This was my second time staying at the Glover Park Georgetown Hotel, mainly because of its perfect proximity to where I needed to be. Even though it's an older hotel, I have to say the rooms are impressively spacious. I had a king-size bed that was comfortable, and there was plenty of room to open my suitcases, along with a small foyer area, a closet, and a large mirror. The hotel is quite affordable and offers good service. They kindly held my suitcase and carry-on bag so I could walk around for the day before checking in later in the afternoon. While breakfast isn't included, the on-site restaurant Divino has an all-day menu with good options. I tried their coffee, and both the service and the drink itself were excellent ~ especially thanks to the friendly male bartender. Georgetown is such a beautiful area, and I loved exploring the local farmers market on Sunday. The hotel's location is also very convenient, with Whole Foods and CVS nearby for any last-minute necessities. Plus, it's only about a 15-20 minute drive to DCA Airport, which makes travel very easy. This hotel offers great value, comfort, and convenience. A solid 4-star rating feels well-deserved. read more

Although it's in the historic Georgetown area, the hotel by no means feels historic or luxurious. But it is in a great location, walking distance to serval stores, Whole Foods - CVS, nail salons, lots of restaurants etc. The rooms, eh. All hardwood & beds are comfy - view of Washington monument & some amazing homes w killer back yards. In a residential area and a half a block away from the restaurants & stores. We're in the 6th floor (total 7), you can hear people in the hall when trying to sleep. No extra pillow or blanket in the room, sliding door for small small bathroom. Tho room is pretty big, but design of room strange. Besides the bed, a desk/chair, tv & bureau- mini fridge underneath & 2 bedside tables. And then a random chair with lots of space - they could have easily added an extra table. - big windows that slide open a tiny bit, but nice to get fresh air. On one side of the bed my outlets didn't work -couldn't charge my phone but luckily there was an outlet behind the bed & could easily get to it . Convenient to the U.S. Naval Observatory, Vice President's Residence, and various embassies. This isn't the kind of hotel that I would re-book with. My expectation was maybe too high. Betw the thin walls, small elevators, having to wait for a luggage cart & most of all, pulling into the place & it's super small weird hotel/restaurant parking - too crowded. The hotel is located by Georgetown. The rates are reasonable (starting around $135). If you aren't driving, you will want an uber. Hotel parking is directly beside the hotel. The garage entrance is slightly hidden. The Enterprise car rental return sign is confusing. There should be a "Hotel parking" sign too. The hotel restaurant is a lovely Italian place. The spa is near the parking entrance. The bar is cozy and nice. Metro isn't convenient but you could take an uber or taxi to metro and save a fortune in parking. The web site offers 10-15% discounts if you book directly with the hotel. There aren't lots of staff. read more

We encourage people to look elsewhere for a place to stay. Why? First it is way at the top end of Georgetown and a long walk to the M&Wisconsin intersection or any decent restaurant. (The one in the hotel serves overpriced generic Italian.) Next, the front desk tried to give us a much lower level room and we had prepaid for and resisted when we pointed out the error and ask for our actual reserved level room. Elevators didn't work one day. Toilets clogged. They don't offer bottled water, slippers, bathrobe. Even the shower didn't have a full closing door!. The small round hand soap bar was no thicker than a slice of ham. Towels were small and scratchy. Didn't give us fresh hand towels on our 2nd night. Although mattresses were ok one of the bed frames was so loose it made loud irritating squeaking sounds anytime you moved in bed. read more

We checked in last weekend for 3 nights. We picked the hotel for its proximity to the Cathedral and Georgetown. As far as walkability, there are a handful of food options within a block or so...it was a short & nice walk to the Cathedral...and if not so darn hot, the mile down to Georgetown shopping would've been nice too. Our room felt like it was in need of some updating: some furniture pieces seemed beat up and old (whether old or not), bathroom same situation (partially updated but tiny and a bad grout situation), the paint on our walls was quite scuffed up and looked dirty around the door...unfortunately all these things can lend to a feeling of uncleanliness even if perfectly clean. The hallway to our room was stifling hot and humid for most of our stay. The beds, pillows, and linens, however, were very comfy. Honestly one of the most comfortable hotel beds I've slept in, and our room AC worked well. The location is ok, mostly residential surroundings. Very quiet from outside noise (at least on our side), but very loud from closing hallway room doors. They've got a lil "market" downstairs (a few shelves and a fridge) with snacks, and an on-site restaurant. From their restaurant I got take-out once and dined in once. Both meals were good, as was the service. Do yourself a favor and grab a very yummy chocolate chip cookie from the lobby. Service at the desk was friendly and professional at every encounter. But overall it was a fairly average stay with some definite highs and lows. read more

