    Wonton Soup

Meh. I stopped in for lunch yesterday with my daughter while shopping in the area. My daughter has gotten takeout from them a few times on her way home from work and warned me that it wasn't authentic Chinese. I was fine with that. Unfortunately, the food wasn't so-much Americanized as just bad. The lunch special goes through out the weekend and until 3 p.m. - so that's a plus. My daughter ordered the Sweet & Sour Chicken and I ordered the Hot & Spicy Chicken. Both of us ordered the Wonton Soup, instead of an egg roll. It comes with fried rice. The soup broth was bland and the meat inside the wonton was a weird brown color. Not sure what was in it. My daughter's Sweet & Sour Chicken was the standard found at these types of places. My Hot & Spicy Chicken was just sweet & sour sauce with a squirt of sriracha in it. It was super, super sweet and tasted awful. I didn't finish it. The service was really quick and friendly. And the lunch specials are cheap.

If you like heavy batter and no veges order the sweet n sour chicken.

Price was reasonable for lunch. I may have told them how I felt about the food had they asked.

If you're looking for traditional yummy Chinese food and tired of chain restaurants, you'll want to give Golden Chen a try. I miss the mom and pop Chinese restaurants I grew up with in Southern California. They do offer dine in option which I did tonight. The decor is sparse but clean. The menu has everything you could want from shrimp, pork, steak and chicken Entrees. I'm just beginning to taste their menu but the Jumbo shrimp and garlic combo platter was delicious and affordable. The service was good. Servers are attentive and smiling (under their masks). I was overall super impressed with the quality of the food for the price. I would highly recommend this establishment for dine in or take out. As we were eating in, I noticed how quickly they turned around the online orders. I will be ordering for sure going forward.

This is the best Chinese restaurant in the greater Cincinnati area. The food and service is wonderful. You must try it and you will return.

Oh. My. Gosh. SO so good…read more We started with the lavender lemonade mocktail -- which I absolutely added tequila to -- and it was smooth, refreshing, and dangerously delicious. 10/10 would order again exactly the same way. For appetizers, we got the whipped feta. Delicious, creamy, and perfect for sharing -- but fair warning: avoid the peppers if you're not into a little kick. They sneak up on you! My friend and I split the house salad and WOW. A complete showstopper. So fresh, the vinaigrette was bright and delightful, and those fresh bacon bits? Chef's kiss. It's rare that a house salad stands out like that, but this one absolutely did. Now let's talk about the prime rib. I typically do not like steak or prime rib... but our waitress recommended it as the best thing on the menu, and honestly the Yelp photos had already convinced me. When I tell you it was BOMB -- I mean it. So tender. So flavorful. Perfectly cooked. Paired with broccolini and mashed potatoes, it was a whole experience. To end the night, we shared the apple tart with cinnamon ice cream -- warm, sweet, comforting, and the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Overall, this was a fantastic dining experience from start to finish. Great service, incredible food, and such a vibe. I cannot wait to come back.

I got the lavender lemonade mocktail which was delicious and refreshing without being too floral or soapy. For dinner I got the braised short rib which was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The bone marrow demi glaze I could have a bowl of that stuff is phenomenal. The broccolini was roasted perfectly but I felt the potatoes could've used more seasoning. My mother got the lemon chicken pasta, which was good at the time, but when she got home it did not sit well with her. All in all, I would come back for the short rib, and I hope Alara finds a new location soon. The inside is nice and romantic seating, but it is cold ... like bring a jacket and it seems it doesn't matter the season it is colder inside because I saw a google review that also mentioned the temperature of the dining room.

We came from Marion Indiana and this place was chosen for a celebration dinner when my son graduated. I wish they would have chosen McDonalds! We found out the best waiters were US, My wife got a baked potato that must have been baked in a easy bake oven kids toy that uses a light bulb because half of it was raw and it certainly was NOT a hot potato. She asked for broccoli instead since we did not want to wait for another hour for another potato. The broccoli was not eatable as it some unknown seasoning on it that we both spat out. My fish was overcooked as were the fries but again we did not want to wait for another hour for something else. I also ordered sweet tea and got two glasses of unsweetened tea, I usually get about four glasses of tea when I eat out due to problems swollowing. I was asked if I was paying on the app and should have said no use downloading it as we will never be back. Again, McDonalds would have had better food and much better service and oh, I do not like McDonalds!

It was good, the menu is somewhat lackluster but what they did have (and of what I ate) was good…read more I don't like that the buffet doesn't include the price of drinks. That seems like a gimmick to make this buffet appear cheaper than others when in reality it is about the same price with less selection. The place wasn't busy on a Saturday at lunch. They had one sushi area, small in size tucked away in the corner but I didn't try that because I feel sushi is the devil's work :) The buffet consisted of 3 rows with each side having their own food item. Some food tags (the little cards taped on the glass above the food that helps us identify what the heck we are looking at) was missing or misplaced. One row consisted of fruit and desserts. The other two was the lunch/dinner food. The honey chicken was very small and hard. The fried rice was phenomenal. The crab rangoon was cream cheese wontons. Maybe it was a case of a misplaced food card I talked about earlier but they were still delicious. The egg rolls was good with an exception of the vegetable one, it was bad. The chicken and broccoli (I assume that's what it was because of the abundance of broccoli but the card was gone so I am unsure), it was just bad because the broccoli was far too hard and way too large. I am one of those weirdos that like raw broccoli but this was huge cuts that, honestly, was borderline offensive. The pot stickers, the pork on a skewer stick, was good. Other chinese restaurants have better but it wasn't bad here. Just overcooked and needed a better sauce. The mushrooms was really good. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. My husband and our daughter liked the salmon but I didn't try it because I hate too fishy fish flavors. The desserts was our 2 kids favorite, of course. I think they probably tried one of everything with an exception of the weird slug looking jello-y banana thing they had. It was very unappealing looking sitting there sad while jiggling around on it's tray hoping someone would be wild enough to try it. So, my brave husband did and he immediately made a face. The little cup desserts was cute, our son liked the chocolate one but the strawberry didn't seem to go over well with either kid. I tried a small taste of one of theirs and noped it right back onto my daughters plate. The pairs was delicious. Overall, not a bad buffet but not the best. Good for when you want a less busy buffet to enjoy the bare bones of what Chinese food has to offer. Still don't like the drink not being included in the price though.
