Dicks has good quality merchandise and good prices- about the best I can find anywhere. In addition, they have online shopping to coordinate with pickup at my local store in the event what you want isn't in stock or carried locally. I had an issue that started with an online order so I called the toll-free number and spoke with a rep who was surprisingly delightful and caring! After her research into the matter, she transferred the call to a supervisor who was better equipped to provide assistance with my issue. The supervisor was equally delightful (!) and after deciding it was best dealt with at my local store level, she called a manager at Silverdale. He suggested that I come into the store and talk with any manager on duty, and so I did the next day. Although at first Manager, Summer, seemed skeptical, she took the time to thoroughly research in the problem (looking at my account, calling the manager who had been on duty, checking stock...), and then provided several flexible and positive solutions. The reason I think she was great is because after she inherited my problem, she completely "owned" the issue intent on finding appropriate, workable solutions. She was a joy to work with and I felt she was not only professional, but clearly she enjoys her job, feels respected and appreciated, and highly values the customer. (Note: When her earpiece had fallen out and she thought employees were ignoring her call to help a waiting customer, she laughed at herself recognizing it was her mistake- never once trying to shift the blame. Sure this isn't a big deal, but it represented a characteristic one would want in a supervisor!) I was an occasional Dick's customer previously because of convenience and price, but I am definitely now a LOYAL Dick's customer because of excellent customer service, and while surely Summer epitomizes excellent customer service, I had great, caring service from every employee involved! read more

Walked the entire inside perimeter of the store looking for guns and ammo (wanted shotgun ammo) or a sales person. Found the latter as I was nearing the exit. Asked, and was told, "[W]e don't carry bullets." read more

I was near the basketball hoops jumping and trying to touch the rim ( to see which hoops I can dunk on, In order to decide on my purchase chase) when an employee asked me to leave. Wow. I heard bad things about this place however I went in to buy a mountain bike. Stood in the bike area for 15 minutes with no employee to help. Walked up to the front and asked for assistance purchasing a bike. No one showed up to help. I approached 2 other employees and they both ignored me. Poor management and horrific customer service. This occurred May 5 at 1030. Stay away from this place. Go to big 5, sportsman's warehouse and local shops. read more

Helpful and kind staff! This store has amazing stuff on the clearance rack. I got two pairs of shorts for 90 cents! Some nice leggings, shirts and swim suits. In California, all this would have been gone! Glad I could find some my size. read more

I bought my kid a higher quality(mid $200 range) Wilson baseball glove today and at checkout we asked for it to be steamed. The cashier informed us that the person who does it says they were pretty busy so it will take about 45 mins. I told her it was ok and we'll come back. A little over an hour later we returned and the glove was at the counter. We asked if it was ready and was told they hadn't done anything with it yet and to come back it 25 minutes. We came back 15 mins later to walk by and see if it was on the counter. I received a call at that moment and was told it was ready. Not sure how long the steaming process is but I'll read up on it later. I just felt the customer service wasn't up to par during this visit It was like we were interrupting by asking for the steaming service that they offered. read more

I always seem to leave this store with something. They always have great deals on their sale racks and my kiddos love playing with the putters in the golf area. I bought some brand name women's workout clothing for about 1/2 of what I would have spent a few weeks ago and got my 6 year old daughters a couple of lightweight Adidas jackets for $15. I'm defiantly not going to complain about saving money. In addition to saving money they employees always seem really nice and out up with my kids terrorizing the store.I don't like the mall it's located in but there aren't any other malls in the area so I won't knock off a star for that. read more

I love the store, it has a little bit of everything. We've had good cust svc up until today when we went in to buy soccer shoes for our daughter. The footwear associate named, Arlene was very unwelcoming and had a bad demeanor with an unpleasant look on her face. She NEVER greeted us even when I asked her a question, nothing about this woman was pleasant. Other customers around us agreed that she was rude as well. This last time I stood in shoe section for 10 minutes and not one person showed up to help me. This is the last time I ever go to this store. This store is ridiculous. They will not let you try on any jackets in the dressing rooms. They tell you that you have to try it on in front of the mirror in the middle of the store for everyone to watch. Completely inappropriate and extremely rude about it. Store policy my ass! It's not like anyone could shoplift two ski coats with security devices on them. If I am going to spend over $200 I should be able to make sure it fits. Won't be going back here again. read more

Went in looking for a jacket and a pair of shoes. Several associates walked right by me before I found the jacket on my own. Pathetic. When I went to the footwear area, associate Dylan greeted me immediately and answered all my questions, showing great knowledge of the product. I left with a new pair of shoes that fit perfectly.