I am up at nearly two AM writing this review while still at the Glover Park Hotel. For the price of the room the very most basic request is quiet and comfort. The bed felt like padding on a piece of brick. I pulled the sheet up and found a VERY thin foam mattress with nothing but a hard base under it. They played music in their bar & grill downstairs until 11pm - which I could hear in my room on the 6th floor. It wasn't horrific but I would have rather slept before that time. There really isn't good soundproofing in the room. I could hear cars and trucks randomly waking me from outside and people slamming doors and making other noises in the hallway periodically. Sincerely hoping I'll be ready to be up by 6:30am and not be grumpy or headachy from the multiple interruptions in sleep and discomfort. read more

I had a very good service experience. Room was fairly large. I chose mainly for the location and price for a weekend trip with my daughter. Parking just for checkin was tight (small, crowded lot), and the underground parking requires care (but there was an EV charger or two). We had dinner in the restaurant, good food, service, and surprisingly decent prices. Excellent setting in the early evening. Coffee was bad and overpriced. Better off waking 5 mins to Einstein Bros up the street. read more

The worst hotel experience I've had. We arrived around 11:30pm after a long drive, and were greeted by extremely loud club music at the venue that shares the hotel parking lot. The noise persisted for another hour. The curtains and windows blocked neither sound nor light. read more

This used to be our favorite hotel when we travel to Georgetown / DC back when it was called the Kimpton Glover Hotel. The Location is Awesome! We actually chose to stay at this location because of the Gym! Probably the best Hotel gym I've been in. Now the Hotel is just called the Glover Park Hotel. When the Kimpton name came off the quality went down. It's over priced and the hotel is starting to look dated especially the Bathrooms. My wife and I stayed here March 31st 2023 - April 2nd 2023 April 1st there was no Hot water in the entire Hotel! (Cold Shower) April 2nd there was no water at all!! (No Showers) We got a refund for one of the nights but, we will not be going back to this property. The Price you pay And what you receive doesn't add up. In my opinion this is a 3star hotel Maybe 3.5star. read more

The room was nice but there was no alarm clock in the rooms, nor did the front desk make a wakeup call as we requested. There was delay in getting the room ready even though it was requested (and agreed) when reservation was made that it would be available earlier. I am very unhappy with my stay at the Glover Park Hotel-Georgetown. I was given a room with a barking dog next door, and I had trouble with the light switch. . It was very frustrating to be moved from a king-size bed city view room to a room with two double beds, and on top of that, I had trouble using the TV in the second room. The hotel tried to make things right by relocating me to a different room, but my overall experience was still unsatisfactory. The only positives are the hotel's Georgetown location and restaurant and bar on the property. These are two of the hotel's assets from my lens. I desire a more stellar hotel experience, therefore I plan to stay at a Marriott or Hilton hotel; these brands are known for their high-quality standards and customer service. read more

How in the world can this hotel consider itself a "boutique" hotel. That designation comes with some minimum standards which Glover Park doesn't meet. Here's a quick list of shortfalls: bathroom only slightly larger than an aircraft bathroom. Bath towels were like sandpaper. No water pressure and the cheapest shower head you can find. There was an empty tissue box holder minus tissues and none elsewhere in the room. Sheets resembled those you'd buy at Walmart to send your kid to sleep away camp. Housekeeping neglected to clean prior guests hair out of the shower and they were hairy. Cabinet door that enclosed the Fridge broken and hanging off. Lamps didn't work. Window shades didn't work. Closet door off the track. No plastic laundry bag. TV format was wrong setting. Big screen small picture and low res. No remote in room to fix that. They did fold the end of the toilet paper nicely and had some boutique hotel scent broadcasting out of the ventilation which was slightly over powering. Very expensive but totally not worth it. Avoid avoid avoid. Parking available means $45 per day charge. read more

