Wow-wee! We found this gem in Eureka. So glad they had bagels, because there salmon one was on point and I was starvin' Marvin. Their Snickerdoodle white mocha was delicious, wish I would of gotten the 16 oz instead of the 8 oz. It was too small. The drive thru was fast and the lady in the drive thru was friendly and helpful. Wish we had one of these in Modesto, or maybe not because all my money would go there. My Mom had a Chai shake and it was yummy, and my eldest daughter had a apple all fruit smoothie. This isn't a rant. I don't have a bone to pick and I'm not trying to be mean. I just want to issue a warning to any coffee snobs passing through Eureka: this is not the coffee you're looking for. If you appreciate a fine cup of black coffee, you won't find it here. In all likelihood you'll do as we did: take a small sip, toss it in the trash, and reluctantly drive down the road to Starbucks. This place is terrible, employees assault their customers! Don't eat here! They made my bagel wrong, I asked for a pesto cream cheese extra toasted bagel w/ albacore. First I noticed they didn't extra toast my bagel the bagel was chewy. Then they said they'd make me a new one and as they were making the new one I noticed the cream cheese wasn't pesto. So they gave my my second bagel and it was burnt and still had regular cream cheese. So I brought the 2nd bagel to the front of the store to complain, they let me inside then continued to argue with me about what I had ordered, refused to make me a new bagel, gave my money back and physically pushed me out of the building. These employees are immature and disgusting people. This place should be shut down. read more

Update: Gold rush saw this review and now banned me as a customer lol even people who have gotten coffee with me there- are banned. They came out to our car to tell us they won't be serving us. They are seriously crazy! Still can't believe this happened. Here's the review they banned us for: Decent coffee- the best is their ice cream rushes but this review isn't just about their mediocre coffee- it's about the horrible customer service I have received! I went a few days ago to get a rush(which I do usually 3 times a week) and the manager serving me asked me if I called earlier about a guy in a red car who works there. I had no idea what she was talking about. Almost a week later I went again to get a rush and the young guy serving me said, "so the manager said you called and said I made terrible coffees?!" WHAT?! Who says something like this to a paying customer?! then another worker came over to the window after the young guy left and I told her I would like to talk to the rude employee please. She said," I don't think he was rude." I just basically said " wow this is bad customer service!" I'm completely shocked and appalled this company has confronted a paying customer twice! Esomeone DID call and complain about your business or a crappy coffee maker-you absolutely never confront the paying customer! You talk about it amongst yourselves and work it out! Getting defensive and accusing a paying customer of it is totally crazy and absurd. I've been nothing but nice to this place that I have been a paying customer to-for almost 15 years now! I will never return to this coffee shop and give them business. I will also encourage anyone who plans to go there- to reconsider. Yummy! Stopped off here on our way out of town and the coffees were amazing! My husband had the Mexican mocha and it was full of rich Ibarra flavor. My vanilla latte with an extra shot of espresso was hands down the best I've had. My girls both got hot chocolates and they put a little squirt of whipped cream on the tip of the straw! They loved it! We grabbed a few bagels with cream cheese Too and they were awesome. Check this place out! read more

Great little coffee stop on the California Coast. Gold Rush is directly off the 101 and offers anything you might need to meet that coffee fix! On our visit we had the Mexican mocha which was made really well not to sweet and just the right amount of flavor. Overall I would stop here again while traveling the 101 for a good cup of coffee. read more

Stopped in here with my family on a Sunday morning to get coffee for a trip up to Jedediah national Park and we had a great experience. The barista was super friendly and the coffee was delicious. If you are an out of towner and looking for a great cup of coffee, this is the place to go! Wow! So good. The staff was super nice and friendly which always is nice to walk into. I had the Mexican mocha, oatmeal and a few other odds and ends. My mocha was hot and delicious! My oatmeal was just as good. I don't usually review a place unless I experienced it for more than 5 minutes??? Gold Rush Coffee has a drive threw option, which was needed for some coffee on our trip home. We weren't going to get breakfast until they had Albacore Tuna Bagels. I was expecting some small pieces or a paste, but we got huge chunks of fresh albacore on a nice toasted bagel with cream cheese. It was DELICIOUS. Highly exceeded my expectations. There is a fish market next store, which I'm sure supplies them with fresh fish. Great stop! read more

This has got to be one of the more architecturally unique cafe's in California. We always feel we have to stop in and not just use the drive through. It's such a fun little space. The espresso is quite good but the Mexican Hot Chocolate is some of the best we've had! The customer service has always been friendly and the restrooms are clean. Great espresso in a ridiculously cool little drive through shop. I got the black widow, which was 16 oz of drip coffee with two shots of espresso. It was glorious. It wasn't just as much caffeine as they could get in a cup--though there was a bit of that--but was instead a great cup of coffee with some amazing, slightly bitter espresso flavors mixed in. this place has become my regular. They happily special order decaf espresso beans for me to pick up. The best decaf espresso roast beans around. Try them for home brew if you have a grinder and are on caffeine cutback. the staff is friendly & most pull shots well. I am glad I took the time to do the research to understand that the breakdown in consistency comes when the manager is not on duty. I've shown up off my usual schedule a number of times to get poorly made drinks from folks who're moving too fast to hear what I ask for. We love our goldrush ! My daughter and I like to come here . I usually get a latte and an bagel with cream cheese, tomato and larrupin sauce . Yum ! She usually has a bagel and cream cheese and a smoothie ! They are always extremely friendly, And always make conversation at the pickup window . I don't drink coffee in Eureka often my friends, but when I do - I choose Gold Rush. Mainly because they have a great drive thru option in a perfect location on the way out of town, but I also like the options and beans they serve. Gold Rush is very unique and very 'Eurekee'. It has a specific look and typically I have gotten great service there. I have gotten some great mocha here and typically get at least a good cup of their local bean. As an added bonus they have decent foodie snacks. But, I would drive thru and not stop to hang out as they really aren't that type of place. read more

Won't be coming back . First off it took about 15-20 minutes to get our coffee. Secondly they did all the separate orders backward those who ordered last got theirs first all the way to the person who order first got theirs last. I went here with my family and we won't be coming back. Mostly because how rude one of the male staff members were. As we were sitting there for our coffees my dad was looking around the store and the Male staff member looks at him and said could you stop staring , your making us all stressed while we Make the coffees. Then the same staff member would put a coffee on the counter and wouldn't let us know which one he just set up there. I honestly couldn't believe how rude the male staff member was to my dad/ my family any time we look at the counter to see if any of our coffees were ready, he would get annoyed and give us a annoyed look but took it to the next step when he said that to our dad when he look over to see if the coffees where ready after sitting for 15 waiting. Just to have the dude be completely rude to him. Just to taste 2 of our coffees being completely burn. My suggestion is just skip this place and go down the road to Dutch bros.
