Angel is amazing. I always let him know when I'm going to be away, and he is extremely responsive. He sprays for all sorts of bugs every other month. Before he came I was getting all sorts of nasty bugs in my house (crickets, cockroaches , and spiders) but since he has been spraying regularly I never get any of these. I recently hired Clark to fumigate my house for dry wood termites...or at least I thought I was hiring Clark. They basically pull a bait and switch on fumigations, they sell you they are doing the fumigations but once you sign the contract, Clark subcontracts fumigation work to a company called SoCal Fumigation. The salesman Dan Smith was not upfront with me about this and I only found out another company was doing the work less than a day before the work. This did not give us time to cancel our hotel reservation and look for another company so we had to go through with the work. One of my concerns with having the house tented was the crew walking on the solar panels mounted on the roof, Dan Smith from Clark Pest and Hugo from SoCal Fumigation assured me that would not happen. Well, as they were removing the tent i watched one guy made a direct step onto the panels so I shouted up from the ground and asked him not to. After this, I climbed up their ladder and saw a lot of footprints on the solar panels from when they installed the tent. They don't care at all about protecting solar panels. A few minutes later I saw one of the crew removing the tent from the chimney cap. They had completely flattened the chimney cap. So this guy is up there trying to bend the chimney cap and make it look like it's fine. He finishes, climbs down, and goes onto another project. I climb up their ladder again and find that he just set the chimney cap on the masonry work, it was not fastened in any way. Our chimney cap is 13" x 18" made from sheet steel and expanded metal mesh. Basically something that could easily blow off if it's not fastened, fall down to our back yard, and seriously injure someone. It was a serious safety hazard and this guy was going to say nothing. The chimney cap was beyond repair so I had to have it replaced. Additionally they damaged two other flue caps and several shingles. You have to sign a form that states you will fix any of the roof damage. Plan on adding a couple hundred dollars or more to fix what they break on the roof when they are done. I also noticed these guys dug holes in my yard. I asked about this and they said they needed dirt for something. Heres the thing, these guys are so lazy and careless that they dug holes in the landscaping right where they needed the dirt. The other half of our yard is being redone and just dirt, all they had to do is walk to get a shovel-full of dirt. One hole where they dug in new landscaping was 8' away from 2 cubic yards of fresh planting dirt that had just been delivered. Yet they destroyed new landscaping for a shovel-full of dirt. Two more things. 1. Their truck leaked oil on our driveway. 2. They walked on our daughter's bed with their boots on to open/ close a window. Yep, dirty footprints all over her bed. So did I have a good experience with Clark Pest? Absolutely not. If I need fumigation again I will shop for a company that actually does the work and will treat our house with a little more respect. Here is my text conversation with Dan Smith about the work being subcontracted- Me: hey, why didn't you tell me you were contracting this work out to another company? Dan Smith, Clark Pest: I did, we spoke about it on my second visit when I brought the bags and had the notices for you to sign. Me: uh no, you mentioned multiple times about "your guys" and "our crew". you certainly never told me the company name. i can't even find a bit of useful info on Socal Fumigation. this really feels like a bait and switch Dan Smith: I assure you it is not. This is the same service that our company has been providing since 1941. I apologize if I made you feel in any way uneasy. We and they are fully licensed, insured and bonded. Me: so why are they doing the fumigation not Clark? Dan Smith: The only thing Clark doesn't do in house is fumigations. Me: who is this company Socal Fumigation? What kind of guarantee do they offer on their service? Dan Smith: They guarantee that the job will be completed to industry standards and we offer a 2 year guarantee. So basically, if the termite activity doesn't stop - they will redo at no charge Our guarantee covers you for evidence showing up with in 2 years. Me: who is this company Socal Fumigation? Dan Smith: They are a company dedicated to only fumigations. They are in Oxnard and we have done thousands of fumigations with them. I have personally done a hundred or more Me: do they only do contract work with other pest companies? trying to figure out why their digital footprint is almost nill. Dan Smith: Yes they only work with termite companies because of the report writing. In order to have a fumigation done in California, first you must have an inspection from a licensed inspector. Then a report is filed with the state. When and only when the presence of dry wood termites is found the fumigation can be done. We do all of the inspections, reports and filings. 3 stars and that is because I am being nice. 5 stars to the technicians. Had them for two years. The technician that came out always friendly, polite, dog friendly. Can not speak highly enough of the technicians. 1 star for phone customer service. They called regarding an expired credit card, I gave her current information and it gave me the opportunity to ask about rate increases without notifying me. Not a lot but enough to where I think a proper notification should have been given. 