I stay at Kimpton Hotels pretty often when traveling if I can get a good rate. The hotels are consistently good and I like all that I have visited. They all have pretty good restaurants and seem like they put effort into that. This is a tricky review. For the $79 I paid on Priceline this really should be 10 stars. It feels more like a $250 or more kinda place and I suspect it is "in season". This hotel is elegant but not fancy if that makes sense. Beds are amazing. Room was very nice. Restaurant was good for breakfast and lunch. The location in Gtown is incredible. I think I have always given a five to Kimpton. The reason this hotel didn't get the five is the front desk staff. As a group they don't seem to get they are in the hospitality business. Not all, but a few that were borderline rude. Just my opinion and maybe I just caught em on a bad day. Again it wasn't all, but a couple grumpy people can ruin a stay. Regardless, I would stay here again. read more

We've stayed here 3 times now. Middling hotel at premium hotel prices. There were a few times we came back to the room at the end of the day to find it uncleaned and unserviced. Called the front desk and was told to call them to have the room serviced. Ummm... Excuse me? So then we had to get someone in at 9pm while our kids were trying to fall asleep. Unacceptable. Rooms are clean enough although this last time the AC smelled of mildew and mold. They sent someone to change the filter. It was appreciated but at the price we pay for the rooms, the hotel should be catching that kind of thing. Same with the ice. An ice machine would be nice. Having to call the front desk and wait 10 minutes for ice is unacceptable. Same for a lamp that flickered. That sort of thing should be caught by staff. On the bright side the kitchens are nice and the rooms are toddler friendly. So while the hotel is clean and looks ok, they charge premium prices for budget service. read more

The Glover Park Hotel is different in all the best ways. Walking into the lobby, one is immediately met with an atmosphere of relaxed but chic, modern style. This is evidently not a cookie-cutter franchise property, and there is nothing generic about the space's adornments--complete with corn hole boards and bowls of Hershey's kisses for guests to enjoy. The exterior walls of the hotel are painted with organic patterns. At night, the whole facade is illuminated a vibrant hue of violet. My family and I stayed in a two queen guestroom and found it to be exceptionally spacious. There was more than enough room for us all to stretch out and relax. The beds were large and comfortable, and our third floor windows afforded a nice view of Embassy Row. What's more, every doorknob, countertop and nightstand of the place was perfectly clean. There were a few details that could use touching up (scuffed wall paint and cracks in the bathroom sink bowl), but these were minor and easily ignored. The hotel overlooks a busy street on which motorcades and fire engines often pass by. There is also a noisy open-air bar on the same block. Despite all this, my room was quiet enough for a restful night's sleep. I made use of the basement gym during my stay, which offers all sorts of exercise equipment from treadmills and ellipticals to weights and punching bags. Considering the amenities of the Glover Park Hotel, the nightly rate seems relatively modest--especially for this area. Every staff member with whom I interacted was helpful and friendly. It's also worth noting that, while there is no free breakfast here, an Einstein Bagel is within easy walking distance. For fancier fare, there is a sit-down restaurant in the lobby. I would definitely stay here again, and look forward to returning after construction on the new rooftop terrace is complete. read more

