Lunch today with the wife. Intended to try Chopsticks, a new Chinese restaurant nearby but it wasn't open for lunch on Mondays and Tuesdays. Golden Chick was nearby. We were greeted by a very unfriendly counter lady.and we should have taken the hint and left. We ordered chicken tender combos which came very quickly. The tenders looked undercooked and tasted like flour. The fries were outstanding though! Not recommended! Try Bush's Chicken just down the road! read more

I made a $70 order. It was missing many items, had wrong items, and wrong flavors. I already made one review of this. I got an automated apology after yelp review. Tried calling MANY times. But they refuse to answer the phone. I made a couple of messages on their website. I received notice that they received my complaint. But not one attempt to contact me about my complaint has been made yet. Why would I ever wish to go there again. All I can do is make LOTS more negative reviews until they reimburse me. read more

I have been to this Golden Chick at least 100 times in the last 10 years and have to brag on it. Everytime I come here, whether it is the drive thru or inside the employees are always in a good mood, smiling, and seem to be happy to help you. Sometimes the rolls have been hard, which is one reason the 4 not 5 stars. I learned the first few times to always check the rolls and they will replace them for you. They don't even give you a hard time. My kids fight over the chicken tenders but I go fo a good leg and my husband is a breast man. I haven't had and piece of fried chicken i didn't like here. Now, the roast...again contributes to the 4 stars. BUT I don't go to a friend chicken place for roast chicken...c'mon man!! read more

Golden Chick is that food you want that reminds you of the good old days and is always consistent! I've been going to Golden Chick for over a decade since my apartment used to be right by it. Fast forward 15 years later, it's still one of my favorite places for tenders, gravy and sweet rolls. My mom was craving their fries during the pandemic so I found my way here. The dining area is closed so it's drive thru only. No problem! The drive thru line was long, but when I left it was wrapped around the corner. I came at the right time! The line was moving fairly quickly. I wanted to try the shrimp and we ordered the usual. The chicken tenders and fries were good. My mom loves their cole slaw. The shrimp was good. The Lotta Zing is amazing! I like to throw that on the tenders or in the gravy to spice things up. You can actually buy it to sprinkle on your food at home. Score! Customer service was great here. The chicken tenders are so good it's hard to believe they are oven-fried! Moist, fresh, and delicious. The battered fries are awesomely crispy. We've also had the mashed potatoes and gravy, the coleslaw, fried okra, and the dirty rice on various takeout trips. The fried okra and battered fries remain the favorites. I ordered the chicken tenders and fries. First they forgot the dipping sauce. They were barely warm. Out of 6 only one was bigger than my thumb. They were supposed to be half regular and half spicy, no go. If that's what they call spicy Oregon has something for you! All of them were regular. Strike 3. I figured I would give their new cod fish sandwich a try. It is not what they make it out to be, honestly. There is so much fatty batter on this thing, that's all you taste. Disgusting. I am a total believer in their chicken. But I for sure don't not recommend that the fish sandwich. Wow, use to be a decent place but obviously Popeye's is taking the business. I see why, went there tonight and can't even eat my food. Yeast roll hard and chicken seems like it's been sitting for HOURS, Super Dry (dark meat) and even the corn nuggets were dry. Shame, shame, shame to even serve this to your customers. My wife and I happened to show up on one of the 2 days they do chicken livers and gizzards, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. She says the fried chicken livers are the best she's had in the area. She wanted to try the chicken and ordered one individual chicken strip. She loved the livers and chicken strip. She was glad she had ordered the small order of livers. Their idea of small is a lot. Could only eat half of it. I devoured some of the tenderest, juiciest chicken tenders I've ever had, the #1 came with a side, 4 tenders and an awesome yeast roll...the gravy was awesome. Also, they were out of medium cups so they gave us small drinks. No price adjustment which we were ok with had they not messed up the rest of the order. I was scared. I was scared that going to Golden Chick 30 minutes prior to closing that I would receive food that had been sitting under a lamp. I was worried that my fried okra would be spat in, because there are a lot of people ready to get the hell out of work, and do not want to deal with any customers in the last hour that they are open. I shouldn't have worried. What an awesome night crew. They took the time to reconstruct my all-over-the-place order into a neat family pack that saved them time and me money. They did not act at all in the least bit annoyed, and I'm sure I over apologized, but each apology was waved away and returned with a smile. They did this with 2 cars sitting behind me in the drive thru, as cool and collected as a fast food crew could be that close to closing. The food I got was HOT and definitely fresh. Blown away by the measures these guys took to make sure I got the best deal paired with hot, terrible for you, food. read more

After waiting, they left the bag sitting at the pickup area and never brought it to our table -- even though it was a dine-in order with a young child. My son had to get up and bring his own cold Happy Meal back to the table. The fries and nuggets were already cold and soggy by the time he could eat. I asked to speak to the manager. The woman who came over was no help at all. She acted like just another employee, gave a bunch of excuses, and offered zero solutions or apology. I even asked for her name so I could include it, but she wouldn't give it to me. This location has seriously gone downhill. Between the lack of basic table service for dine-in customers and the unhelpful "manager," I won't be coming back. Very disappointing experience for my son

I'm pretty sure that's what he says. Anyways, he eats at this burger drive-thru place called Top Notch. Thanks to this movie representing Austin so well, the movie and the restaurant became a cultural touchstone of the Texas capital. Fifty years later, Top Notch opened their second location in the middle of Hutto, Texas. I've been to the Hutto Top Notch location three times now. Once to try, once because of its convenience during an event, and once for lunch with co-workers. Each time, I've left with the same impression: it's alright, alright, alright. That's what the quote was. I remember now. I've only had their burgers. Twice, their cheeseburger, and yesterday, the Top Pick Burger. All things considered, it's a decent burger. There is nothing obscene or wrong with the burger. It's just a burger. The Top Pick Burger seems like it could be fun and special, but it's really just a worse burger compared to their cheeseburger. It's not bad, but I didn't find it a better replacement for a cheeseburger. Their menu has a lot more options than just their charcoal-broiled hamburgers. They have fried chicken, chicken sandwiches, seafood combos, and their Top Dog sandwich. Two hot dogs in a sandwich. Something I'd whip together if I was seeing stars off Benadryl. Their fries are pretty good, though pretty simple: skinny, crispy, and salty. Good fries. Their shakes are thick without it being a fight for my life to drink. I don't know if my lack of intense enjoyment was thanks to recently having Johnny Rockets and being more impressed with their attempts at crafting a retro '60s burger joint, but Top Notch is more or less Middle-of-the-Pack Notch.

I called and spoke to the manager, who said she'd jot down my name so I could get a replacement meal at no charge. Tonight, my daughter, my two young grandsons and I dropped by to enjoy some dinner. We placed everyone's orders,then I mentioned that I should be getting my meal free, as per the manager. The young woman taking our order called someone to the front. I repeated the info and gave her the date of my visit. She looked through a binder, then told me my name wasn't on there. I showed her the bank charge for that date on my phone, and she just turned around and went to the back. We waited, and waited ... nothing. In the meantime, my 4 yo grandson is getting antsy, saying he's so hungry. People are walking in, and I don't want to hold up the line. I tell the cashier that I'll just pay for everything, but my daughter makes the call to just leave. If you mess up and say you're going to replace a meal at no charge, THEN DO IT!! Don't make a customer out to be a liar, or even worse, A THIEF!!! I just recently moved to Hutto, and I can definitely say that the Dairy Queen here won't be getting anymore of my business.
