I went to Schlotzsky's for lunch today. I got a turkey and avocado sandwich. My husband got pastrami. I also bought some Schlotzky chips, which are also so good. I bought a bottle of water. My husband enjoys their iced tea. This restaurant is consistently amazing. It's always clean and the people are always so friendly. They have sandwiches and they have pizza. They have a nice mint bowl on the way out which my husband always takes some of those. You can sit in and dine or you can go through the drive-through and they also have an outdoor patio so you can bring the dog. One of the significant things that I love about this restaurant is they make their own bread. Their bread is a sourdough and it is clearly the best sourdough I've ever had! There are other options of bread, but I highly recommend the sourdough. I am a regular at this restaurant! read more

And this place scores big on those counts. Its huge in flavor food-wise, too. This Schlotzsky's could be a model for franchise owners. It is clean, spacious, has an excellent balance of seating/takeout/drive-thru space, a tidy and thorough drink and condiment area. The employees always seem very polite and I've seldom had any delays on orders (and never without an apology and explanation). Y'all, they have this great deal on their 10" pizzas only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. At the time of this writing, their basic pizzas are $5 and their deluxe pizzas are $7. I ordered a pepperoni pizza by phone. It took a couple minutes because all registers were busy, but it was fast enough. I was only 2 minutes away when I ordered. They assured me the pizza would be ready in 5-10 minutes. I was floored, expecting 30 minutes or more. After arriving I went inside. I found a modern and contemporary atmosphere at this store. I was warmly greeted by the counter staff. Payment was fast and no tips were suggested or collected. Within about 3 minutes of my arrival, the pizza I ordered was ready to go. It was obviously a lot cooler by the time I got home 10 minutes later, but my fiancee and I devoured most of it immediately nonetheless. (That's why there is no photo, I was famished--and she didn't pass up a dessert pizza slice). No, it was not the best pizza I'd ever had, but it was far better than most. Major improvement in end product vs a year ago!! Sandwiches were delicious!! Fiesta chicken and an Original were our choices. Both meat content and toppings were appetizing and sufficient. Loaded potato soup was good but not great - extremely dense like eating lumpy mashed potatoes. Crackers were very stale. Lemonade and chip were part of a combo. The two staff members who were taking orders and serving people were the most friendly and helpful we've ever encountered at a Schlotzsky's! They are both of an older generation, and seem to be working hard with so many smiles. The food was perfectly prepared and made the whole family happy. And the dining area was very clean. The person who took my order was rude and didn't bother to pay attention. I ordered a number 1 for my husband and I was trying to order a number 3 for myself but the person taking my order didn't bother to actually listen to anything I was saying. They cut me off every chance. I asked a question, they didnt respond to it. I asked again and finally a 3rd time. Then they shut up long enough to answer. If I could give one star would. I filled out the survey they sent. And expressed my opinion about their costs. A legitimate concern. I got back this horrible response. Whether or not I was wrong or right, this is bad business behavior and it should be shared. I don't appreciate the response and I think she's a moron for sending it to me. I struck a nerve apparently. And everyone is sick and tired of her excuses which come from every business owner. Americans aren't stupid. We know what capitalism is and how it works. This was the franchise owner's response to a SURVEY: Schlotzsky's Survey Response So I filled out a survey. And this was my reply: Dear Storm, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and concerns with us. We sincerely apologize that your recent experience with Schlotzsky's did not meet your or our expectations and that you feel like we are too expensive, unfortunately the supply chains, restaurants, businesses are still experiencing a lot of affects of COVID and everything has gone up, water, electricity, paper cost, labor, food, and unfortunately that means we have to go up things as well. I put those coupons out to celebrate our 27 years in business in Georgetown as a THANK YOU to our community. But I'm curious how you know about my employee's pay, I am actually one of the higher paying Schlotzsky's around here because most of my employees have been with me for years and some for 20 plus years, they also get other benefits that help supplement their hourly pay here. So the fact you put that in your survey makes me think that you talk to someone who either has started out as a high school employee (who is making way beyond minimum wage, I assure you) or you are assuming. Also, the phase "You don't need to make that much money." you really do NOT know me, because if you did, you would know that I give back to our community more than any other restaurant in our area. For example, in one month I gave back close to $60k back to our community in meal donations and fundraisers. If for some reason, we can not make payroll because we are slower or it is a slower period of time. like most business owners, I choose to pay my employees and I will not take a paycheck. I will live off of my savings, I will support my family of three as the only income of our household, which means I DO NOT MAKE THAT MUCH MONEY, I know how to save and be prepared. Ok Schlotzsky's. We stopped in on our way out of Austin. I ordered the turkey guac sandwich with gluten free bread. It came with about a tbsp of guac. I think for a $6 sandwich they can afford to put a little more guac on my sandwich. I do wish they had cut the sandwich in half. That would have made it easier to eat. The bathrooms here are gross. You wouldn't complain about a speciality item not being up to par at McDonald's would you? It's a chain restaurant, don't order niche seasonal things unless you're ready to try something new. The routine things , you know like 90% of the menu, they do all that stuff well which is more than other nearby towns Schlotzsky's can say. Very disappointed. I've been coming here for years and have had small issues here and there, but today was too much. My husband and I went through the drive thru and I ordered a gluten free sandwich and I waited about 10 minutes in the drive through to pick up our order. After pulling around into the shade to eat I pulled out my sandwich and it wasn't gluten free. It was a little frustrating, but I understand mistakes happen. Having a gluten allergy and paying for the gluten free bread, I pulled into the curbside parking spot and called, hoping that I could have my correct sandwich brought out to me. I quickly explained my situation on the phone and the lady on the phone quickly said "ok, bring your receipt inside and then hung up." I was kinda hoping that I wouldn't have to mask up and go Inside a closed lobby in the middle of a pandemic. But I did. When I showed them the receipt, the cashier complained about how much of an inconvenience it is to make gluten free, but went to start it anytime ways. I really want to like this place but they get my order wrong 3 out of 4 times that I go here so I don't go very often. I really wanted to have a chicken bacon smoke cheesy today and it's been months since I had been. I was reminded why. Last time I went I asked for no onion and they took off all of the veg and I got a plane chicken sandwich. They did it again to me today and when I asked for extra pickle on the side they loaded my sandwich with pickle slices and it was soggy with pickle juice by the time I got home. Its a lot of money for a sandwich that is always wrong and not very appetizing being soaked and mushy in pickle juice. I won't be going back to this location again :( read more
