We have been using this company since 2019 to come and spray for spiders on the outside of the house. We have pets and kids and haven't had issues regarding toxicity (we just follow the instructions given not to go in the yard for 4 hours or so.) We've had interactions with Michelle when booking the appointments and with David who comes to spray. I have been using there services for about 2 years almost now. I went to book online for another spray. Online it states for the first spray its $100. I've paid that. Then it states after its $65, which I've been paying every time I book. I do not book on a regular basis. Ever. All of a sudden Michelle calls and says it will be $100 because I haven't booked within the last 3 months! No where on their website does it say that! She says it changed in January. Ok well change your website! It's now October! My dad is an attorney, that is false advertising and illegal! This will be reported to the BBB. She was completely rude about it on the phone when I told her it doesn't say that on the website and she needed to honor that since that's how I booked, she said no, it's $100. No! As we know, poisoning rats and mice leads to the death of our other beautiful wildlife in the area - hawks, coyotes, mountain lions - even cats and dogs. I waited some time to write this review because i was extremely angry with them for a ling time and needed To cool down before writing this. They replaced my front facade siding before consulting with me. They cost me 3000 dollar to replace it. The damged part was only on the bottom and i ended up replacing the whole front facade. Also the trellis members they replaced was not primed all the way. It was rainy season when they did the work. All the members were bent with in a month. Their workmanship is horrible but the worst is the owners. They handled this so poorly. Horrible horrible customer service. I was complaining about them to two realtors i know and guess what they also had bad experiences with them. Wish i could give 0 star. read more

I granted permission for Gold Coast Pest Control to access my property since I share a property line with my neighbor (their client). They had to remove one slat from my fence in order to wrap fumigation tenting around my neighbor's house. They removed three, leaving a 1.5-foot opening into my yard immediately next to an area with high foot traffic. I kindly requested that they send someone back out to reattach two slats, to reduce ease of access to my back yard. They refused to do so. They are uncaring and unprofessional. I normally don't write reviews but I feel so strongly about this company that I want to warn other Yelpers. This posting is long but conveys multiple instances in which Gold Coast proved to be extremely unethical, non-responsive, and demonstrating miserable customer service. After using Gold Coast for our home inspection, we moved forward with scheduling wood repair and termite tenting per their inspection results. I made the appointment toward the end of October, and prior to receiving services in December, Gold Coast charged me in full without my authorization. We let that go as we were still scheduled for work to be completed. Come the week of work, we met the wood repair crew who completed the job prior to tenting to ensue. A few days later we began moving into our new home as Michelle, the Gold Coast rep, had told us that we were clear to move in on that day by noon. To our surprise, our neighbors told us the house was never tented. I immediately contacted Michelle who said she would investigate and respond ASAP. Several days goes by and I do not hear from her. Email, text, call, no response. Almost a week later she finally she responds and informs me that the tenting did not occur because the company could not access the gas line (which is easily accessible behind an unlocked gate that I told her of before the process). Why was I not contacted when the issue first occurred? And why didn't Gold Coast tell me the work was not completed? Would Gold Coast even have told me the house was not tented if my neighbors had not let us know? After another week of emails and calls trying to reach Michelle who will not respond, I finally get in touch with her and find the company will not doing anything to remedy the situation, including being unable to accommodate my requested make up dates. We agree to a refund as I no longer want to do business with an uncommunicative, unethical company causing me weeks, now months, of stress. On 12/20/16 she finally agrees to issue a refund check. Two weeks later, no word or check so I ask for status of the check on 1/3. Michelle tells me checks are issued the 1st and 15th of the month... Another two weeks later it's now 1/15 and I have still not received a refund check. I find it unbelievable that this company still has not refunded me close to $2000 for services charged prior to authorization/completion more than 2 months ago now... The kicker. After requesting a refund we received a second opinion with another company who informed us that tenting is not required as we do not have active termites in the home, and that preventative services is the correct course of action. ---------- UPDATE on 1/17: Gold Coast sent me this email, "Thank you for your yelp review after we bent over backwards and gave you a bigger refund than you were entitled to." Let me just say my work authorization form stated that fumigation was $1650 and the refund they provided was $1625. And another another passive aggressive email, "...Best of luck in the future I would not be surprised to see that home have swarmers next summer." The experience was spoiled by office person, Michelle, who's hostility is unmatched. This involved a reimbursement for my electronic door lock that was damaged. Tent removal was delayed and I was at neighbors house awaiting. Door was left wide open and some odd "key" was inserted into door lock; no pre-warning or instructions, so when I tried to remove, it jammed lock and broke off. No biggie, stuff happens; but her attempts to blame me were unacceptable. I had to stage a sit-in at the office to ensure she would do her job. This does not reflect well on the business (ie query competence) and I would not recommend based on the "face" of this company. Who needs this grief? read more

