I was ready to…read moreask for a full refund but John stepped in and offered to redo the patio for free which is why I added a star- took weeks but it did get done. In the end, the project took 6 weeks. For a simple patio, a small dog run and a rock weed barrier. Lucy tried to sneak fees in and without my approval, had her workers rip out 2 of my bushes. After complaining, they replanted them days later but the plants did not survive. They also damaged my drip system (they did fix it after I brought to their attention) also, the workers left trash in the yard. John was kind and understanding but I will continue to tell my neighbors to stay away from them.

We met with Gary Holt after being "ghosted" by another landscape designer...which turned out to be…read morefortuitous! When he came, we walked him through what we wanted, which was quite a bit of work. He took that back and after a week or so provided us with a quote. In addition, we had some items as optional, pending our budget at the time of the project. After we approved and sent a small deposit, we scheduled a tentative start date, which was about 4 month out (during Covid days, everything takes longer). As we approached the date, I contacted Gary and he asked to push out a couple of weeks due to other projects taking longer than anticipated. That was fine with us...as mentioned, these things don't go so smoothly anymore! Anyway, after that short extra delay, the workers all arrived and work got started. The workers on the team were awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and detail oriented. Gary was often out there, checking up on stuff and making sure we were happy. As work progressed, we had a payment play in place and that's how we went. The worst part was the pergola we wanted was delayed, repeatedly. That's not Gary's fault. At the end, we agreed to order 3 similar ones and take the first one that arrived. It did, about 6 months after the rest of the work was done, but once it did, the team came and installed it and we couldn't be happier! Overall, we are truly enamored with our new backyard! It's our oasis and Hold Landscape Inc brought it into being. It did take patience...and like some people have mentioned, communication can sometimes not be that great, but based on my experience and other people's (who hired other landscapers), that's kind of the way it is. Regardless, Gary always got back to me.

Gary listened to my ideas for the brick patio and during the project he was very responsive to my questions and input. He was on site on a regular basis and anytime I needed him to come out. Randy did a fabulous job prepping the area, installing all the bricks, plants, drip and fountain. There was a problem area in another part of the yard that they landscaped as well. This was a large job and a ton of labor. The team was onsite as promised, on time and worked all day. Gary scheduled our daily start and end times appropriately. This helped with some of my neighbors who like to complain but that did not happen. Gary is a good project manager, is very talented, has a ton of experience and has a good team. Plus, he is a really personable and a nice person. We are very happy with our new courtyard and use it all the time. Than you Gary!

They came promptly to repair it and discovered an old irrigation pipe was not properly capped (work done by a different team who dug the trench). The team spent a few hours--at no charge--repairing. They turned off the water source, preventing any future problems, and re-laid the pavers once the repair was complete. It looks as good as new! We couldn't be happier with the response and quality from LR Landscaping & Pavers. Highly recommend them.

I called Lee to give us an estimate for a retaining wall that we are planning on having built. He…read morehappened to be in our area when I called, and was able to set a time just a few hours from when I called to come and have a look. He arrived right on time. He spent a long time discussing our project with us, and what he and his team could do. It was obvious he had a great deal of experience building retaining walls, and knew what had to be done, and how to do it. We happened to mention we needed to repair or replace our flagstone pathway. He doesn't do flagstone itself, but he did suggest a paver that looks just like random flagstones, but has several advantages compared to the real thing. At no time did we ever feel under any pressure to "choose him". He was simply professional, honest, and open with what he could do, and how it would be done. He sent us a detailed bid, breaking out the retaining wall and flagstone-like paver work separately, so we could do one, or both. His price for the retaining wall was in line with other estimates we'd gotten (and the paver pathway seemed reasonable, but we had no comparisons for that). In the end, we decided to go with a different contractor, who could do all the landscaping we are planning on. (Lee's company focuses on hardscapes only.) But if in the future we have a hardscape-only project, Lee will probably be our first call.
