What was to be a nice evening dinner turned out to be a humiliating experience. I had gone through the drive-thru window four days earlier and had experienced an issue with my order. I called and spoke to the manager, who said she'd jot down my name so I could get a replacement meal at no charge. Tonight, my daughter, my two young grandsons and I dropped by to enjoy some dinner. We placed everyone's orders,then I mentioned that I should be getting my meal free, as per the manager. The young woman taking our order called someone to the front. I repeated the info and gave her the date of my visit. She looked through a binder, then told me my name wasn't on there. I showed her the bank charge for that date on my phone, and she just turned around and went to the back. We waited, and waited ... nothing. In the meantime, my 4 yo grandson is getting antsy, saying he's so hungry. People are walking in, and I don't want to hold up the line. I tell the cashier that I'll just pay for everything, but my daughter makes the call to just leave. If you mess up and say you're going to replace a meal at no charge, THEN DO IT!! Don't make a customer out to be a liar, or even worse, A THIEF!!! I just recently moved to Hutto, and I can definitely say that the Dairy Queen here won't be getting anymore of my business. read more

Deep summer heat of TX requires cold treats and Hutto's local DQ provides! This time of year there tend to be some long lines, but they go pretty fast and the inside service is on top of their game as well. We have never run into an issue of this location being out of anything either. Even though it's been over 100 degrees most days they still flip the cups upside down which is a testament of how cold they serve the ice cream to you. We always purchase a take home box of the Cherry Dilly Bars. They also have chocolate and butterscotch take home boxes as well. You can even order them through the drive-thru! read more

After asking for a chicken basket a drink was added on without me asking so I assumed it was part of the combo, it was not. The drink was an additional 2 dollars, now thats already bad enough paying for something I didn't ask for but on top of that they upsized my drink without telling me! Sure it was only .30¢ but that's on top of a drink I didn't ask for nor know I was paying for. What's even worse is the lady who rung up said order was the manager teaching a new hire. Ordered a peanut buster parfait tonight and when I received it, I can tell they dumped the last remaining peanuts from the bin on top of it, but I didn't think anything of it when I drove off. Turns out, all the salt that was sitting at the bottom of the bin ended up on top of my parfait. Needless to say, it was a salty disgusting mess that was completely inedible. This was the last straw for me and I decided to leave this review. Since I live close by and frequent this location, I can tell you first hand that the food quality and service there is not very good as of late and use to be miles better when we first moved to Hutto. Honestly, the food is quite good. I really like every menu item they have, especially the chicken tenders and blizzards. The soda is quite good as well. The service is quite well, the people there always come out with the food quickly. The inside of the restaurant is quite peaceful, and it's always a calm place to be at. Dairy Queen is Dairy Queen. It's been around since I was a kid and I'm sure we all have great memories of DQ. The first taco I ever ate came from DQ. In fact, it was my first job when I was a teenager. The location in Hutto seems special -- not your ordinary DQ. It's huge and has lots of space, even outdoor seating...perfect for a late night treat. Their soft serve ice cream is the stuff dreams are made of. Since we bought a new home in Hutto this summer, we've visited this location many times and have always been pleased. Here's the rub...we like to buy the quarts of soft serve vanilla and will often buy 3-4 at a time to keep in our freezer. Drove up 15-20 minutes before closing to get some quarts one night. All summer, they've had a person taking orders in a tablet standing outside in the sun (at least they gave him an umbrella to get out of the heat) which seems cruel to me but he always seemed happy and friendly. Seeing no one outside with a tablet, and since it was almost closing time, we drove straight to the window. Not another soul, except employees, was there. Ordered our quarts and apologized for coming in near closing time. The reply from the girl who took our money? She chastised us for driving up to the window without stopping at the stupid speaker first. Literally told us to never do that again and said they wouldn't be able to take our order if we didn't stop at the speaker first! Werner really supposed to hook a U-turn and go talk to her thru the speaker? Really? Why? What's the dang difference? I could understand if they had a line at the window, since this would mess up their kitchen's traffic flow, but why this admonishment in an empty restaurant, especially after we'd apologized and been friendly about it? I don't like rude people that want to dictate silly rules for no reason. It's left a dark cloud over this location for us since we dealt with this hateful little gatekeeper. Every DQ I have visited has either had okayish food but Horrible customer service, or Good Customer service but the food being undercooked. Thankfully, this DQ has the best of both worlds! Wonderful customer service and great food! My only 2 complaints is when you place a big order (4-5 people) and if it looks busy, they sometimes forget to give me one of the orders, or if I ask to remove onions or whatever, they don't do that. Also, don't forget to ask for extra ketchup because for some reason two packets is enough for 5 people lol read more

The Dreamsicle Dipped Cone is life changing!!! I love the orange flavored dipped cone and hope they add it to their menu as it's available for a limited time. Since this location just opened recently, we were in the drive thru waiting for our ice cream cone. The drive thru moves fast. It was most definitely worth the wait! The service was extremely bad, i came in today and waited for 2hrs on 2 doordash orders that weren't made/packed up yet from 7:57pm-9:57pm. Meanwhile the other online orders they had that were 20-30mins in were helped before me and they kept ignoring me when i waited the longest. I waited just as long as the puddle on the floor that wasn't cleaned up and multiple employees walked over to not even put a wet floor sign or even bother to clean it. I work in the restaurant industry myself aside from doordashing and the way they handled a busy situation to where they kept ignoring an order that was 2hrs in was extremely ridiculous. The Hutto-location traffic is hard to get into with a CHICK-FIL-A being right next to it.. but once you get into there parking lot' it's worth it. The food is good and you have a variety menu. I like especially the Steak Finger Country Basket, Jalitos Ranch Hungr-Buster, The Dude-Chicken Fried Steak Sandwich, Tacos, Dipped Chocolate Cone, Shakes etc..the food is delicious and hot. And the treats are good and cold for them warmer days. Service is great, store is clean and the team is on top of it. A fun atmosphere for all. You have a drive-thru, patio and sit inside selection. Finally got a chance to try this location out as they are part of a franchise that in past had great food. The Palm valley 79 location is not part of this group and is terrible! I'm a fan of there tacos and this being a new location you would hope that would be the case. 4/18/19 about 3:pm the drive thru one car. I ordered the 3 tacos for $5 and some fries $2 and Coke $2.29= $10.05 Got my order and pulled over to side to eat. The fries were good and hot, The tacos wow... were is the beef? I mean it was like a casket with no body inside. The shell was crunchy. But i was really wanting to like these. I added some sauce to get more volume per taco and it tasted great. Please make sure you cooks fill the shells, I know everyone gets a burger here but for us taco lovers please correct this. And drive thru does require napkins.... Why is it that this location never carries the same items that the other locations carry, Especially the Jalito Burger. The location in Taylor Texas sells a ton of them. Huttos location doesn't belong in Hutto if they can't serve the most liked burger every where else. Same as Taco Tuesday, again all the other Dairy Queen's have that too. Changed my rating to reflect the fact that none of the employees were wearing masks properly. Masks being worn below the nose by every employee I saw handling my food. 3-4 had their masks completely below their mouths. We are in the middle of a public health crisis. People are dying.