Disappointed. 1. Musty rooms and even switched rooms once 2. Poor overall customer service with attitude- could probably use more than one person on front desk. 3. Pulled up to check in - not a lot of room like most cities but enough that people can easily get around. But taxi driver who wanted to be where we were briefly parked to check in, very rudely harassed me while laying on his horn until we moved. Where was valet? Was told they had one ‍. 4. Connectivity to WiFi is shoddy to nonexistent. Asked for assistance and the best we got was intermittent connectivity. Big problem for those trying to work. 5. Prior to arriving requested room with two queens rather than one king - told no rooms available - so after check in went online and saw two queen availability online - so called front desk again where she again told me no rooms- until I told her I could book one online- then she changed her answer. Really? 6. Condensation in windows in both rooms and rooms felt damp and sticky. 6. Spa was all but shut down - no one informed us in advance 7. Elevators breaking and slow - Waited 15 minutes for elevator at one point. 8. Bathrooms could use some work and/or upgrade and maybe some grout? ‍ 9. Parking available=$45/day and no valet. 10. The conditioner in bathroom - came out like watery yet curdled milk - was very very gross. 11. Hairs on shower wall - not ours. 12. Pulled shade down and looked like it had been shredded by a cat. So much for keeping the light out. 23. Showerhead needs replaced - sputters out water 24. Did I mention internet connectivity sucks 25. Rooms with connected doors - both of ours were - thin - abt a 1 inch gap bottom of door - you could peek into you other room if wanted. Put towel down to cover gap. Zero sound barrier. Do not get rooms with connecting doors unless it's your peeps staying in the other one. 26. The Gloverpark Grill has live music on Friday nights - great - love live music and the band sounds great - the problem is when you are not told that and given a room where it sounds like they are in your room. Not okay. They should tell people- this happens on Fridays and allow them an option. Not enjoyable when you need to wake up at 5 am. Will not stay here again. For what we paid - thoroughly disappointed. Whomever the manager is - needs to do a thorough walk about the place- smh - shoddy all around for the cost. read more

We were visiting our daughter and son-in-law this past weekend who live 5 minutes from this hotel and they recommended it. We booked it in the morning and checked in around 7 that night. Gentleman at the Front desk was as professional and friendly as one could be and when he looked at my full size pick up truck and opined it would not fit in the garage, he gave me front of the house parking which was the bonus of the day! Room was exceptionally clean, bed was terrific and comfortable and hotel is super quiet for a city location. Woman at the Front Desk the next morning was equally pleasant - they have great people working there. Thought a $119 Saturday night room rate plus $35 parking fee was certainly reasonable for location and amenities - $178 out the door with taxes. Hotel stay: 4/5 The hotel was nice and the stay was pleasant. The soaps and shampoo and conditioner had a variety of scents which were exciting. I appreciated that there was a large bottle each of shampoo and conditioner, since this is more realistic to work with for curly and long hair. Some downsides were that there weren't many TV channels, and the electrical outlets in my room were iffy. Cafe: 2/5 Very limited options, and was not free with the stay. Also, of the options they did have, many were out of stock when I tried to order them. The bagel I ended up ordering was alright, as was the cappuccino. The ambiance was nice though, with lights and very warm heat lamps which were greatly appreciated. The overall experience was good but I would have expected better for the price, so the overall rating is 3/5. read more

I like the Kimpton brand as they pair a hip boutique hotel with an upscale restaurant. The Glover Park is no exception, featuring a fine Italian restaurant, Casolare, on the ground floor. I stayed in a corner room, 205, overlooking the Wisconsin Avenue entrance below. It was modern, spacious, and clean. I particularly liked the bed. The mattress was the right balance between firm and soft, and the pillows felt luxurious. I didn't experience any noise problems reported in other reviews. My room was quiet and relaxing. read more

I stayed this past Monday night for one night as I was in town briefly. Nice location in Upper Georgetown. Got a really reasonable rate. It's a nice Kimpton property. BUT, I got bed bugs and it MUST be from this hotel. I was wearing pants all day everywhere. Took a little nap once under the covers without pants and then the sleeping overnight. There is no other explanation for my 8 bites or so. Be warned!! read more

All in all my stay at the hotel was good. I will say that the lobby and hallways are significantly more updated than the hotel rooms. The hotel rooms felt like a vacillation between a modern style with prices from the 80s and the bathrooms need an entire update. Upscale hotel in a prime location. You can walk down the block to several casual restaurants and are a short drive to Georgetown, Capital Mall, Smithsonian, memorials and other sites. The lobby has modern furnishings and feels more like a residence than hotel, with coffee table books to peruse. There are also a selection of newspapers available each day. In the morning there is a lovely coffee and tea station with extras like flavored syrups. There was construction going on in what will be a business center. If you have a car, parking is extra and must be done by the valet. The front desk staff are gracious and helpful. I had my hands full as I was entering the elevator. For security, you have to insert your room key before pressing the button for your floor. The woman behind the desk saw me juggling my packages, two coffees and key and just appeared to activate and push the button for my floor. It was a small thing, but an example of the staff being aware and anticipating needs. The rooms are also modern and comfortable, although the bathroom shower seemed narrow. The room had all of the extra amenities you expect; blow dryer, safe, and a very nice selection of snacks in the mini bar. A very nice hotel. read more

