This place is super legit. Cozy, warm, and funky. Definitely a place locals will adore. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. We tried the brisket sandwich, the classic burger, sweet potato fries, and the gnarlys wings. All we're amazing. The sandwiches were served on soft potato buns, meaty, flavorful and moreish. The fries were seasoned to perfection, hot, crispy on the outside, soft and sweet in the middle. The wings... were double fried. I've gotten food from here ~3 times. First time was in-store, food took a while but it was tasty. 2nd time I just ordered sweet potato fries to take home and mope with. 3rd time was just now and it was unsatisfactory! I called in to order and was told it would be 15 minutes. Then 50 minutes pass and I hear nothing, so I call again. The employee told me that my food had been ready but they had forgotten to call me. I went right away and was hinting really hard about getting a refund in my greasy way, asking when the food had been ready (10-15 min ago, they said, which was still 20-25 min after it was supposed to have been ready). I also asked if it was still warm, if it was soggy, etc... They did not take the hint. The food was admittedly still good, warm and a little soggy. However I ate it too quickly to enjoy because my anger fueled my appetite. Also they messed up my order! I asked for a buttermilk chicken sandwich with spicy instead of regular mayo. For a neighborhood fast food place, Gnarly Eats rules. The buttermilk fried chicken sandwich is the bomb and the pulled pork is pretty good too. I've never tried the burger but my husband likes it. Fries and onion rings tend to be greasy but they're pretty tasty. Prices are reasonable and it's totally cute inside. I've never taken out, so I can't report on how well the food travels. My only "complaint" is there are only 3 tiny tables and a few counter stools, so eating in tends to be an option only at off hours. read more

Tried to get one hand rolled ice cream, was told they were doing a promotional two for one. Damn right I got two. The sweet and salty was delicious, but the triple chocolate was my favorite. Each ice cream dish is made to order, and all the ingredients are made in house. My only regret is having already eaten dinner. Their menu features burgers with Pat La Frieda blended beef, and homemade ingredients whenever possible. Love this place. A little hard to find but it's just a couple doors down from where Thistle Hill was. Super cute inside with some seating available to eat there. We took ours to go. Everything was packaged very well, tots stayed hot & crispy and the sandwiches were sent unassembled so they were perfect when we got home. We had the fried chicken and pulled pork, both excellent. What a great neighborhood spot! Stopped by here for dinner on a windy cold Saturday night and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing food and service here. By recommendation from the lovely waitress Lisa, we ordered the Mac and cheese balls, wings, tarot tots, brisket Sammy and fried chicken Sammy. The mac and cheese balls were Devine but nothing beats the wings which were out of this world! Definitely get the brisket sandwich if you like hearty rich meat which just the right flavors and tastes amazing! The chicken sandwhich is great too. This is one of those places where it's really hard to decide what you want to eat because everything sounds so good! I ended up choosing the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich. It was cooked perfectly, and the slaw gave it a great crunch. My husband really liked his classic burger as well. I also loved the fries. You can tell how freshly prepared everything is. The guy behind the counter couldn't have been nicer either. My only complaint is that I wish it had been a larger space. I'd say it's more of a to-go place, because it did feel a little cramped with our party of three. The food was amazing though, and I'm so glad I made it here while visiting town! read more

Found this place on our walk home and, to be honest, we're already excited to come back for the burgers! We had the sweet and salty and the triple chocolate rolled ice cream and they were both ~AMAZING~!!! Everything is made fresh on site (the whipped cream and caramel sauce are not to be missed) and the owners are super nice. The burgers look awesome and I can't wait to go back and sample some of those. Most amazing chicken sandwich, we ordered the buttermilk fried chicken and Mac n cheese popper. The chicken was fried to perfection with a big kick of spice made by in house and the pickled slaw was amazing fresh and delicious. Juicy and cook to perfection. Visiting the city from SE Texas and was looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat. Searched for places close to my location and Gnarly Eats was close. It's a small place with very limited seating. The food was great! I got the corn dog and tater tots. The corn dog was hand battered and the quality of the hot dog was very good! The tater tots were great also. The other guest ordered the Guns and Roses salad and it was great! If I stay here again, I will definitely eat there again. read more