This is a follow up to a prior poor review we had given this company. On top of terrible customer service, we've since had updated termite inspection and repair on our home during which we received multiple comments as to the exceptionally poor level of quality of repairs our previous company performed. Not only was their work unsightly, but its all rotten and full of maggots as a result of improper sealing. Our new company has completely taken out and redone all of the work performed by gold coast 2 years ago. Don't use this company! I recently bought a house with a CalShake roof, which the previous owner had to treat for termites for escrow. Gold Coast knew there would be no way to tent the property without causing irreparable damage to the roof. But they went ahead and tented the property anyway and caused $40,000 worth of damage. The whole roof needs to be replaced! I found out from every roofer I called that this type of roof CAN NEVER BE TENTED! CalShake roofs are notorious in the industry and have had class action lawsuits against them for the last 30 years. I had a door-to-door solar panel salesman turn around and walk away when I said we had a CalShake roof. If he knew, then I have no doubt Gold Coast did too. Now, I have to go after the seller to get the money to fix this roof, hopefully before it rains. I repeat, don't use this company! read more

This company cares. I was not part of the initial conversations with Gold Coast as we were buying a house that had termites. So Gold Coast was hired for us and we were in charge of paying them. Not the best scenario. But we got really lucky. Michelle is their receptionist, office manager, and everything else you can think of. She's so incredibly accommodating. Since we were not part of the initial inspection, we had a LOT of questions throughout the process and she always was there to answer them. She also worked with us on the price. Really great deal. We had some work done on the house to fix the termite damage and again, we were not present for any of this as we had not moved in. When we came back to see the work done, I had questions. They talked me through everything as I had taken before and after pictures. Since I wasn't present for the work, they sensed my frustration. Everything was put in nicely but I didn't know what I was looking at. So Gary, Rick, and Sam, who did the original work, came out to not only walk me through everything, but then fixed up anything they felt was not up to their standard. Half the stuff I didn't even see! They did more work on the actual house then was contracted because, as they said, they stand by their work. They pointed out what was contracted, and then showed me the extra work they did because they wanted it all to look great. As they were leaving, I told them I was going to fix up the normal wear and tear done by the previous owner. They gave me the rest of their wood filler to get me started. They also talked me through some additions I wanted to do and told me how to do it. Really above and beyond. Finally, the fumigators were third party vendors who specifically specialize in fumigation. Gold Coast's name is on the line so they really hired the best. It was about the same cost as some of the bigger names too. But the guys that did the work were fast and very accommodating. We couldn't get into the garage and they ended up coming back the next day to finish tenting. Really great company that I highly recommend. read more

We bought our home back in May 2016. We had a termite inspection from another company. Termite damage was noted and repaired and we were told that the property was properly treated for termites. After moving in we had swarmers several times in our Master bedroom. The other company wanted to charge us a lot of money to do treatment and repairs. I called a friend and realtor Tammy Calhoun she referred me to Michelle at Gold Coast Pest Control. We had three companies come out and Gold Coast found the most damage and was the most reasonable for repair costs. When I went to hire Gold Coast to do the work I told Michelle that we had just purchased the house. She was not happy and said that she felt we were taken advantage of by the other company. She gave me the advice to contact the Dept. of Consumer Affairs Structural Pest Control Board. We did so and the other company was held accountable and all repairs and treatment were done at no additional cost. Gold Coast Pest Control was hired to tent neighbors house. THEY do not tent for fumigation they hire another company to do it. Called them that I am have a severe allergic reaction to the chemicals and they said "call Dow Chemical"! After several unanswered calls from the owner of Gold Coast Pest Control I am taking legal action against the company for my medical bills. This could have all been settled with a simple return call. I am so impressed with this company. They are super honest, very knowledgeable/helpful and fast. I had a termite problem. They came out within 2 days, and arrived on time. The inspector David, was great. He explained what the problem was and exactly how it would be fixed. The next part is the best part though.... I recently purchased my home and it turns out, through that inspection, I may be covered for the work. I would not have known this if it were not for Michelle at Gold Coast. She reviewed my prior report and talked me through the process of how to get the work completed under that warranty. What an honest company! We were in the middle of a bathroom remodel when we discovered evidence of termites. Michelle in the office made an extra effort to schedule a same-day inspection and timely treatment of the infested wood. The two men were on time, communicated clearly how and what they would use to address the problem and made sure to let me know that they suspected possible water damage in an area inaccessible to them at the time. They left the area clean and reminded me that any workers in that space in the next 24hours should wear gloves and/or wash their hands in case any of the chemical had not completely dried. If I could give this company zero stars I would. It took me quite a while to write this, I think our experience was so negative that I needed time to cool off. This company is completely unprofessional. We were required to use them through our escrow company, and not knowing any better at the time we didn't fight it. When they came out to evaluate our home they claimed that there was termite damage and water damage to several structures. Our contractor had inspected those areas and stated that the "termite" damage on the eaves was actually some water damage prior to replacement of the roof. There was also water damage below our sink... in cabinets that we had no intention of keeping as we were gutting the kitchen. Unfortunately, they required us to do repairs to things that we were not even keeping such as the wooden siding on one surface of the house (we were replacing it with stucco anyway), the water damage under the sink (in cabinets we were removing anyway), etc. When we had called them to reason with them and have the items removed from the bid (PRIOR to the work being done) the owner's daughter actually told my fiance that "they needed the money. So, they would do all or nothing." This was shortly before we were to close escrow and they knew we wouldn't be able to close escrow without their signature on our paperwork. In other words, they had us over a barrel. So, for the sake of getting our home we sucked it up and paid them for BS work that didn't need to be done. It was infuriating however, to be taken advantage of so blatantly. All communications with this company were negative. I highly recommend that others take their business elsewhere. read more