I stayed here in January of this year, and it was my first time staying at a kimpton. I've always wanted to stay at the kimpton due to its super cute decor, the updated rooms, and how every hotel sticks to a certain theme. It helps that the have free wine during happy hour in the lobby. The rooms were very spacious, the neighborhood is super cute. Very walkable. They have a lot of shops, cafes, restaurants in the area. I got a great deal to stay here and i hope to find another deal so i can stay here again. Loved it!! read more

I stayed here while in DC on the tail end of a business trip. I am so glad I ended up booking this for 2 nights versus the 1 night we were originally planning. The room had amazing views of the city was clean and had an amazingly comfortable bed! I loved the decor and how much natural light the rooms got. When we checked in we had just missed the 5 o'clock wine hour but they offered us a glass to take back to our room which was a perfect welcome to relax after a long day of work and travel. They have infused water in the lobby and tea and coffee in the morning. The iced coffee was perfect on a hot day and really hit the spot. They don't have complimentary breakfast but you can buy it at their restaurant. It's a bit further from the metro which is a bit of a shame. I would absolutely stay here again when in the area. read more

For a quick night in D.C. at the end our trip, I looked for reasonably priced accommodations near American University. As a Kimpton Karma member, this was an easy choice, and while our visit wasn't perfect, it was solidly good. The room was modern, lovely, clean, and spacious. Our check-in was a breeze, but our check-out was painfully long. Breakfast is not included, but we bypassed the on-site restaurant option and took the staff's advice by grabbing breakfast sandwiches and bagels from Bruegger's Bagels just a few minutes away by foot. We didn't have a car, in part because I hate paying for parking in the city, so we relied on the complimentary shuttle and used it multiple times to and from American University. Anthony was a delight, but you need to be a bit flexible with your schedule. No issues with our bill and they accommodated my room requests, so all in all a nice visit. read more

At the hotel's southern Italian restaurant, I made a light lunch of a small arugola salad and an appetizer of 4 meatballs in sauce and dollop of ricotta, each in a small shallow bowl to allow for easy picking while working on my laptop. This place is like staying at a haunted house...a loud one. Every 3rd morning a loud truck would come and pump something in or out of the hotel, loudly, right under my window. It made the whole room shake and hum. Doors constantly slammed by housekeepers. No room service menu in the room, had to Google the restaurant and check food choices online. The carpet was slightly moist across the entire room. I know I did not spill anything. I can't imagine what was making it moist... but gross. I had to wear my shoes in the room the whole time. Housekeeping did not change the sheets one time when they made up the bed. Huh? Key cards constantly don't work..needed new ones made 3 times. It was impossible to keep the room at a constant temp, broken thermostat? The room smelled horribly! The bedside table was only big enough to fit the lamp, nothing else! WiFi was weak, I called an 800# (not an onsite maintenance engineer, strike 1), they told me to move closer to the door (strike 2), then they asked me what laptop I use and I said Mac, and they said, "oh yeah, Mac's are known to have WiFi problems". (steeerike 3!). I have used my Mac at hundreds of hotels and gotten on their WiFi just fine at decent to high speeds...for some reason at this hotel Mac has problems? Had I said Windows they would have had the same answer! The person that I spoke to seemed trained in giving nonsensical answers to get people off of the phone. All the bathroom caulking is bad, worn, dirty, cracked. They called on the incredibly loud bat phone in the room and woke me up, daily, to ask if I wanted the room made up when I had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. Why would I have the sign out if I wanted the room made up? Why would I want to be woken up during a well deserved nap? I had to take the phone off the hook. When we checked out we had called the front desk to pull the car around. The front desk never told the valet. We sat there and talked to one of the valets for 10 minutes before we realized nobody ever told him to pull our car up. Unbelievable. The front desk staff couldn't be more bored and miserable to be in their jobs. This place needs to be bulldozed. Location is good, valet was fast, food from the room service restaurant was good. But overall I'd rather stay in a morgue...it would be more quiet, and likely a more pleasant stay. It was the most horrible waste of money I've ever spent on a hotel in my four decades of staying in hotels. Just a gross waste of money. I would've rather flushed thousands of dollars down the toilet and stayed in a park like a bum. read more

