Side dishes
Melimited T.

Second time here. Came in for quick pick up on Wednesday afternoon. Cozy place, plenty of tables, simple decor, clean, family friendly. Staff were very friendly. They have a self serve water machine. Got our food after about 10-15 mins. Plenty of side dishes. I got the bulgogi and kimchi fried rice. big chunk of unmixed white rice, plenty of kimchi and some meat, and a nice layer of cheese. For a little less than $20, it was a really big portion. Got a side of marinated squid, highly recommended!! Flavorful , sesame seeds was toasted nicely no old moldy sesame taste. Overall, would come back

Tons of side dishes with awesome kimchi stew
Chi P.

Another place I go to regularly and somehow never reviewed. This little place is the definition of a hole in the wall with fantastic home-made tasting food. The kimchi stew tastes as good as the ones my friends' moms make. They always use very ripe kimchi. Their dumpling soup is also very good with broth that actually has flavor. Their meats are all well marinated and the stone pot bi bim bap is awesome! They also give you tons of side dishes. Their prices are also much lower than most of the places nearby. The Aunties don't speak a lot of English but they're always so kind. Love this place. **Tip: if you prefer white rice make sure to ask or they'll automatically give you the rice with stuff like beans.

After viewing the eatery place from one of Yelp's Elite, had a sudden urge of craving for authentic blood sausages soup called ( soon dae guk) in Norwalk/Cerritos border. Restaurant called Go Hyung Jip, meaning ( birth place / home town). It's not fancy or rustic decor but the food taste very rustic and homey. Service warm, kind, feels like next door neighbor, ( ajumma) constantly asking if I needed more side dishes or rice or water. Food was very satisfying met my expectation. Although, it's little out of my way but will visit more often as craving kicks in. Will try different menus also. Thanks Rodney S. For reminder of the restaurant !!!

Spicy marinated raw crab
Jennifer C.

You guys! This place sell spicy marinated raw crabs and they are delicious! The most sought after crabs on TikTok are finally at a place not in ktown. These crabs are not salty at all and pairs really well with nori and short grain rice. Also pro tip, you can freeze the crab to extend it's shelf life if you can't finish it within 3 days. The other foods are good too. I really like their kimchi soup, the one with the beef stew in it. Also the perilla leaves cut knife noodles is one of my fave dish in the winter. And every time my mom craves bibimbap in hot stone, this is the place to go. The staff here is super nice. They don't speak a ton of English but they will understand you. I kind of just point to what I want or have my brother order in his elementary Korean. Ambience has been the same. Very casual. It's what you expect from a small business. It's very clean. They close at 6, so come early!

Korean food to my soul! My go to Hangover meal spot! Its not a high end fancy place and thats what I like about this place. It has awesome Korean soup with combo options. Generous portions as well!

The food was delicious. I devoured a whole bowl of Dol Soht Bibimbap (돌솥 비빔밥)! Which serves as Steamed rice with assorted vegetables cooked in a hot stone pot. Scrapping the rice from the bottom of the hot stone pot was the best food I've ever eaten! Will I definitely come back here again? Absolutely yes! The service was immaculate! From the moment I stepped foot into the establishment, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my experience was nothing short of extraordinary. Not only was the service impeccable, but the attention to detail in every aspect was truly impressive. The ambiance of the place was inviting and elegant, creating a soothing atmosphere that instantly made me feel at ease. The decor was tastefully done, combining modern elements with a touch of classic charm. But it wasn't just the aesthetics that left a lasting impression on me; it was the dedication and professionalism of the staff that truly set this place apart. From the knowledgeable waitstaff who guided me through the menu, making excellent recommendations, to the attentive servers who ensured that my every need was met, the level of service was unparalleled. The food itself was a culinary masterpiece. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared with the freshest ingredients, bursting with flavors that danced on my taste buds. The presentation was a work of art, with every plate meticulously arranged, showcasing the chef's creativity and skill.

I love their food. There are many dishes that are great taste, hearty portion and good flavored, not to salty. They open at 10am to 6pm last order at 5:30pm so it's hard to dine in for dinner so come early. The owner lady serves food and refill banchan when asked. She's pretty pleasant. The restaurant is plain but has homey feeling where Koreans of every age come along with many different race trying newfound flavor. Many do to - go orders so sometimes it gets busy. I recommend it.