The gnarly eats burger was layered with juicy patty, runny egg, crispy bacon and their homemade pickled cabbage. The burger was layered so well and intact. Burger was a good size, extremely reasonable price. And I forgot to mention they use potato bun for the burger, which was a big plus. I would give this place a negative star if I could. I can not stress how bad the customer service is. Ordered our food on yelp and was confirmed to be picked up 20 minutes after. Our food came out an hour and 15 minutes after ordering. While asking when our order was coming out, the person (long black hair, dark makeup) taking orders insisted that it was coming next -- obviously lied. After our food FINALLY CAME, I asked why it took so long and she said "I have no idea" and disappeared to the back. No apology or an explanation. A customer does not want to hear, "I have no idea," AFTER WAITING OVER AN HOUR for food. Also, she was incredibly rude to everyone walking in. She didn't greet anyone and seemed to be avoiding talk by hiding in the back. Absolutely incompetent. I'm surprised no one has addressed this problem. It is unbelievable. Definitely would never come back. --UPDATE-- After absolute no reassurance, I just opened up my food and my buttermilk chicken patty is burnt to a point where you can't even realize it's a patty. AND my loaded fries were COLD. Thanks long black hair with dark make up girl and Gnarly Eats. You have all disappointed me. Her attitude was already unpleasing for me to see and I almost lost appetite. But after opening up my patty, I couldn't be more disappointed as my appetite was officially ruined and done for. Just went to this place with my brother. We were looking for a place that served comfort food. Its a real tiny place and kind of easy not to notice because they don't have a sign outside. Before I walked inside I just kind of had a feeling that I was going to like this place. Boy was I right. This place really knocked it out of the ballpark. The food was excellent. Everything that we were looking for and more. We shared the chicken wings that were Asian style marinated in some kind of soy sauce I believe . They were absolutely delicious. Then i had the pulled pork sandwich which was a fantastic sandwich. Not kidding one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I ever had. My brother had the brisket sandwich which was another hit. Forgot to mention the excellent jalapeño macaroni and cheese poppers. The service was excellent too. We were served by a very friendly and kind young lady who was very knowledgeable about the food. We really enjoyed our experience there today and will definitely be back to try the other food on the menu. Do yourself a favor folks and go check out this place. My bf and I just scarfed down take out from this place and it was sooooo good. I got the buttermilk fried chicken and my bf chose their Gnarly Eats burger. Best chk sandwich I've ever had. BF enjoyed his burger too, called it "special." The place is tiny and can only accommodate 3 or 4 sets of people at a time so I wouldn't eat there unless it was off-peak hours. The owner asked for honest feedback, so here ya go buddy, hope it helps: 1. Don't pressure your customers into giving you reviews mid-meal; it's unprofessional, and creates an awkward environment. 2. Food was ok, but didn't live up to the hype. The classic burger was probably the best(sour cabbage was a nice touch). The pulled pork sandwich had barely any of the cabbage, and overall flavor was lacking. Sweet potato fries were the worst part of the meal, as they were very bland. 3. Seating is awkward, as it's at the bar where people order, and also right in front of the cashier. I understand space is limited, but I think it could be arranged better. I would start by losing the three spots right in front. The cashier was sweet-and cute :) and I'm sure the owner meant well, but it's awkward being watched by the owner of a restaurant when you're trying to eat. Don't try so hard, and don't tell your customers that your "unborn children depend on reviews", even if it's a joke. Don't act desperate, it's a turn off. We've ordered delivery from here several times now! The burger is wonderful -- it's purple cabbage slaw makes it different compared to other neighborhood options. Famished, lost, and cold, my girl and I were looking around the park slope area in Brooklyn for some serious sustenance. After a quick type into yelp, we discovered a small, quant burger place called Gnarly Eats. We walked into a small yet intimate space surrounded by pop art and a row of Polaroid pictures with people smiling ear to ear. The homey aesthetic coupled with a super friendly owner only further reenforced the decision we made was the right one. The menu was stacked with mouth watering and tastebud tantalizing burger combinations featuring their daily prepared angus beef. While deciding our order, the owner of the place engaged us in a warm conversation which made us feel right at home. He asked us where we were from and how long we've been together. While he did hate on my home state of Connecticut (which I let slide), he made us laugh and took our order right away. Food was prompt, fresh, and ever so meaty. Not only did we get burgers but they were accompanied by some fried to perfection tater tots.
