The wait at the gun counter is incredibly slow. I was clearly standing in front of the ammo and was ignored by three employees walking past including the manager who walked past twice. Who is running this joint and what standards do you have towards servicing your customers? While actually talking to someone Pat specifically is super friendly and helpful, maybe he should be the manager instead of the clown there now. The response to the lower level reviews are a canned response and carry no weight. I don't think any effort towards improving customer service is being considered. I ordered two Smith & Wesson governors and they told me they would have them in a month Several months later, I'm still not received the guns and call them only to find out that they didn't carry the gun . This place is a joke! This place is a prime example of why you should just shop online and why we likely won't have gun stores like this in the future. If you're coming here to buy ammo expect to wait in line behind everybody buying guns and waiting for background checks. They keep pretty much all of the ammo behind the counter which is ridiculous. Somebody was able to finally find another worker that grabbed ammo for the people waiting and allowed us to go to the front and pay. The staff was friendly but they need to figure out a better process for buying ammo or just keep it in the front of the store for cashiers to grab. read more

Beware of advertised sales that they can't fulfill. I ordered a handgun online to be delivered to the Silverdale store, but after 2 weeks got a notice that they cancelled my order because of insufficient inventory. I think they advertise good deals knowing they don't have enough stock and will cancel your order. And, the Silverdale gun counter is under staffed. I had to wait over 30 minutes one time and then left because I couldn't wait any longer and the other time I had to wait over an hour. He said sorry as he was the only one working the gun counter. There were several other workers walking around, but apparently they can't help at the gun counter. I'm going to another store in the future. read more

Took over a month to get an item I ordered online that showed a week to pick up. I was offered free ammunition which is always great but then they tried to charge me for it. I declined. I was literally the only customer waiting with 5 employees standing around doing nothing but talking to one another for a solid ten minutes. Then I was asked for a ticket.... Bunch of robots. Been coming to Sportsman's for camp gear recently. This location is helpful, since we don't have a Cabela's or Bass pro this side of the bridge. I have purchased several guns from this store and ran into problems getting the backgrounds cleared. I have cancelled two purchases due to not getting my background paperwork back in time to complete the purchase, one was an Sig 10mm and the other was a Ruger 10-22. i was told I would have to resubmit and start over the background paperwork. I have never had this issue with other dealers in this area. I ended up purchasing the 10mm at Cabelas and the Ruger from a gun store in Gorst. I have a law enforcement back ground and have a Federal CCW so I know it was a problem with the Sportman Warehouse not my eligibility of owning a firearm. I spoke to the managers at the other stores and they both told me they received my paperwork back in less than a week so I'm not sure why Sportmans Warehouse wasnt getting it in time. read more

This experience took place in May-June of 2021. I wrote this review at that time but recently pulled it, believing my point had been made and didn't see the need to continue disparaging the store. I left the same review on their FB page. On one of them, I can't remember which one, the manager replied to tell me I was an idiot. His comment appears to have been deleted. I recently noticed that other people commented on the FB post with similar sentiments and after looking over some other Yelp reviews (of the Silverdale Wa. store) it seems maybe my review is warranted. I have shortened my story but it is still all true. Sportsmans Warehouse in Silverdale Wa. I recently purchased a handgun. This is a very small gun. It fits entirely in the palm of my hand. The small size made it difficult to notice any defects. The pictures, included below, are close-up and make the defects appear large, but they were not obvious. I inspected the gun before purchase and saw some small marks but thought they were decorative or "by design". Two employees also inspected the gun, even demonstrated breakdown and assembly and didn't notice the defects. I took it home and upon very close inspection noticed damage to the grip section. There appeared to be tool marks in several places, a file mark on the trigger guard, and small cracks in the frame under the barrel. I returned the gun the next day after work. I expected that Sportsmans would do what it took to make it right, but was told there was nothing they could do and if I wanted to get the gun fixed I would have to pay the shipping charge (or buy a service plan) to send it back to the gun company. This seemed pretty unfair sense they sold a defective product, but I was told that the, "buyer should beware." I dished out the extra 30 or 40 bucks to get my "new" gun sent back to the factory. After a month of hearing nothing I called to see what had happened. It turns out the gun had, "arrived just this morning." (didn't really believe that). So I picked up the gun that day after work. When I got home I noticed the second magazine was missing. Once again, another call to sportsmans. I was told that it wasn't their fault and I would have to call the gun company to look for my missing magazine. I suggested that they give me a magazine and that THEY call the gun company to have their magazine replaced, thus inconveniencing themselves instead of their customer. Nope. I then explained the whole story to the manager hoping to get the service fee refunded after this fiasco. Nope. I was told that the company couldn't bear the cost of all these customers complaining. All in all, just about the worst purchasing experience and customer service I've ever had. The manager had zero sense of customer service, and instead it seemed like any concession he gave to a customer would be a huge personal loss for him. read more

