My mind was blown at the perfect balance of Hojicha with oat milk, a lot of times when I get matcha or Hojicha lattes I find shops don't get the ratio right but Witness created a delicious harmony of flavors. My husband got the drip coffee and he said it was the best he'd had on the west coast, I can confirm the coffee had incredible berry-forward, rich flavors. The vibes inside Witness Coffee Roasters is so chill, too. You can request a vinyl album to be played. Our barista was incredibly knowledgeable about coffee drinks, we enjoyed chatting with him. Also, their vegetarian-forward menu looks great. While their inside is super cozy, they do have a few outdoor tables in the front for folks with dogs. I wish we had a Witness Coffee Roasters where we live. I can't recommend this local shop more, they get a 12/10, they are a total gem in Eureka.

Coffee and food are brought to you (unless it's busy, then food is brought to you and your drink is announced at the bar to collect); every food item is great flavor, texture, fresh ingredients, and no-nonsense sauces (only quality sauces can be found here!) The vibe is still very welcoming, they've added sidewalk tables, and another window bar to sit and enjoy the plants and sunshine that beams in from the courtyard - for that matter, you can sit IN the courtyard!

They had a dedicated area for sitting, and some things like board games available for groups to enjoy while sipping their beverage of choice. I got a mocha frappé and enjoyed it. It hit the spot on a sunny Eureka day. To my surprise, I got a freebie, with the barista making more than what would fit in the cup. The excess was poured into an additional cup, and given for free. Not once did he talk about the exploitation cocoa farms have for children in the country of origin, inclu ding child slavery or slavery amongst adults, nor the companies commitment to working with farmers who practice ethical trade. That lack of emphasis of the dialogue regarding human rights leads me to believe that acknowledging humans rights isn't something this company has even with their own workers. A bunch of people come in for a tour and the cafe workers who are pretty new to the front area have to be in charge of seeing about 15- 30 different orders with in 5 minutes and the front stage who makes below minimum of the cost of living has to be left felling supported? I wonder if all the staff working for you have even been on a sailboat or own one? It's on your logo after all. Or is it a simple nod to the slave trade being the reasons you are a millionaire? I think it would be amazing if this company could make products that do not include slavery or mistreatment of workers.

My recent experience at this coffee shop was nothing short of awful. It's incredibly frustrating when a barista displays an attitude after making my order incorrectly--especially considering the high prices. When I asked to speak with the manager or owner, I was told they were unavailable, which seems to be a common occurrence. Initially, I wasn't planning to write a review, but I believe it's important for the community to know which small businesses they are supporting. Since the new ownership took over, the level of customer service has declined drastically. This is particularly disappointing coming from someone who has been a loyal customer for years. read more

I recently visited this coffee shop, and it was a huge disappointment. First off, the service was painfully slow. I waited over 20 minutes just to get my coffee, and the staff seemed disorganized and uninterested in helping customers. The coffee itself was underwhelming--lukewarm, bland, and honestly tasted like it had been sitting around for hours. The place was also noisy and cramped, with a strange smell that made it hard to relax. Definitely not the cozy vibe I was hoping for. I won't be coming back anytime soon. read more
