normally expect menu quality at a buffet except with a price of $49.95 one should be able to walk away with something other than regret. I don't understand how any chef worth his muster could present this much disappoint and be proud of his effort. As this was our first visit to the property, other than a brief walk through, we had planned to spend the balance of the day in the casino but we figure we had already lost enough. We are vacationing in the area for a month but so absolutely no reason to return to this property. read more

So we went to the Easter champagne brunch they offer. This place has some of the best seafood on the Gulf Coast I mean the whole coast from Texas to florida. Let see royal red shrimp were amazing seasoned to perfection. The dungeness crabs were so good no need for butter dip and more than you could eat in 3 lifetimes. Don't worry I tried. The rive yes we're being grilling one after the other the entire time I was there the au jus was a Great sause for the steak even though it probably didn't need it. I will go ever easter from now on. Also gonna go on my birthdays from now till death. Line was about 35 mins which was very fast considering they were putting a special event. I definitely recommend this place read more

Went there yesterday for the all you can eat crawfish and crab legs and it was horrible. Worst boiled crawfish I ever had: Dry, no juice, not seasoned well. The open tray they were in literally had no juice. It's like they used the previous days crawfish that they had already boiled and warmed them back up to serve again. Complete trash. And the crab legs weren't much better. First bucket was ok but second and third was garbage. It was like the legs were rubber. The shell were soft and then when you managed to tear them apart, the meat broke instead of it staying intact with a strip of meat when it's cooked right. I was done with that place after that. I don't know how these idiots don't know how to boil seafood. This is what we all know how to do down here. We are at the casino and just left the Epic Buffet. The only thing Epic it is how over priced and rude the people were. We made a reservation so that we wouldn't have to wait. Normally if you make a reservation you notify someone you are there. I went to notify an older gentleman who had just been giving a group of employees a pep-talk. I asked if we should stand in a different line and he Very rudely said "no just go get in the line with everyone else" I asked "with the line so long, what if we are late for our reservation?" His response was "oh well" as he walked away. My Mother-in-law asked the cost of the buffet and the girl behind the counter said "$42.95". We normally bring my mother-in-law here and it has been wonderful before but now it won't be the next place we go. We did end up in the grill and had the fish basket. It was good and quick. Not the biggest buffet around but most definitely had some high quality items (for a buffet). Service is quick and speedy. You are limited to one seafood item per trip, but you could always circle back and grab another plate without issues. We decided to eat here because we were camping at a local state park. We had my husbands cousin with us and this is what she wanted. The last time we are here the wait in line was over two hours. Needless to say, I was very excited that we were able to pay and be seated within minutes. Seafood, BBQ, Italian, Asian, American, the grill, a salad bar and a massive dessert counter. It was like all foods were included. The famous king crabs were insanely delicious. The dessert counter was not only beautiful but crazy tasty. Husbands cousin tried about nine different desserts. The waiter we had was very attentive and super polite. The lack of the fifth star was due to The Grill. The steaks were not wonderful and the cook was having issues with flame ups. Went there for the first time on a Thursday evening--I wanted to compare it with the Silver Slipper Buffet, which is the main buffet I eat on the coast. My wife is the gambler in the family, and her comps result in eating there a lot. The Dungeness crabs at the Slipper pack the place, but for most of this year, they have been way too salty. Unfortunately, Hollywood's buffet is just as bad or worse than the Slipper. They had no crabs the night we were there and we paid almost 30 bucks apiece--they had oysters on the half shell, but they looked like dark grey gum drops sitting in their shells, so I passed. The shrimp were overcooked, but the fried chicken was fresh and seasoned well. I was out in Vegas last October, and the casino buffets we ate at, Paris and Flamingo had much better food in my opinion. read more

We brought the family for lunch (me, wife, 16, 10 & 3 year old). Cost was Around $55 bucks - which is wayyyyy cheaper than eating anywhere in Old Town BSL. I don't recall any complaints from those in attendance. The Dessert Bar is reason alone to visit this "Epic" buffet. I am sure there are more options for the dinner time rush - but I didn't feel cheated for the lunch time seating either. I plan to go back sometime soon. read more