I had heard things about this store from people and hesitated going in but I need some things and didn't want to go all the way to cabelas. It was very swift in getting what I needed. I bought a new fishing pole and was super excited to get on the water but when I got home I realized one of the guides was broken off. I went back to the store 2 days later no receipt and no tags, just told them I hadn't used it and realized it was damaged. IMMEDIATELY offered to exchange it no questions asked! Was thinking 1 star might be harsh, but when you fail in a critical point, we'll, I can't rate it better than a 1 star. Sportsman's is an outfitting store. The nature of its purpose is that it sells items often in advance of their intended time of use. Like that backpacking trip you plan on in several months. yet Sportsmans's has a 30 day return policy. That is good and fine if you want to put a limit on buyers regret on unused items. When a product fails upon first use in the backcountry, however, that is a different story. I purchased a Smith and Wesson machete 6 months ago and just got the opportunity to use it in the backcountry for the first time. The blade cracked when cutting a limb. Clearly a warranty issue. Sportsman's, because it was outside of 30 days, refused to stand by the product. Thankfully, S&W was. Still, I will not use Sportsman's to provide gear I need to be dependable done the road. They will not stand by it if you bought it longer than 30 days ago. That is a fail on a critical point. I can absorb that loss, but newcomers outfitting themselves for the future, need better than that unless their pockets are deep enough to throw money away on products from this store. read more

This store is now called Wholesale Sports. Every time my husband and I go to this store we are terribly dissappointed. They rarely carry the type of ammo my husband uses and the employees are not helpful at all. We were there a few days ago and the THREE employees behind the counter completely ignored us for 15 minutes before we finally left. Another time one of the employees told us that they did not carry the product we were looking for but then we found it in a nearby aisle. Sadly this is one of the few stores of this type in the area. The crew at Sportsman's Warehouse are always polite, informative, and responsible when I deal with them. I made my first purchases this year of a semi-automatic hand gun and rifle. Despite long lines and a bevy of orders, these folks managed well. The customer service people try their level best to help you with any situation. My favorite thing this year about Sportsman's is how they managed the whole masking thing. They adhered to state and federal guidelines without the "big brothering" of some other stores in our area. I'm a first time gun owner and purchased a gun here. They made the process very easy, and were very helpful on what might work for me. A great sleeting too. There was a bit of a line up and wait at the gun counter. I'm thinking 20 to 30 minutes, as buying guns is very popular at the moment. They probably staffed it for their regular business, not realizing the surge they would get this summer. They were completely out of 90% of ammunition. I ended up having to order from another supplier on line. Again I attribute to the surge however they might want to consider this when ordering more. read more

My son and I went in to return a knife that broke. It was my first time in. While he was in the knife section I pulled a number at the gun counter to ask a question or two. 30 minutes later my number still hadn't been called and I was next up. With over five employees behind the counter and since they were only helping one person at a time I thought I'd ask why the holdup. The answer was that they had three managers training people!? Inefficient and untruthful employees. The gun counter is extremely undermanned, I took a number and was directed by an employee that my number would not get called for at least three hours, so he suggested that I leave and grab lunch. I left for one hour, returned and my number had already been called. The same employee then told me too bad and that I would have to get another number and begin my position again at the beginning of the line. Had such a great experience this week. My boyfriend and I went to purchase some fishing poles and equipment two days ago and had a couple salesmen come by and help us find the things we needed. He went fishing the next day with his new fishing pole, and then his brother stepped on it and broke it. I brought it to the customer service the day after (2 days after official purchase-with receipt) asking if there was anything they could do and they said I could exchange the pole for a new one-be it the same pole or another and we would figure out the price difference if it came down to it. Luckily I found the exact same one! He's off fishing today with his brother (and a little cheap pole he had to buy on the fly) and I'm so excited to surprise him when he gets home. I purchased two items that required a back ground check from my local sheriff. After waiting multiple weeks I thought there may be some sort of issue. After contacting Sportsman's directly over three separate occasions with no help I decided to call the sheriffs office directly, when doing so I was informed that the background check had been sent in multiple days prior and my items should of been ready for pick-up, that's when things took an even more unfortunate turn. I contacted sportsman's again and was given the same answer as the days prior. The manager on duty for this department (Cole) waisted nearly 5 hours of my time sending me on a wild goose chase. Finally the lengthy adventure ended with them locating the background check that had been sitting for multiple days, no apologies just a little laugh like nothing happened. All that to be said, as long as Manager Cole is employed at this location I will not be back. read more

