So, ranking this out of all the other fried chicken fast food places I've been to...this place ranks #3...Pioneer Chicken in California still is the best fast food chicken, period, and Jollibee is just a smidge better than Golden. But, compared to KFC, Bush's, Church's, Popeye's, Jollibee, etc, this is a solid contender for top 3. The spicy chicken sandwich was very good and the wings were A+. The sauce that came with the fries and wings was excellent. Sweet and spicy. The let down was the fried shrimp. I ordered 12. I really want to like this restaurant but again chicken wasn't that good. Have tried battered and boasted. Ordered a mix of light and dark broasted 8 piece. Of the 8 the wings were 3, 2 legs and other pieces were 3 pieces part breast and part thigh. Butchering was odd. Cole slaw and rolls completed the order. These were the better part of the order. The white meat chicken was just ok until the second bite when it was so dry that you didn't want any more. The wait was a bit long, we waited 9 minutes to order and then 10 minutes for the food to be delivered to our car. I wish their drive thru was more efficient, Especially during high volume times. We waited in the straight behind 4 other cars. The fried skin was good; it was the right amount of crispness. The meat was tender, juicy, and wasn't too dry. I had a breast and a thigh because they ran out of legs. The nuggets are exactly what I thought they would be. Sweet little creamed corn pockets. YUM. My partner really liked the chicken sandwich, which was topped with pickles and sauce. The sauce is good, seems to be a mix of Tabasco and mayonnaise. I'm pretty sure this is a brioche bun. I came in tonight and was annoyed that my online order didn't go through. I was a bit rude, however it wasn't the employees fault. They were extremely busy, but made my order quickly and were extremely friendly. Also, I have always loved the food here. Chicken tenders, fried chicken, and roasted chicken are all great. Fries, green beans, mashed potatoes with gravy, and corn nuggets are terrific sides. Dirty rice and wicked wings are good, but a bit spicy for me. Love their catfish and rolls. The people that have taken over Golden Chick are awful!! The food is terrible. I went there for some roasted chicken when I got home. I found the chicken to be burnt and DRY! I've been coming to this location since the gas leak on Williams Drive shut down the location there. The staff here are always so friendly and even with the increase of customers from the other location's closure I've never had an excessive wait. As much as I love their tenders and gravy, though, I've found the latest go-to food there for my family is the catfish! It is savory and delicious. Most times I've ordered it they've made it fresh. But even so, the wait is never more than just a few minutes. And, I've noticed that if there is a small piece of fish in the box there is an extra filet to make up for the difference -- I've never been shorted. Good food, people and pricing! read more

We have just had an unpleasant and eye opening experience with Golden Chick. We ordered four dinners and assorted condiments. Many condiments and one dinner were missing from our delivery. We immediately contacted Golden Chick asking for a refund or credit. Randy absolutely refused to do either, something to the effect" they don't do that". I then asked to speak to the manager, there was no manager or acting manager on site. I gave Randy two telephone numbers to have the missing manager call us. After a reasonable wait, I called back. Randy told me the manager just said to tell me that is the way it is. We had only been to this establishment once before and certainly will not go back. Ah, yet another divine drive thru experience. The 4 piece tendies were cooked perfectly and were still at the right temperature when I arrived home. My 7 feline friends would not leave my side while I was enjoying my delectable meal, as the aroma of crispy chickens tingled their senses. Due to having a difficult week I confess that I allowed myself to be treated to golden chick. I am now overcome with joy and experiencing a new level of mental stability even after the recent attempted assault towards myself from a man in a wheel chair. My husband just got home with two orders of wings, each with a roll. They were supposed to be plain wings, but instead they were the "Wicked Wings". They were not only loaded with hot spices, but they were also overloaded with salt. Basically, they were almost inedible. I've eaten here a few times, and while I maintain that most fast-food chicken joints are pretty much indistinguishable, this chicken is actually not bad. I got a breast and a thigh, and they were both juicy, not (too) greasy, and flavorful. For sides, I had a so-so cole slaw (sorry, GC--KFC's got your slaw beat); and hot, gooey, and utterly flavorless mac & cheese. I must give kudos to the counter person. Avoid this location if you can. Sat in line for 15 minutes before I even ordered. I asked for two 3 piece meals with all thighs, got home with one thigh/one leg/one wing for both combos. Also wanted to add an extra thigh that I didn't even receive but did pay for. Love this place. Hubby and I go about once a week. I love how the chicken is so crispy and juicy and not too greasy. Well, it IS fried chicken so it is a little greasy. I like to get mine spicy. Went to visit Golden Chick again. This visit was better than the last. The staff was very courteous. The manager held the front door for a senior that was disabled. The food was good on this visit. The fries were hot and delicious. The chicken tenders were between luke warm and hot. The taste was still very good. The bread this time was so so. I will continue to eat at this location.