While missing some basic elements like nightstands and amenities (pool, a half decent breakfast, a front entrance that isn't still under construction, etc) they make up for it with their service which was 5 star all the way, very friendly, even letting us have wine after their wine hour was over! As for what they did have we really enjoyed the beds and the renovation gives the lobby and first floor area a great new look which is very trendy. read more

I often wish I could give rating based on each category of a hotel so I will try my best here. Staff: 5 stars!!! Just perfect. Mitch and Oscar/Osiris were so fantastic at wine hour. The lady at the front desk (sorry I can't remember her name) printed out some documents for me because there is currently no business center. And the doorman/valet guy was super friendly. Room: 3.5 to 4 stars. Really beautiful and spacious rooms but some details were missed. There were some stains on the back side of the curtains that looked like they could have been either bbq sauce or gosh only knows what other non-food item. I cringe at the thought. Bathroom is TINY with low ceilings and seemed like it was somewhat left out when the rest of the room was renovated. Also, there was a bottle cap left in the bathroom from the previous guest. The lobby was gorgeous, as the Kimpton lobbies usually are. Hotel location was perfect for what I needed, being close to the Omni for a conference I was attending, plus some good restaurants just a block away. read more

Let's start at my check in Sunday night. Got to my room and noticed you can hear the traffic on the main road clear as day! I had some running around to do. I also had my son that was recovering from being very sick,he goes to college a mile away. One of the reasons I picked this hotel was the shuttle was convenient getting him to class. So I settled into my not so clean room hearing the dog in the next room bark occasionally and a couple talking very loud room 321. I went to CVS to get Clorox wipes to clean some stuff down icky! Trying to sleep I was itchy my son was tossing around itchy the man in the next room was screaming, coughing, moaning,and vomiting all night! I called the front desk sounded like this guy was in my room dying with his dog barking and wife saying "want me to help" itching all night so gross!! I got switched to a different room 518 much better! I asked the guy to make sure my stay was until Wednesday I felt like he wasn't paying attention. Well ...I was right Tuesday I woke up to bring my son to his classes and they said I had to check out. They overbook !! I got bumped ! Had to grab all my stuff in a mad rush and bring it to my son's dorm. I don't recommend this hotel I'm not sure but I think they do have some sort of bugs and their customer care is horrible! I forgot to mention the air-conditioning was broken in the first room and it was extremely hot! They gave me a big $25 credit for a charge they add to the room for customer care or something. I am here now, still staying in this dump. And it truly is. Forget the location. This property is tired, uncared for and poorly staffed. I have been here exactly two hours. I have had 8 keys, that did not work, only to finally have to get the front desk person up here to see for himself. The lock is not working, period. The engineer came and had no clue how to fix it. In fact, whatever he did has made it even worse. The Wi-Fi is non existent. It is also unsecure so basically it is not provided here no matter what they say. They have a secure network but it is not for anyone actually paying the bills here. The parking is a complete disaster. Does not exist. It is a storage facility under the building that looks like a pig sty. Several of the electrical outlets in our room absolutely do not work. I fully expect all the lights to go off in about 10 minutes. This place should close. You should not stay here. If I can check out tomorrow and find another place, I will. read more

I stayed here for two days and immediately, I was greeted by a rude employee, Joel. This man was incredibly rude to me and gave me incorrect information about the hotel along with locations. Additionally, every time I went to the service desk, he gave me sarcasm and attitude. However, he treated an older man ahead of me with respect and kindness while me, a young adult, was treated with so much disrespect.
