Five stars for the pepperoni roll alone! A roll filled with cheese and pepperoni. Imagine one of the best dinner rolls you have ever had and it's the size of a shoe. Was expecting it to be a little dry but it was perfectly edible without a drink. Have to thank my sister for this one. She said she used to eat them all the time when she was in high school and when she came back to VA for a visit she picked me up one. Heaven. Glory's is a fairly small bakery/shop. They sell Asian specialties and offer Filipino food for a decent price. My boyfriend ordered the pepperoni bread combo which is $5.99 for a pepperoni bread and 4 lumpia as well as an empanada. I'm not a fan of pepperoni bread but my boyfriend is and he was not that impressed with the quality. On the other hand, the lumpia was fresh and crispy. We both loveeee empanadas so we were really excited to try Glory's version. Unfortunately, we were extremely underwhelmed. We are both used to the traditional Filipino filling with ground meat, potatoes, carrots, and peas but Glory's version came stuffed with what seemed like taco-flavored ground meat and nacho cheese. It was not a good flavor at all and we didn't even finish it. Service was slow-- it took someone 5 minutes to come from the back even though there was absolutely nobody in the store.On top of that, she seemed very annoyed that we showed up.... The food was great, so we'll set that aside. I came in and waited for 10 minutes with no one up front. Rang the bell twice with no luck. I work retail and I understand. When an older lady came up front, I politely asked for 1 pepperoni bread. I handed her my card and she gave me a look like I was foreign and then shot her eyes up the sign. It read there is a minimum fee of $5 for credit cards. She said afterwards "next time, you know." Well, I won't be back since I'm not from around there so okay. Poor customer service. Instead of looking down upon your customers as if they are special, try suggesting if they wanted to add a cookie or another order to satisfy the $5 minimum. It would not only be the appropriate way but also help sales...Don't just give them a dirty look and talk down to them as if they are 10.... read more

When I first heard there was a filipino bakery around with pandesal AND pancit, I was ecstatic- and I have yet to be let down! My new filipino favorite, their pepperoni bread, is to die for. A family in our church buys a basket full each sunday to have before the service, and if I'm ever thinking about sleeping in, it helps to remember that bread that awaits me (and the service, of course;). I go to Glory's as often as possible, its a small little shop but you can dine in if you want. They're friendly enough, always have freshly baked goods and lots to choose from, as well as some other fun asian favorites for sell in the dry foods and drinks section. I wanted to like this place, if anything just for the originality that it offers to the area, but I can honestly say I've had better. The pepperoni bread that everyone talks about is indeed a 5-star item- I have no complaints about that- it's delicious. I tried their lumpia and pancit. The lumpia was OK, but I think Totoy's version has more character, with better flavor and ingredients. The pancit wasn't that great- pretty boring really, but I will give them that the portion was large. A small is probably enough to feed 2 people, but who cares if the 2 people don't really want to eat it? I also want to point out that I went to the other location one time about 30 minutes before closing, and they said they were done cooking. Saw this place in the area while I was having dinner so I walked over. I was assaulted by a horrible smell that I originally thought was coming from the seafood store next door. I realized that the smell was coming from this shop. The food in the display cabinet looked really delicious but I couldn't get past the smell. We stopped by here Sunday around 2:30pm and the young gal that finally came out of the back was not to thrilled to be working on Sunday (that's the impression we got from her attitude). Had this place bookmarked for awhile so imagine how excited I was when we ended up here for lunch! As soon as we walked in we were enthralled by all the Filipino groceries so we browsed around before finally making our way to the baked goods and I knew I had to have a piece of pineapple ensamada. Now on to food, I ordered a combo number five which was pancit, lumpia and fried rice. The little one got pepperoni bread and wings and hubby chicken adobo with pepperoni bread and pancit. Everyone enjoyed their lunch including me but I was slightly disappointed with the lack of flavor from the lumpia as well as the fried rice but being that I'm used to them being home made I may be a little biased. I enjoyed the dipping sauce for the lumpia. I appreciated the atmosphere and I didn't feel rushed or as if I was being watched while we looked around at the groceries. There were daily specials and you can call ahead to order or sit in to eat. I wish there was some type of music playing so it wasn't so quiet but so far that's the only con I have. When first approaching glory's bakery I didn't know what to expect . It appears that the place has been there for years and could use some window cleaning, and update to the decor once you walk inside . However, looks can sure enough be deceiving as I walked in I saw a great spread of cookies, pepperoni rolls, different meat tools, and yummy pastries . The bakery also serves meals and combos, so whatever you're in the mood for you can almost get . My friend recommend the pepperoni roll and raved just how delicious it was . So after I got done looking at the small grocery section I walked up to the register . The door in the back was open and i got to peak at the bread machines and women in there kneading the dough making various treats . I was happy to see that just as I was peeking inside another lady sees me and comes to see what I'll like to purchase . I ask for the pepperoni roll . The roll is $3.99, but after tax's comes to $4.41 which I had no problem with . Because when sh gave me the roll on the paper bag it was quite dense and I knew it was going to be delicious . I couldn't wait as soon as I got into my car the roll looked super delicious . It was a size buff enough to serve two and was really warm . The bread was just enough sweet as well as savory . And when you bite into the roll the cheese just oozes out and you catch a mouthful of pepperoni . It was a pretty experience as well as delicious meal. I was disappointed in the food there. The pepperoni bread was good but that was the only thing. The cookies were hard and tasted old, the lumpia was mostly wrapping with very little filling and tha pancit was tasteless. I was expecting so much more but only wasted my money. read more

Amazing food and service from a very sweet couple who have been in business for nearly 30 years!

