I scheduled an appointment to have my air conditioner looked at since it wasn't working properly. I have always wanted to replace the whole heating/air conditioning system as it was REALLY old, but the estimates I received from other companies were way out of my budget. Marwan did an excellent job for us. Our 8-yr old, hard wired thermostat started intermittently going "dark" for periods as long as 12 hours and then mysteriously coming back on again. Saturday morning -- two days into a weeklong heatwave -- we were sure it was dead. I called GMC Heating and Air Conditioning at 8:00am on a SATURDAY. Marwan returned my call promptly, promised AND delivered service by 3:00pm the same day. After troubleshooting the issue, all signs pointed to a faulty thermostat. The correct voltage was coming in to our attic furnace, and the correct voltage was going to the thermostat. Marwan changed the thermostat with the new version of the same thermostat we've had all these years (he had several brands & styles on hand). Fifteen minutes after he left, the thermostat went dark again. I texted Marwan. He turned around and came back, immediately. Back up in the 103 degree attic again, he discovered that the circuit board was blown. He had to order the part, but promised he'd be back by 8:00am Monday. He left the new thermostat in place, and gave me back half of his fee to hold as a guarantee he would be back. Marwan was at our house Monday morning at 7:50am. Replaced the board; reinstalled our original thermostat (because it wasn't broken), and was on his way. He charged us a fair price, was prompt and KEPT HIS WORD! I contacted GMC to have my dryer vent cleaned and checked as my dryer wasn't venting properly. After having another company come, it was obvious the job wasn't done correctly. GMC came out the day I requested and I couldn't be more satisfied. Pretty much everything I was told by the other company was incorrect, including where my vent ran to! GMC came in, located the problem, cleaned out the vent, hooked my dryer back up, checked to make sure everything was good and that was that. I called GMC Heating&Air based on a referral from a neighbor. Marwan came out and looked at my AC unit outside and saw that the fan motor wasn't working properly. He quoted me a price for a new motor. But then advised me that he had a used motor from another job he did. It would save me almost $200, so I said absolutely. He did all the work switching out motors. Then when we thought all was good, the unit didn't work. Marwan told me he needed some time to get another part that he thought would fix everything. Nope. He tracked down the main issue, it was the actual compressor in the unit. To fix it, recharge it, and parts would be only a couple hundred cheaper than a whole new unit with a 5 yr warranty. So of course I went with that. Marwan came back same day hooked everything up even with me not home. Then came back the following morning to finish charging up the unit.