2 increases it seemed within a year. The woman I spoke to was snarky and arrogant. I said she seemed not to value customer relationships and I said I should just cancel my service of two plus years. She said she could help me with that. I thought well if my business means nothing to you then go ahead and cancel. I mentioned that $1000's of dollars are spent on advertising and she is literally throwing away a solid based autopay customer. I am very late in writing this review, but it doesn't change the fact that Clark Pest Control is wonderful. I was finding random bees in my house one day. The following day, my daughter said she heard bees in the bathroom vent. I went outside and found bees flying in and out of the vent exhaust area. Of course it was a Friday after work and I was desperate to find someone to come out that evening or the next morning. I called Clark and they said someone could come out the next morning. A technician showed up at the time that was scheduled. He assessed the issue, told me what he would do, and gave me a quote. After signing some paperwork, he "suited up", sprayed some "dust" in an area next to the vent and took care of my problem. He cleaned up the area from any lingering "dust" and was done in less than an hour. I haven't had any bees in my home or seen any near the vent since. Great job!! read more

Horrible experience after trying to help a local business. I hired them for a specific task which is Rodent control, they sprayed for spiders as they said. The tech showed up late after 30 minutes he took an hour lunch and told me he forgot the rodent traps at work. Imagine the horror of learning you have termites, two kinds, in the back, in the front and moving up to the rafters. That's exactly what happened and when we called Clark Pest Control, they sent Bill Peterson. The perfect guy to handle my husband who was in shock, unable to comprehend that there was no longer any wood behind the paint on the front of the house. Slowly, with great finesse, Bill toured and inspected and found we had dry wood termites in the back and subterranean termites in the front and in the garage. Bill was just right: laid back and informative, quiet, polite and funny! He even came inside to meet our dog. Joe and Rick came on time on the appointed day and did the best job of professional repairs on all of the damaged wood, replacing and painting. I cannot even tell where the termites were. The drilling into the slab to get the subterranean termites was meticulously completed; again, I could barely discern where they had drilled. They cleaned up all of the debris, the barely existing eaten wood and even the nails that fell, leaving not one thing that could possible show you what had been destroying our home. These people are professional, warm and friendly, excellent craftsmen and welcome for Thanksgiving! We have signed up with Clark for regular checks and recommend their service to everyone, especially our neighbors who live within 75 yards of the subterranean colony since we are now protected! So first off my parents house is in ventura right off the beach. They had a check for rats and the inspector said the attic area was bad along with the insulation. Come to find out no rat issue and and had no business working at the house. All they did was change the insulation which could of been left alone . These inspectors are worse than the car salesman from the 80s. TOTAL LIARS AND WAY WAY expensive for what they do. Also dont get me started on the quality of work the termite wood workers do. I am so angry at Clark Pest Control. The technician came out and gave me an estimate for about $1400 to plug up holes in my mother's house and the garage. I chose not to sign up for a monthly service, and they canceled on me because that's their deal--either monthly or not at all. The technician was nice enough, but if I hadn't called two days before the appointment to find out about their environmental standards, he just wouldn't have shown up. They wasted my time. We have been with Clark for a couple of years now and they are excellent at coming whenever we call them. Today, we called because we spotted one dead mouse and one live one in our garage. Within 10 minutes of calling the Technician by the name of Tony was at our door. He was really friendly, professional and he immediately found where the mice were getting in. He placed some steel wool in the holes and placed a few traps after inspecting both the inside and the outside for holes. He was really helpful and knowledgable. He was reassuring and he let me know that he will be back several times over the next few weeks to check the traps. He explained that we would need to replace the weather stripping due to mice chewing through it. So we immediately went to home depot to buy the stripping. Got back home and opened the garage to install the stripping and sure enough, a mouse was in the trap. It had only been a couple of hours. I really appreciate the immediate response. I've had this company service my house for a while n was quite satisfied with Daren, then tech. Had him check out a rental house of mine for mice in the attic. This guy Deren was weird!!! All technical and talking BS like it was a major job. I called and spoke with manager Dan who assured me Daren would not do the job bcs it was not his territory. Next I receive a call from Dan stating that Daren knows my tenant n my tenant would only allow Daren to do the job. Bull!!!! Dan quoted me $785. I smelled a rat! Pun...