Jokkbal
Andrew K.

The menu reflects a deep commitment to offering simple, traditional Korean comfort foods such as bone marrow soup, rice porridge, dumpling soup, pork bossam and kimchi stew. A solid, recommended spot for a Hanguk soup house in Norwalk. I would be remiss, however, if I would suggest first trying anything other than their specialties. Patrons who frequent Korean beer pubs are very familiar with two of their most popular dishes jokkbal (pig trotter) and soondae (Korean-style blood sausages). Go Hyang Jib just happens to make some of the tastiest of both. Delicious, plentiful and very reasonably priced: the best deals on jokkbal and soondae in town.

Steamed Beef Dumplings!
Eunhae H.

I just love this place. It has "Mom," "Mom," "Mom" written all over it. I've been coming to this mom-and-pop restaurant for over a decade now and I still did not write a review. Reason? I just don't know how to make tangible in writing the taste associated with the memories that each dish emanates. Bottom line: Amazing authentic Korean traditional food!! Following is a list of dishes that I have had and recommend (they are not in a particular hierarchical order per se): 1) Steamed Beef Dumplings: great appetizer (can be filling and be an entrée of its own) not only is each dumpling packed with beef and stuffings, the skin/texture of these dumplings is amazing as well; 2) Dumpling Soup with Ricecake: one of the best dumpling soups, and their ricecakes are kneaded from scratch; 3) Korean Thick Noodles with Seafood: great hot soup noodle for any weather; noodles again pulled and cut from scratch; 4) Cold Radish Noodles: the cold soup is very refreshing with a tang/zing flavor from the fermented radish; a favorite for the warmer/hot weathers; pairs very well with a BBQ dish; 5) Korean Pork Belly Wraps: broiled pork belly that comes with (red) radish kimchi, fermented Napa cabbage, seasoned raw oysters, and their homemade bean paste dip; 6) Bulgogi or Spicy Pan-Fried Pork: comes with fresh (romaine) lettuce and housemade bean paste dip; 7) Ripened Kimchi with Cod: (large in quantity - hence on the more expensive side) cod in a red (not too spicy) concoction of long kimchi strips; recommend to wrap the cod meat with one of the kimchi strips (hands may be necessarily to wrap the long strips around the meat - tastes even better that way too, in my opinion!) Of course, all other dishes on their menu are delicious and classic as well (e.g. Dohl Sot Bibimbap, Oxtail Bone Marrow Soup); however, I keep coming back for those top 7 items. Always coming back, to-going, and using delivery services app to get these nostalgic cuisines!

Really good homestyle Korean food. They also sell side dishes and kimchi. Hubby ordered soondae guk and I got the doh toh ree bibim gook soo. Sweet, spicy and perfect for a hot day. I ordered the combo with the bul gogi. Great combo. Their menu is pretty large so there are a lot of options. I want to try so many dishes because the food seems home cooked.

We had families visit and some were craving Korean dishes. Checked Yelp and located this restaurant that wasn't far away. It was our first time and the photos of several dishes looked appealing. But the consensus was that it was mediocre and left a so-so impression based on the items we've tried: Bossam (Korean boiled pork wrap): the pork was alright, but the lettuce wrap and ssamjang didn't taste fresh; something was off, like if it had been made and kept in the fridge for some time. I understand the business may have been slow and a lower turnover with their condiments but it left a bad impression. The soondae (blood sausage) was just ok, nothing special. I don't know if the restaurant specializes in any dishes, but it does offer a variety of Korean dishes. A good place to visit to try some, but it was pretty ordinary and wouldn't be a restaurant I would particularly recommend when someone asks. Overall, 3.5 stars.

6. Korean Style Pork Slices ()
Lilian B.

First time here! The place requires you to wear your mask until food comes out, I think thats okay. Water is self-service and you need to order first, pay and then have a sit. The parking lot is big but it gets busy because there are many restaurants in the plaza. When you crave true and traditional Korean food, this is the place. There are many Korean restaurants that call out they are it but no... this place is it!!

Spicy pork, easily feeds 2 -comes with sides, rice, lettuce wrap.
Pat C.

