When we first used them, they were great! Now John the owner has been passing business off to his son. His son is unprofessional, made comments about my home how he hoped to Jane a house like this and why does my husband do for a living? He also would ramble about his former drug use, car accident which put him on pain pills he got addicted to, and that he and his wife could barely make ends meet and were living out of a hotel. The final straw was when the son tried to poach his Dad's business. He asked my husband how much his Dad quoted us to treat fire ants. Then he said if we went off the record with him, he would treat them for far less. My husband called John to share with him his concerns and the first thing John asked was, "Did his Tourette's come out?" I'm sorry what? So you send your son with Tourette's and hope he keeps it under wraps? Then he tells my husband than you and he would like to sit down with him after Thanksgiving week and chat. Extremely effective! I waited a few weeks before leaving a review to ensure we were seeing a difference and I am so thrilled in the service that was provided. We had rats in our garage and attic and they had begun coming into our walls. It was horrible... we could hear them moving around inside the walls. We were told it would take about 2 weeks to see a difference and we certainly have! No more noises in the walls and we don't see them or hear them in the garage anymore except when we catch them in the traps. Would 100% recommend this company. These guys are great. They have been out to the house twice. Both times they have been on time, have done a great job. Went over everything that they thought might be an issue. They also went over everything that was on the bill and they were not pushy and trying to get me to sign up for extra services or a monthly contract (this to me makes me want to keep doing business with them). Read this fully before you use this dad & son business. New to area and randomly selected this company off internet to treat our house/property. The owner was very nice on the phone but I told him we would try his service before committing to any contract which he said was fine. Son showed up and this is where it started going badly quickly. We have had pest control services before and this was shall we say was unorthodox at a minimum. Son appeared to be chaotically spraying chemicals around the property verse treating the foundation, windows etc. Then came inside and disappeared in our master bedroom for way to long. Went and checked and he was standing just looking at my wife's wardrobe in the walk-in closet. Big Red Flag. He seemed embarrassed and walked out and then sprayed up the wall about two feet in the hallway and then did the same to the wall next to the fireplace. Didn't even touch the baseboards. Never seen this before and couldn't get him out of the house fast enough. FYI - got all the ants back about a week later. When I went to pay him for this one service, he presented on his phone a blank signature line and said just sign it. Well....it was for a yearly contract and he didn't want to tell me but then admitted it. Pretty sleezy move. Of course we didn't sign anything. Told him we no longer needed his services and he left. About three months later the son just showed up at the house and said he was here for the quarterly service. Reminded him that we told him we were not using his service. He left but a week later on Sunday night at 8 pm, the son sends me a message via text saying he was coming over tomorrow morning for my quarterly service. Respond no you are not. Then the dad proceeds to text me, mind you it's still 9 PM on a Sunday night, saying that I had agreed verbally on the phone to a year contract. You get the shady business practice. When anyone blatantly lies, you do not do business with them. I inform dad in no uncertain terms that is untrue and we do not have a contract and do not want further contact with his company. He responds by saying he is going to contact all the other pest control services he knows and tell them about me. Well that about did it. Filed a BBB complaint. Can't imagine how many other people he's tried to bully or lied to but time that it stops. Super Bad service with significant ethical issues. No Thanks. read more

Gold Standard Pest Control is truly as good as it gets!! We have been using Gold Standard since it went into business, and have never regretted leaving a much larger company. John is wonderful! He is very thorough, and extremely friendly! He always asks about our family--including the dogs!! We have the quarterly pest service, the fire ant service, as well as, the mosquito service done. It is very effective. We never have an issue with pests in our home or yard. We can enjoy the yard without worry throughout the year. I cannot recommend Gold Standard more! read more

We had a major wasp problem. Sprays and traps from the hardware store were having no impact. Once they started coming in the house I had enough. I called Gold Standard. Not only did John call me back the same day, he came out and did a treatment that day too! The difference was immediately noticeable. We are able to use our back porch again!
