In…read moreaddition, they have online shopping to coordinate with pickup at my local store in the event what you want isn't in stock or carried locally. I had an issue that started with an online order so I called the toll-free number and spoke with a rep who was surprisingly delightful and caring! After her research into the matter, she transferred the call to a supervisor who was better equipped to provide assistance with my issue. The supervisor was equally delightful (!) and after deciding it was best dealt with at my local store level, she called a manager at Silverdale. He suggested that I come into the store and talk with any manager on duty, and so I did the next day. Although at first Manager, Summer, seemed skeptical, she took the time to thoroughly research in the problem (looking at my account, calling the manager who had been on duty, checking stock...), and then provided several flexible and positive solutions. The reason I think she was great is because after she inherited my problem, she completely "owned" the issue intent on finding appropriate, workable solutions. She was a joy to work with and I felt she was not only professional, but clearly she enjoys her job, feels respected and appreciated, and highly values the customer. (Note: When her earpiece had fallen out and she thought employees were ignoring her call to help a waiting customer, she laughed at herself recognizing it was her mistake- never once trying to shift the blame. Sure this isn't a big deal, but it represented a characteristic one would want in a supervisor!) I was an occasional Dick's customer previously because of convenience and price, but I am definitely now a LOYAL Dick's customer because of excellent customer service, and while surely Summer epitomizes excellent customer service, I had great, caring service from every employee involved!

I brought the gold membership. It is a bit costly but I would say it worth the price if you come regularly. It's also a great option for me as it includes the rental fees and I'd like to try different guns each time. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. One small thing to mention: They do provide shotguns for rental but the only standard option is KS7, which is cool if it's not jamming. I went to rent it twice and it both jammed. Staffs are nice as they switched Benelli M4 to me which was intended to be a "premium" rental. Would be nicer if they also provide 590/870/any other pump-action shotguns as standard options in the future. Apart from that, there's nothing I can complain. There was a time I went to the range with a friend who's shooting for the first time. Chris was very helpful and provides my friend with a quick but through intro and some other helps. For the shop: Great service. There's a young staff who is really friendly and helpful. No one would push you to make decisions here (which I like it) but you can always find helps if needed.

If Bass Pro Shops represents the worst possible gun store experience, MKR Tactical is the best. At…read moreBass Pro, you are literally just a number, there purely to be exploited in every imaginable way. I've had better customer service (and less waiting) at any given DMV. At MKR, however, it's like talking to a friend--or at least to people that treat you (even when you're ignorant and don't know everything about guns) with respect. If they carried the firearm I wanted, I would've bought it from them, not the bassholes at Bass Pro. But I wanted a budget firearm, and MKR carries only the best. When I went in yesterday, I needed help figuring out how to use a magazine loader. I literally just walked through their door with a box of my stuff, asking for help. Matthew not only demonstrated how to use the device using dummy rounds, he gave me invaluable advice about safety, gun cleaning tips, classes. Since I was not making a purchase that day, I wanted to tip him. Peoples' time, care and good advice are valuable and deserve recognition, particularly when folks go above and beyond. My tip was politely declined. Unlike Bass, where customers are nothing more than walking money bags, MKR treats people...well, like people. I believe that ignorance is not a crime, especially when you admit to it and actively seek to increase your knowledge base. That can't always be done on your own. Youtube videos and books, while helpful, cannot give you all that you need to know about guns. Yet, in some gun stores, the so-called gun experts can be extremely condescending towards anyone who doesn't know as much as they do. ...Or anyone they THINK doesn't know as much as they do. That's why I so appreciate the attitude of Matthew and everyone else at MKR Tactical. They aren't there to lord their knowledge over you, but to share it with you. It's the first place I felt safe enough to ask questions because I realized pretty quickly that they wouldn't humiliate me or treat me like an annoyance. That means EVERYTHING. Honestly, it's not that hard to treat people with basic respect, but it is hard to find places that do. Increasingly, I'm finding that you really need to go to a smaller mom n' pop, locally and independently owned business like MKR Tactical, if you want to be treated like a human being, and avoid corporate monstrosities like Big Five, Cabellas, Dick's or Bass Pro--all of whom seem to have their tentacles wrapped around every urban area. The great news is that there are still good alternatives. I'm grateful for MKR Tactical and I hope they thrive for many more years to come.

Took two trips in so far with a third incoming when the ATF is done. First trip did some finger printing and questions on the silencer shop kiosk in the store talked to guys at the counter and they informed me about additional stuff to do on ATF website. So went and did that and returned. Pretty average but helpful visit for being new to suppressors. 2nd trip in i spoke with a dude behind the counter explained I wanted a suppressor, but my knowledge is lacking. Told him what firearms I'm using and that I got the paperwork that was mentioned in first visit completed. So he showed me a couple options and grabbed 2 other guys and the lady at the desk processing the paperwork for their input for a first time purchaser and showed me a couple more options and ultimately ended up the the dead air sandman X. While I haven't received it yet (waiting on the ATF to process the paperwork), the staffs thoroughness, willing to answer my dumb questions for 35-40 minutes was a huge help and I felt i had to share my experience. They didn't disappoint and I have a feeling this will be my go to shop in the future. So Thank you for the help and I am looking forward to the ease on my ears when I'm out at target practice.

The atmosphere is very cold and stand off-ish, I was ignored for the first 5 minutes, standing at the counter finally being asked if "minded waiting, while he showed a lady a pistol?" Mind you she walked in after me, but I guess I didn't have the right "incentives" for attention. After almost 15 minutes of hanging out I was finally approached and asked what I had in the cases. They offered pennies on the dollar for a handful of safe queens, when I asked why their offer was so low the guy shrugged and said "you can only sell these to gun stores now so there's no private market any more, take it or leave it" I left it, I can't justify selling a rifle/scope that I paid $5K for with only 20 rounds down range for $300 because that's just how it is now. The whole experience was so negative that I didn't bother shopping around, I'd rather take my business ANYWHERE else.

But mid conversation they had to take care of something, so another employee tagged in. This second person was rude, short, and had zero interest in explaining the firearm - even saying things that contradicted the first employee. I know it's nearly impossible to avoid "gun bros" at a firearm store. But buying weapons is important and serious; so having inconsistency with how employees handle customers shows a lack of respect for all parties. A previous time I was there, an employee had strict rules about handling and pointing the firearm. Explicitly holding onto the barrel while I held the grip, and aimed it AT THEMSELVES! I get it, we both verified the gun was safe and empty, but that broke like 3 of the firearm safety rules. I even asked if I could aim it somewhere else (some stores specifically have a wall target they know is safe). But nope, they wanted to hold onto the barrel and I could only hold it in front of them. Suffice to say, I did not hold onto the pistol for long and set it down.