If you have a friend or coworker that you want to expose to Korean food, this is not the place you want to go. You can smell the fermentation poppin off in this joint a mile away. This is authentic, unsweetened, fermentation-heavy, countryside fair that Koreans and enthusiast alike appreciate: in our, current era of "fusion bistros" that dominates much of the ethnic food space in metro LA County, places like these are what make living here worth it. *tip- most items are priced between $12-$20 but are family style, thereby if you order 2 items you can likely feed 3 reasonably sized human beings ( ie we ordered spicy pork and ox tail stew and the combination of the two items were 3 portions)* Not for the faint hearted, nevertheless delicious, authentic Korean Restaurant. 5 stars

Honestly, it's basically…read morethe same broth, the king version just loads it up with brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs, so think of it as a fully stacked boat noodle. The broth is the star here. It's rich, flavorful, slightly sweet with a tangy kick, pretty sure there's some tangerine going on in there. Just a heads up, even "mild spicy level" has a noticeable heat, so if you're sensitive to spice, don't try to be brave... go no spice. The meats were surprisingly good, tender, not chewy, which is where a lot of places mess up. Noodles came out hot, no complaints there. We also got mango sticky rice and this is where they really sealed the deal. Mango was perfectly in season, juicy, sweet, not that sad sour off-season stuff. Sticky rice was soft and actually tasted like it was made fresh, not reheated from yesterday. Waitress was attentive and nice. Place itself is small, clean, modern, very mom-and-pop but done right, not rundown. I will definitely come back.

It's tucked in a small strip mall with limited parking. The inside is very small, but cozy, clean, and has a warm mom and pop feel to it. The menu is pretty big with lots of options to choose from. _Chicken Satay ($11.59) Strips of chicken charcoal broiled. Served with peanut sauce and cucumber chutney. Always a must try. This was probably one of the most well cooked and seasoned satay. Very moist and well flavored. The peanut sauce was spot on and the vinegar sweet chutney is a perfect balance and adds a nice crunch texture. _Tom Kha Fish Noodle Soup ($14.99) Rice noodles with fresh fish filet, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes, galangal, kaffir lime, leaves in coconut milk spicy & sour soup. I would grow up having Tom Kha soup with my dad but was surprised as I've never seen fish kha in a noodle soup. I've had lots of Tom Kha and this is one of the top 3 I've had. The perfect amount of spices and aromas. Not too acidic or watery, and the right amount of sweetness. The fish was soft and had a good amount. The noodles were glass noodles, which was nice but I will say towards the end, the noodle soaks a lot of the broth. I would probably switch out for a different type of noodle next time. _Spicy Fried Rice ($13.79) Stir-fried with green beans, bell pepper, basil and your choice of chicken, pork or tofu. My bf ordered this and he did ask for medium but it was not really spicy (and that's coming from me, someone who really can't do spicy) Second time he ordered it mild and he said it was better and it did pack a bit more of a punch. I do appreciate that the rice was well seasoned and not too oily or buttery. _Orange Chicken ($13.79) Chicken breaded stir fried with Orange sauce. We have been on an orange chicken kick and compare to our favorite at Northern Cafe. We were pleasantly surprised, that this actually knocked it out. To be fair, its very different. I'm used to orange chicken being very sweet and heavy on sauce. This was more of a light sauce that had a tangerine flavor profile, so not overpowering, but still tasting the chicken with the sweetness being the enhancement instead of the main component. _Yen Ta Fo ($14.99) Pink rice noodles with special red soup, shrimp, squid, fish-balls, fish cake, imitation crab stick, tofu, white fungus & vegetables. I first saw this, when my gf, whom is Thai ordered it and I was intrigued as it was a dish I have never seen. I tried a bit and was a fan so when I saw they had it, I had to try their version. The soup was the perfect balance of sweet and sour (and I generally don't like sour), a bit acidic but also had a subtle light and refreshing taste to it. The white fungus had a nice chew to it, but more texture than taste. Safe to say we have found our new favorite Thai restaurant. We came here twice, and both times service is always very inviting and kind. Price is very fair for the quality and quantity.

Not sure what's in the sauce, but it's sweet, tangy, and delicious! It's also topped with fried onion, cilantro, cucumber, and parmesan cheese. Also a winner! For entrees, we got the Chicken Pho and the Pho Ribeye. For the chicken Pho, you can get it with thigh or breast meat. I got it with breast meat, and they gave a good amount of meat!
