Rude staff. They actually hung up on me once cus they ran out of what I wanted to order. So I told them no thank u and they hung up on me. I also ordered chicken satay once and it wasn't fully cooked. The chicken was still raw. That can really get someone seriously sick. Thai food is without a doubt one of my favorite cuisines. I eat it all the time no matter where I am. That means New York, Texas, on the road traveling in Ann Arbor or Florida or the West Coast. I love Thai food and I've been to Thailand How terribly convenient it is, and reassuring to find a reasonably good Thai restaurant around the corner from my house in Mandeville. I've tried one other Thai restaurant here, can't remember the name. But Thai Pepper I think tasted better, the flavor were better for sure. it was a little under spiced I will say, but you can always ask for chili oil and take care of it yourself. The only thing worse than the food is the service. The waiter acted personally offended when he brought the wrong entrees and we didn't want them. He urged us to try them and they tasted like leftovers from the lunch buffet. We politely declined and said we just want what we ordered. He rolled his eyes and took the plates away. I order majority of the time through delivery apps, and the food always comes hot and fresh! My only complaint would be that the spice levels are not Americanized! If you are sensitive to spice, medium is like eating a jalapeño and the seeds! With that being said, I usually put in the comments that I would like the spice to be in between medium and mild, which they do and it always comes perfectly seasoned for my taste. I like when I try a place I haven't tried in a while and it is better than I remember. That is exactly what happened when I ordered to-go from Thai Pepper the other night. After a long night at work I didn't feel like cooking. The owner of my favorite Thai restaurant has had some legal trouble that precludes me from ever eating at his restaurant again (if it were to open), so I really need a new favorite place. While I am not sure if Thai Pepper will become that place, my meal was considerably better this time around. I ordered the Tom Yum soup with chicken and cashew nut chicken. The soup was very good. It was slightly spicy, but not overpowering. For the cashew chicken, I wanted it prepared Thai Hot. When ordering she asked how many stars. I had no idea there was a star rating, but apparently five stars is as hot as they can make it. I was very pleased that they were willing to go that spicy on a phone order. Oftentimes you have to be a regular to get that level of heat. Besides being incredibly spicy, it was delicious. In summary, my last trip impressed me. This is my go to Thai place on the northshore. We travel from Hammond. The local Hammond Thai doesn't have drunken noodles. The portion sizes and prices are right. My favorite is the chicken drunken noodles. It comes packed with veggies like zucchini, broccoli, green beans, bell pepper, onions, cabbage, and carrots. It's packed with flavor. The restaurant itself is not very packed. There was only 1 table i saw that had 2 people but other than that, thats it. I got the beef pad thai. It was a good portion and included limes and some peanuts to mix in. The taste was good. They didn't ask me if i wanted it spicy so I'm not sure if that was an option, but I would have definitely liked it more if it were spicy. Todd and I had the urge for Thai food after talking to my mom so we headed to the Thai Pepper in Mandeville. We went in for lunch and met (who I think is the owner) a little Thai lady. She was so funny because she reminded me of my mom and Aunt Naung. Todd was being indecisive and changing his mind and the lady said "you make up your mind!" just like how they would have. She said she goes back to Thailand once a year and she's leaving in 2 months. She was very personable and accommodating, the service was great! The restaurant is in a little strip mall that you normally would just pass on by, but this place was really good! There was over 75 items on the menu, including the Thai soup that Todd and I love. The restaurant itself is decorated in the typical asian restaurant fashion, one that resides in Chinatown or the asian district of the bigger cities.
