I found this place in Garden Grove. Very kind staff, and very thorough. The optometrist that saw me was very professional, I'm sorry I forgot her name, she was very detailed oriented, and helped me with any concerns I had. Thank you for offering such great service. read more

My daughter has poor eyesight, so out of anxiety, I've been taking her for eye exams every six months. I trusted Dr. Lee so much for his honesty and thoroughness that I stayed with this clinic for years, even though I knew their prices were higher than other places. However, I recently realized how much I was overcharged by the store manager. My daughter's vision insurance allows us to apply the frame allowance toward contact lenses if we don't buy frames, making the lenses much cheaper. Yet, the store manager told me contacts were not covered at all and charged me full price out-of-pocket. Furthermore, our insurance actually covers high-index (compressed) lenses, but the manager lied, claiming high-index lenses weren't covered, and made me pay for them in cash. I admit it was my mistake for not fully checking our insurance policy beforehand. But as a long-term, loyal patient, I expected honesty at the very least. Today, I went to the UCI Health Optometry Clinic, used our insurance properly, and saved a lot of money. While I still deeply respect Dr. Lee, the way the store manager runs the business is completely unacceptable. I am beyond disappointed. read more

Good care, people were very nice. Was able to get my annual check up done in 25 min. Clean and nice place to be!!

The staff were unfriendly, and in my 40 years of wearing glasses, this is the first time I've been pressured into a prescription I didn't want. I was so upset that I went home and cried. In the end, I had to replace the lenses somewhere else. My eyes are precious to me--please do not get your glasses made here. Don't be fooled by the 4-star rating. read more

The Optometrist is very knowledgeable and kind. My elderly parents love and feel comfortable checking their eyes and getting their glasses here. The workers are very helpful and kind. Although my family lives in Irvine, we always drive all the way here. read more

I've been getting my glasses here for almost 10+ years. Can testify that the glasses here are VERY good quality ( I literally sleep on top of my glasses under my pillow and they hold up super well lol ). Very good customer service, they always clean my glasses for free and tighten them when they get loose complimentary haha. Very much recommended they hold many trendy frames as well from Korea :)). Have been wearing glasses from here from my tiny rectangle glasses to my big circle glasses phase lmao. read more

Gold Optometry - The glasses I wanted! - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Garden Grove, California

I can't believe I have been coming to Gold Optometry for over a decade. Although I have moved out of the area, I still choose to come here for my eye exams. Dr. Kim is so pleasant and very knowledgeable. The front office staff are always helpful and courteous. The office is located in the same plaza as H Mart and Paris Baguette. They carry a wide selection of brand-name eyewear, so you will find the right frames to fit your budget. The staff is great at helping you select the right pair of glasses to suit your face and style. The sunglass collection is also extensive. They accept VSP insurance, but they offer fair pricing if you are a cash patient. My insurance plan has a generous allowance for frames, so I usually have to pay a small amount for out of pocket costs. Your eye health is a top priority, so you should choose an office that truly cares for their patients. I have referred several family members here, and they are all happy with the outcome. Highly recommend! read more

Really great experience! Always warmly welcome you. I got my lense in a week and it was good. The eye exam also taken throughly and carefully. read more

Great staff team!! And consultation fee is quite standard. Dr. Lee is very attentive, considerate, and professional. Definitely recommend!

I was visiting from out of town and had some eye pain. This office was able to see me the same day for a corneal ulcer even though they were not my usual optometrist. Jay helped me look at how I would be billed by insurance and the doctor was so kind. If I lived closer I would definitely be a regular patient! read more

Everyone is so professional, helpful, and friendly! I especially appreciate how thorough the doctor is with eye exams. Would recommend coming here for glasses or contacts! read more

First time patient here, I recently got a new insurance and seen this location was in network so I made an appointment over the phone, I didn't have my physical insurance card but they were able to pull up my information with some info I provided. The Dr was extremely thorough and explained everything to detail that was going on with my eyes. She was kind, sweet, helpful and immediately knew I needed bifocals which is something I've never been told I needed but made sense with the testing results. The staff was very hospitable and knowledgeable which made it easier for me. I didn't feel rushed picking glasses out nor seemed pressured to purchase expensive glasses as other places can be. They have a HUGE selection of glasses, it was so hard to pick! But I eventually chose the one that best suited me. My insurance paid for half and I will pay the remaining balance when I pick them up in a week or so. Highly recommend this place! read more

This place is amazing! Very professional service and they walked me through the entire step process. The doctor was very patient while I picked out the different lenses where I was able to see better. read more

Like most customers, price and service are probably one of the biggest factors in attracting and retaining customers. I've been coming to Gold Optometry since I was in middle school because they have providers who speak Korean. My mom always came with me to my appointments and she was only able to understand Korean. A decade later, mostly due to costs and lack of insurance, I went to generic places like Costco since price became my most important factor. But today's visit reminded me why I will choose small businesses like Gold Optometry moving forward and even with my children. - They have an in-house optometrist that you can see via booking an appointment in advance - They are up to date with companies, making sure you receive your rebates. (Mine was $100!) - They take a wide variety of insurance - The service providers always take their time to explain. They are never in a rush or push you to buy something. - They have a good enough variety of glasses and are always open to taking suggestions. - With purchase, they provide complementary samples for contact lenses or solution. read more

Today was my first time here. It was overall a great and fast experience with Dr. Lee and the front staff. I got an eye exam, ordered my prescription glasses, and ordered lenses for my prescription sunglasses. I had eye insurance through my employer via EyeMed and got 20% off. They have all the popular brands. I chose Ray Bans for my glasses. I highly recommend you go here for your next eye exam and glasses. I'll definitely be back. read more

Because they told a lie, my family members do not go there. The lenses pressed 4 times was the same as those pressed 3 times at the other optometry. I complained about it but they insisted it was pressed 4 times. read more

My friend referred me here and it was a great experience. At first, I felt a little awkward going in because they have a lot of high end glasses and I didn't want to spend too much, but the doctor and the person that helped me were so nice and welcoming. The doctor gave me a lot of education about my eyes, which was super insightful and interesting. And the person helping me with glasses picked ones within my range. I really never picked glasses so quickly. I'm so glad I found this place! It's also next to Paris Baguette, which is another win lol. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Kim for the past 10+ years, and I will continue to do so! Dr. Kim is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and amazing at what she does. I've visited the LA location before (also amazing), but I started coming to the Garden Grove location as it is a bit closer to my house. Everyone follows COVID rules - all staff were wearing masks and seats were six feet apart as well. Everything felt very clean and sanitary. Mr. Jay was the one that helped me and my brother pick out our new frames. He made sure each frame was sanitized before and after we tried them all on. He also recommended different frames for our different face shapes, so that was super helpful. The staff is always friendly and greets me as soon as I come in. Definitely check this place out for any future glasses/contacts/examination needs! read more
