The Termite Guy tented our house for termites. Overall, they did a fine job putting up the tent, walking me through the process, and responding to my questions. And even repairing my clay tile roof. Yes, the workers did break some clay tiles, but TTG warranty covers the ones they break. They had someone from their renovation and construction branch (yes, they have one) come out to repair the tiles they broke. Since they were fixing the clay tiles anyway, I had them repair the rest of the tiles and do some minor stucco repair as well. For the tile and stucco patching, their quote came in just a hair lower than other competitors, but for the gutter replacement, TTG came in quite a bit higher other shops. So, definitely get competing bids for general repair work. The reason it's four stars instead of five is because in through most phases of work, I had to do a bit of clean up. This was a minor issue for me, but may be more of an issue for the elderly or disabled. Shout-outs to a couple of people: - Gilbert was our inspector. He was responsive, knowledgeable, AND gracious enough to drive out to us twice to give us termite bags for our foodstuffs. He was a pleasure to work with. (Do I think it's strange for an industry to have its inspectors make their commission from the fumigation companies? I sure do! But hey, that's capitalism for ya!) - Nick was the guy who gave us the estimate for our roof repairs. He was professional and generally helpful about the work that needed to be done. - Mike came and repaired our clay tiles. He was knowledgeable, polite, and meticulous. read more

I'm giving 2 stars partially because the termites were remediated. Unfortunately the customer experience is far from good. Like other customers giving low reviews, if you have clay or concrete tiles and you are seeking full fumigation, you might face a similar outcome. I'd be okay with this risk if it was disclosed early on. Unfortunately I was called about an extra liability waiver while the job was starting (sub-contract team was on-site and tenting material was rolled out on the ground). This gave me no time to weigh my options as I and the family had already spent two days packing and preparing the house while already moved out. By springing this last minuet liability waiver on me, you've placed the customer in a bad spot. I had to ask myself: do I drop the job after all the work put in to preparing the house, taking time off work, and moved out? or do I accept a strongly worded liability notice that extensive damage will occur? I signed the liability waiver. So I accept that I'm responsible (financially) for the damage. However you delegated the job to a sub-contractor (Best Care Fumigation) and collectively created a very poor customer experience. I currently have roofing repair and solar panel contractors coming out for repairs. See attached photos for 20+ tiles broken and evidence workers walked across my solar install. My advice for providing a better experience to future customers is: 1) Do the job yourself and not sub-contract. 2) Have better standards with sub-contracting. 3) Incentivize your sub-contractor to balance out speed of the job with quality of the job (performance based bonus). 4) Give the liability waiver to all customers with tile roofs when you do your initial quote... not when the job starts. 5) Offer insurance to your customers so that they pay in order to ensure damage/risk is covered. Well, I had a situation today that started out pretty dire for me. I went in my bedroom and found at least 50 termites swarming around the carpet. I went to vacuum it up and five minutes later I had more termites. I called several pest control companies said that they can come out on Monday well by Monday I probably wouldn't have a house. About a year ago we used this company for termites. If you have a tile roof beware. They take absolutely no responsibility for broken tiles or vent pipes. I went back and forth and got tired of their lies. Beware. Get up on your roof and take pictures of the before, that's all they will believe. We finally had a professional roofer come look. We have over 20 tiles broken, they said they didn't break any. We are spending $2600 to fix the roof. Oh, and in case someone says that I'm not in their files I'm attaching the email. read more

Noticed that I had termite droppings falling from a small hole in my ceiling yesterday. Called Termite Guy right away, and they got Kevin out to my house this morning. He got in the rafters and confirmed that the damage was very minor. He treated it on the spot and told me what to watch for in case they come back, as well as laid out what additional treatment options were available in case I end up needing it. The estimator and the office are not the same as the vendor that performs the tenting. The fumigation crew was nice but they told me they were understaffed and that's why they didn't finish on time. Not a big issue. Dish Network ha been notified of the fumigation. When they returned to reinstall the dish I was asked to come up and look at the damage that was done by the fumigation company. The Termite Guy uses a release of liability clause for damage to tile and even show example photos of tile in the contract. I have a composition roof. The ridge cap was crushed and ripped with holes in the majority of the ridge line. Also had a boot crush one of the roof vents. I expected some wear but was not prepared for the blatant disregard, negligence and damage. At their request I was asked to provide photos and an estimate for the damage. Then was told it was not their responsibility. I was told it had to go to "Corporate". The repairs will be $4000. They took $500 off the fumigation bill and said if I didn't like it, take them to small claims court. I'm fortunate that the Dish Network technician pointed out the damage. I never would have known my roof was so damaged. I would not have been able to prepare for the rain and undoubtedly would have received a great deal of water damage. Its disturbing that they would take advantage of a disabled senior citizen. And if they did it to me you know there are others. read more

I called The Termite Guy this morning regarding little black bugs that I thought were termites all throughout my house. They appeared overnight and I had noted a swarm of termites outside my home so I thought they were termites. John, the inspector, happened to be in the area and stopped by within a half hour of my call. He informed me I have rove beetles not termites. Mary was very knowledgeable and helped me understand what I should be looking for in the company I chose and never tried to force her company on me. Do not use these guys!!!! They have a clause in their contract (like most companies) that prevents liability on broken roofing tiles; however, they use this as an excuse to be utterly reckless. We had over 50 roofing tiles broken; of which, were in fine shape prior to this work.