Ordered shrimp pancit for 30 to 60 people and a large order of lumpia for a family reunion. Food was ready at the date/time requested. Lumpia was a hit as usual. Pancit was an expensive bust...in, fact the shrimp was going bad, had a bleached flavor and 80% went into the trash. Only saving grace was the shrimp and vegetables were only on the top and the noodles were edible. Will not order from Glory's Bakery again...what a shame. read more

I was in desperate need of a bakery. I'm fro NY where bakeries are prevalent. I walked in and could not bring myself to purchase anything. Not only was I the only customer in the restaurant but the items didn't appear fresh. I looked through the case for something to purchase and a female employee just stood and stared. Why does Glory's Bakery charged the customer for the box where they put the Pepperoni bread I could understand if it's just one pepperoni bread but for a DOZEN they should be putting it in a box specially if it's freshly baked. I've grown up visiting this area, since I was originally born here. Every year, Glory's Bakery is a must on my list of places to re-visit for their dinner rolls alone. They're unexplainably fluffy and soft on the inside, but hold a delicate crispiness on the outside. They're just a tad sweet, but are also perfect alongside savory meals. The ladies running the bakery are sweet and helpful, and are very efficient in getting the job done. For freshly-baked rolls, I've never waited longer than 5 minutes. They have a myriad of sweets and other foods, but I've honestly only ever had the dinner rolls and pizza rolls (large rolls filled with cheese and pepperoni), and I'm always more than satisfied with those. If you're in the area, I fully recommend coming to purchase a dozen (or four) of the dinner rolls and be prepared to fall in love with the perfection that are Glory's rolls. read more

I stopped in here for lunch after getting my hair done at the nearby Rudy and Kelly salon and I left with a ruined appetite. The first thing I saw when I entered was a variety of dented cans and some seasonings. Upon ordering the chicken adobo with rice, I waited nearly fifteen minutes in a mostly empty restaurant to receive cold chicken and a tiny portion of rice. Glory's Bakery is like part of our family, we get their Pandesal rolls for each major holiday and even birthdays. The original owner still works in the kitchen i think, so thats awesome. I must say, that i recently tried the ENSEMADA rolls a while ago, and i was hooked , the bread is like soft, like crispy creme donut, like almost, but thicker, but moist and just fresh. And its sprinkled with sugar and other stuff. Just go there and ask them about it, theres the normal sweet kind and then theres the one they add pineapple to. Ensemada is amazing! When i was a little kid, i loved the pepperoni bread, its good stuff, especially with the dipping sauce on the side. People talk about it a lot, but its not the only thing they sell thats good at Glory's! I buy my empanadas [pork/cumin crescent rolls of yumminess] for my daily breakfast and my meat rolls [pork, pork bbq, chicken, or beef] for a quick doughy snack. My and my friends' parties usually have a contingent of pre-ordered, cooked lumpia from Glory's as an appetizer. But the true, true treasure of Glory's lies not in the glass counters of cookies, brownies, and turnovers. It's the yummy, yummy, ohmygoodness Pepperoni Bread. Not really what you think a "bread" would be, think of it as an extra-large, extra doughy pepperoni and mozzarella Hot Pocket. The regular kind is a bestseller, but I love the green peppers, mushrooms, and onion version, which is stuffed inside the regular pepperoni bread with a little bit of marinara sauce. They also have a supreme version, which has all the above mentioned veggies along with ham, bacon, and sweet peppers [I think]. In addition to its bakery operations, Glory's has a small Asian grocery area along with several tables and chairs for patrons wishing to dine-in. They also have traditional Filipino dishes ready to order if you wish to take out [or dine in] including pancit and adobo. So, so glad it's right around the corner from my house. Who could resist grabbing a baker's dozen of pandesai to bring home to eat with your evening meal? Tip - always order the rolls from the kitchen and not purchase the ready-made rolls on the shelf. I have been coming to this place for years and it's been declining, close to 20 years I have been coming here, ordered pancid and fried rice. I normally always take my orders to go but today I was hungry so decided to eat in. I ate a forkfull of rice that was ice cold. It is 230pm there is no reason this food should have been this cold. I take it back and ask for fresh food and the lady says it is fresh and I'm like when was it fresh? Not now? So she automatically gives me a refund, which I should have taken because alls the lady was take that same food in the back and put it in the microwave...and it still wasn't warm enough....and then the lady had the nerve to have an attitude when she brought ot back out....but there are plenty of better places to get pancid and lumpia in this area, this will defiantly be my last time coming here....I suggest to stay away from this place read more

The pepperoni bread has been my favorite since I was a kid and now I bring my kids here to enjoy the treats. The siopao I had was really good. And of course you have to get a dozen pandesal. I've been going here over the past ten years and they have never disappointed me. It's not that big on the inside but if it's not too crowded you can sit at the tables and have your meal. There are times the place can get really packed, I've even seen a line almost out the door. They also offer different things you can cook at home, mainly noodles or spices. The staff is very friendly and patient. Never received bad service and they make sure your order is correct. I've ordered pizza bread, pancit, lumpia, beef bun, pastries, and pandesal bread. We used to get the rolls all the time for dinner until we decided to cut down on bread. They have other meal options that are decently priced with nice size portions.
