We got a caramel cold snap (way too sweet), espresso bean rush (yum-a little sweet) and kids hot cocoa. The service was friendly and quick and they even gave my daughter some fruit snacks and sticker. If you like strong espresso flavor this is not your place. read more

We were passing through Eureka and stopped here for coffee and a quick breakfast on our way down 101. We pulled around to the window and were greeted by amazing service. The woman who was working the window noticed our toddler in the back seat and offered her a sticker and fruit snacks - bonus for us on our long drive. She was friendly and chatted while we waited for our bagels, giving us a heads up of a local event that might cause traffic. We drove away with a happy kid, two good cups of coffee and smiles on our faces. read more

Won't be coming back . First off it took about 15-20 minutes to get our coffee. Secondly they did all the separate orders backward those who ordered last got theirs first all the way to the person who order first got theirs last. I went here with my family and we won't be coming back. Mostly because how rude one of the male staff members were. As we were sitting there for our coffees my dad was looking around the store and the Male staff member looks at him and said could you stop staring , your making us all stressed while we Make the coffees. Then the same staff member would put a coffee on the counter and wouldn't let us know which one he just set up there. I honestly couldn't believe how rude the male staff member was to my dad/ my family any time we look at the counter to see if any of our coffees were ready, he would get annoyed and give us a annoyed look but took it to the next step when he said that to our dad when he look over to see if the coffees where ready after sitting for 15 waiting. Just to have the dude be completely rude to him. Just to taste 2 of our coffees being completely burn. My suggestion is just skip this place and go down the road to Dutch bros. Today, I drove up for my first coffee here: 4-shot latte. It was about $4.90, and it was worth it. Service was excellent and latte was potent and perfect. I would rate it better than Dutch Bros. I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, a-latte better than Starbucks. read more

Good coffee, great but small space. You can order through their drive-through but it's definitely worth stopping to check out the interior of the cafe. It's very modern and has won some acclaim for its design. Not that this is entirely relevant to the coffee, but it adds to the experience. We were driving down Broadway one morning last week when we spotted what looked like a giant aluminum alien ship had landed on the side of this busy street. Cool! To our surprise, we discovered this unique building was the Gold Rush Coffee drive-thru! After a short wait in a line of autos, we nabbed some truly excellent coffee as well as bagels lathered with cream cheese. Warning, we thought there was too much cream cheese on our bagels - but that is obviously a matter of personal preference. We were impressed - this was a pretty good place to stop for a morning coffee and snack. The almond milk chai was a little sweeter than I like, and the two people behind the counter were extremely sweet (but I like that!). My friend had an Americano and said it was tasty. (Nothing amazing, just a good tasting coffee.) Fun, unusual architecture (round!), friendly service, and I liked the music playing in this tiny, tiny coffee shop. I love going here because everyone's not all blah like everywhere else. The front is cylindrical which seems to have a positive effect on how quickly the customers get their drinks. Here the baristas move with purpose. Espresso professionals. Once in a while they might show that they're human, but it's usually a cyclone of blenders and bagels and you're ready to tackle the day. read more

My favorite place to get coffee in Eureka! Their drinks are on the sweet side, but yummy regardless. They also offer bagels, cookies, and sometimes you can catch a sprinkle donut or a croissant. Service is always worth tipping, very nice people who are well dressed. Unfortunately its the last one in town. I was used to going to the one in the mall, where most of the older employees knew my order before i got to the counter. I have sworn by Gold Rush since I tried it a couple of years back - the service is always speedy (even if they are slammed), the employees are some of the nicest baristas I've met, and the coffee selection and quality remains unrivaled from what I've found elsewhere around Humboldt. On top of never being met with dissatisfaction with whatever I order there (their specialty drinks encourage you get a little adventurous), the implementation of their stamp cards (10 stamps will get you a free drink) makes it even more tempting to return again and again! All of that being said however, their prices have risen recently to borderline ridiculously high amounts. In the past I could justify paying for a $5.00 quality coffee, but now I'm shelling out almost $7.00 for the same coffee and it's getting hard to forgive myself. I understand this is the result of strain from competing cafes, but it's driving me away as a customer. Despite the inflated prices, this place does not disappoint! A complete gem! read more

Not a big coffee drinker, but we were sleeping overnight in Eureka and hit this place up while we were getting gas next door. They made a really foamy soy latte for me(I love foam) and then they totally gave me another one free when I spilled mine all over the truck floor. Great service in the morning.
