We've been going here forever. The food and service never disappoints. It's an hour from home but worth the drive

This was both my first and last visit to this restaurant. Service: Our server was pleasant and courteous, but the service was quite slow. To be fair, it did not appear to be her fault. Food: The chips and salsa were acceptable, and the onion straws were decent, but everything went downhill from there. Ambiance: The restaurant has an authentic Mexican appearance, but it did not feel particularly clean. We ordered three fajita dinners--two steak and one chicken. When most people order fajitas, they expect a sizzling cast-iron skillet filled with hot meat, onions, peppers, and vegetables. Instead, what arrived was a disappointing plate of cold steak covered with melted cheddar cheese. The steak was extremely tough, with a texture more like leather than beef, and there was none of the presentation or freshness that defines a proper fajita. This was one of the most poorly executed restaurant meals I have ever been served. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. read more

Superior food and service. Easily THE BEST PLACE in Anderson Township to have a great meal. The rib eyes that my wife and I had were incredibly tender and juicy. The sides were excellent also. Have been wanting to check this place out for a while... wow definitely disappointed. I had high expectations since the parking lot is always pretty full. The service was ok. When I got a refill on my Diet Coke was accidentally given root beer. A server replaced the drink for me. No complaints other than that. Truly the only saving grace was the ok service of this place. The food was so salty starting with the chips. Some chips were so salted they were white. Yikes. The entrees we ordered were extremely salty as well. Went there last night with some family Very disappointed in the food Three of us ordered mashed potatoes and they were barely hot and absolutely no flavor. Two people ordered steaks..no favor and mine had a weird texture. It certainly didn't melt in our mouths. The biggest disappointment was the hot slaw. Last time we where there it was so good. One reason we went back to eat there. The cabbage was not shredded like it should have been. I had to cut mine with a knife and it was drowning in the dressing. But to top if off, they served it with fake bacon. What a waste of $75.00 We won't be going back. Their food was always so good, but they have really gone down hill. I decided to try this place as multiple people recommended it, saying it's the best steak restaurant in Cincinnati. I was very excited to try this place out, but unfortunately things didn't go as planned for my 21st birthday here. 3 of us had the sirloin while 1 in our party got the 10oz filet, and some were ordered medium rare and some medium but unfortunately all 4 steaks came out still grazing the grass from what it looked like. They were all extremely raw, the mashed potatoes were out of a packet from what it seemed, the green beans were clearly from a can and the baked potato was cold, wet and undercooked. My blue cheese wedge salad was very good though, but that was about it. Even the chips they serve you were stale and some soggy. The restaurant itself is very outdated and does not fit the style for how expensive the food is, I'm talking $150+ on our meal that was all poorly cooked. The bathrooms were kind of dirty and outdated as well, although the rest of the restaurant seemed fairly kept up. Needless to say, we got an apology from the owner and walked out of the restaurant without eating out partially cooked meat and took our business elsewhere. Great ending to the big 21! read more

The food was average and over priced. I did not get the meal I ordered. I ordered a steak fajita taco salad and it came out as a plain taco salad with some small pieces of flavorless tough meat. My husband had ordered the same thing I did and also had a very simple pile of lettuce in a tasteless taco shell. I'm not a big meat person unless it's fall apart tender. All these years I was afraid to try a pork chop. I finally did and it was extremely delish. Cooked perfectly. My partner got ribeye and loved it. I did not enjoy the sweet potatoes at all. They are extremely sweet like a dessert. I don't think sweet potatoes need any additional sugar. We went to El coyote on a Friday night. It was busy, but not too busy. We were able to get a table on the patio, which was great and very relaxing. Our server was very nice and brought us chips and salsa to start. The salsa was very spicy. I ordered the sour cream enchiladas and a lime margarita on the rocks. My husband ordered a quesadilla. A friend recommended this place so I made a reservation via phone. However, when I showed up with my family, they couldn't find my reservation and told me it would be a 30 minute wait. I even showed them my phone call log to prove that I'd called earlier, but they were extremely rude about denying that they'd spoken with me. Perfect all the way. Haven't been here in six years and I'm happy to say it's still the same consistent delicious place. El Coyote has been around forever. The reason? Because it's still a great place to eat, drink margaritas and enjoy so many Mexican dishes. We started off with a half pitcher of margaritas and ordered the queso which was excellent. Had the popular double pork chop meal that comes with a salad or side. If you don't want the salad you can have another side dish. Awesome. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. ORDERED TAKE OUT Steak Burrito/Salad/ Coleslaw. Didn't receive the sides. 1/2 Slab of Ribs, Salad and Fries. Didn't receive the salad Crispy Shrimp, Salad, Broccoli Chicken Quesadilla-Appetizer portion Free Cheeseburger when you ordered the ribs. Crispy Onion straws. Ordered Med Rare. Was pretty rare as you can tell by the pictures. There was a lot wrong with the order and as of now, I've messaged the restaurant on Facebook and we'll see if they reply. Just remember, it's Take Out and order accordingly. I wouldn't order the steak burrito again unless I was Dining In. It's a pretty expensive Take Out Tuesday night, but we are supporting local restaurants at this time. Maria loved the ribs and Connor inhaled the Crispy Shrimp.