They have byzantine policies (of which every single worker seems to have a different take on every time I call), then they make things as inconvenient as possible such as simple refund on internet order. Lions and Tigers and Bears? Well, not really BUT there are Ducks, Bear, Coyotes, Fox, Fish and all kinds of assorted stuffed animals. The common theme here is that they all roamed the earth for a period of time before they met their demise at the hand of a sportsman. These "prizes" are hanging from the ceiling and appear around many corners in the store and have plaques that tell who donated them. Kinda creepy. Once you get past that, the store does have a great selection of outdoor gear, firearms, ammo, camo and some things that are flamo (no, I am not a poet). The staff is very helpful and friendly. So, if you need to get that deer field dressing kit (don't ask) or skull bleach kit or many other outdoor type hunting, fishing, hiking or camping gear, this is your place. It is actually a real nice store with friendly, knowledgeable staff. read more

Hmmm...there are some bad reviews about customer service - maybe its just me, but I'm one that if I am going to a Sportsman's store for purchasing a weapon, I will already know what I want. Shopping for guns & ammo, is not like shopping for a new pair of shoes. Granted, this place does sell clothing, so those comments are justified - but, anything else: i.e., guns, ammo, knives, flashlights, fishing gear, camping gear, etc. you should know before you walk in, what you want. All it is, at the point, is whether they carry it or not. Anyways, I went to the gun counter, and received excellent help regarding purchasing a shotgun. I had basic questions - price, gage, length of barrel, round capacity - and each one was answered. They were even helpful with my daughter, who was looking at rifles. Kudso to the employee, Hunter, for being very patient with us. I did not purchase anything, but they did solidfy what I may need. Definitely will be back with the family. I've come to really enjoy Sportsman's Warehouse as a brand. Unfortunately, my experience today did not live up to the expectations that they have set for me in the past. I needed a new pair of shoes but the ones I wanted apparently had all the stock in the back. Couldn't locate anyone to help me for the 15 minutes I stood around perusing the various models, even though I heard what must have been employees carrying on conversations in the back. I finally left the store, got on the phone and called Merrell. They answered my questions and I had shoes on order in less time than I spent aimlessly wandering the store. I was hoping to walk out of the store with shoes today, but I guess they weren't too interested in that, so I'll get them on Tuesday instead (with free shipping and free exchanges). read more

Long Story Short: Do not buy a gun with your family present with you inside of Sportsman Warehouse or they will assume you're doing a strawman purchase and waste you're time. Not a family friendly store I made a Yelp account solely to write this review. I went to the store today to buy a shotgun with my girlfriend. The gun was for me however she was going to shoot it as well. I asked to check out a Mossberg 500 Youth Model and began inspecting the gun. I liked the way it was handling so I handed it to my girlfriend so she could inspect it as well. She said she liked the way it felt as well. So I informed the clerk I would like to purchase it. The clerk I was dealing with left with the gun and brought out another employee to begin questioning me who the gun is really for. I informed him that the gun was for me and it was going to stay at my house in my gun safe. He asked if my girlfriend was going to use the gun, I informed him that yes she would use it and so would my other family members but the purchase was for me. At this point I started filling out the normal paperwork for buying a gun, went through all the paperwork. They came back later and said that they were denying me the purchase because they believed it was a strawman purchase. I am unsure why they made me wade through all the paperwork if they were already under the impression this was a strawman purchase. I asked them why they thought it was a strawman purchase, and they informed me they just believed it was. I left the store and called the gun desk manager John and asked him why they thought it was a strawman purchase, hey kept giving me the same answer "Due to the questions we asked and you answered we believed this was a strawman purchase". I informed him that they only asked me one question and if the gun was for me or not and it was for me. I asked him again what exactly made them think it was a strawman purchase, John only repeated him self. I asked him if families are allowed to purchase guns together to ensure if everyone likes the gun that the person is buying he again repeated his spiel "Due to the questions we asked and you answered we believed this was a strawman purchase". John the manager was no help at all so I decided to call the corporate number and attempt to get information from them. I called the corporate number and I informed them of the situation. They informed me that they would call John the gun manager themselves and I was put on hold. After about ten minutes corporate came back on the phone and informed me that John had told them that because I had my girlfriend there with me and she handled the gun they believed it was a strawman purchase. I don't understand why John couldn't tell me that himself and kept repeating his same spiel. Overall very poor experience. What is the point of buying guns if you can't take your family with you to see if they like it as well? Won't be going back here again. read more

So I have always been loyal to this store. Even when cabelas and dicks popped up everywhere. Well not anymore. I took my reel that i bought and had lined there back because the line was done sloppily.(no big deal it happens) well i didnt have my receipt because honestly i have never had to because ive always had the product to return or exchange. Well apparently not with line. So i had to pay twice to have my reel lined right. Same line done twice. This hunting manager that was there was pretty rude and said "you can wait a half an hour for the fishing manager but i cant do anything". What u dont cross train your employees on how to exchange?
