Before I moved to Chicago, this was my nail spot! The pedicures are amaze-balls. They always do a super awesome job on your feet leaving the bottoms soft and the owner Tina, is fantastic. She knows me, my mom, and my sister. Any time I come in alone, she asks me about them and asks me how they're doing. They also do cute designs, and the polish lasts. The manis and acrylics are also some of the best. They last, and once I accidentally broke one like a day after I got them done, and she fixed it free of charge. What can I say? I cheated on my regular nail place, only because it was the holidays and my usual place is PACKED. So, after grabbing some cream puffs at Pho Than Brothers next door, I went to Glamour Nails on a whim. I got what I deserved for straying. This was right before new year's at 11am in the morning and the place was pretty dead. The nail tech was friendly enough, although if you don't speak Vietnamese, the conversation can be pretty one-sided (unless you're good at the nodding politely and laughing intermittently at what-you-have-no-idea type of thing). There is one slightly older lady who is fierce with the cuticles. She will push them as far back as Toledo, so *watch out*! The fixtures are a bit older and the nail color selection is quite tiny. For the same price (or even lower) you might find a better, similar place elsewhere. I wouldn't have gone to Glamour, had it not been for the convenience. read more

These ladies do the best work and are always welcoming and friendly. I've been a regular customer for about a year now with shellac mani and regular pedi every two weeks like clockwork. They've spoiled me so much I don't think I can go anywhere else! The manicures last so well I could probably go an additional week but I like it there so much i go anyway. I was also doing the coffin nail acrylics for several months and they were flawless. I was looking for a last minute place to get a mani/pedi and after researching places on Yelp, I decided upon this place since it was close by and received fairly okay reviews. I called to make sure I could get in, and they told me no problem and had my name down. Awesome! When I arrived, they seemed a bit surprised by my arrival and didn't seem to be expecting me. Not a problem as they got me right in and set up for my pedi. Things were going along nicely as I read my magazine, until the other lady came along for my mani. I had asked for Shellac since it was so reasonably priced, so they needed to use the UV machine to do this. The second lady awkwardly set up the UV machine on the arm of the chair I was sitting in and had to balance it as she began to work on my nails. Again, awkwardly. I didn't give it too much thought, until she started cutting away at my cuticles. She seemed to be spending too much time on each nail cutting way more than usual...and then she cut me. I started to question my decision on coming to this place, but just figured I would continue giving it a chance. When I had first arrived, I mentioned wanting some Christmas-y design on my fingernails. When the second lady informed me she was done with my mani, paint and all, I asked about the design. She told me no and they were going to do it on my toenails. I said I really wanted it on my fingernails and again I was told no. She said my fingernails were too small and it would be better on my toenails. Whatever. I went ahead and let them put the design on my toenails. But when they were done, it was some tropical looking flower and nothing about it said Christmas. At least it was on my toes and my socks and shoes would be covering it up. When all was said and done, I went to hand my credit card for payment. I was told they do not accept credit cards and would need to walk two blocks down to PCC to get cash. Had I known they didn't take cards (they could have informed me over the phone or upon my arrival), I would have been happy to ensure I either had cash or my checks to pay. After walking down to PCC and finding out they do not have a cash machine and I would need to purchase something to get cash or walk further down to another cash machine, I returned with my PCC purchase and cash to pay vowing I will never return. I noticed my finger was bleeding from where the second lady had cut me and asked if there was a Kleenex or the like to take care of it. The lady was nice to take care of it with a cotton ball and some rubbing alcohol. I left hoping I wouldn't get one of those scary diseases that you hear about in the news. I have read numerous times in the other reviews that you pay for what you get, but I completely ignored this warning. Please take this warning to heart that you really do PAY FOR WHAT YOU GET. read more

This place is the best. I've been here several times, and have enough experiences to say that their quality of work is excellent. Sohpia's shellac manicure lasts 3+ weeks, and pedicures even longer! Heads up: If you're on a time crunch, let them know when you need to leave. They're respectful of time if you ask. But they do tend to take longer than other places, but only because they're incredibly thorough. (they give you a neck massage when you get a manicure!) read more

April is absolutely amazing...the peppermint mask, hot stones, and several other treatments that go along with the incredible massage are fantastic (at a very minimal price!). No kidding: Mary's gel manicure lasted 3 weeks. Incredible...and this also comes with a great hand and neck massage. This place offered a choice of either a paraffin wax or mask as well as a hot stone massage as part of their signature pedicure. I'm sure that this place is wonderful if you're looking for a dip powder or other manicure! Though I went in for a fill for my acrylic nails and was slightly disappointed. I called three times and had immense trouble communicating my needs with the woman on the line and after a couple tries got a clear answer for whether or not they could do my acrylics. But when I went in I was told they were going to use dip powder rather than acrylic. My nails ended up a bit wonky and misshapen because she couldn't get the shape right with the powder, and the colors weren't exactly what I had envisioned based on the samples. Other than the final result of my "acrylics" it was fantastic service! I was provided warm tea and was able to relax while getting my nails done! read more

They do an excellent job here! My first shellac manicure lasted my whole vacation (almost 3 weeks) without chipping at all! Very nice service with friendly staff. Asked for dip powder with fake nails and they said they couldn't do the fake nails. Not sure why. Just ended up getting the dip powder in my regular nails. When the lady was using the sander to grind down my nails, she nicked my skin around my cuticle on almost every nail to the point of bleeding. They also charged me $0.50 more then I was originally told. Which is not a big deal but annoying. I will not be back. read more

I have my fav regular nail salon in renton but didn't have time to make the drive so I thought Id give a new place a try thats closer to home. I SHOULD HAVE WAITED! I called in for an appointment and asked if they had time to do a shellac fill was told yes to come in right away, only to come in and wait for 30 mins. Finally when the lady started on my nails she burned me a few times while filing down my nail beds! Also I asked her for almond shape that was super straight and squared at the edges. I don't like my nails being round on the edges but the lady kept making them round. I finally gave up and told her it was fine just so I can get out of there! It was so irritating when I would tell her something she would ignore what I asked and do something else, they kept talking in a different language probably about me! In the end yea my nails look okay but its very overpriced $35 for a shellac fill and My nail shape is not almond just narrow! I pay $35 when I get a new shellac set at my regular nail spot. Fantastic spot to get your nails done. I've been coming here for over a year. I was initially nervous to try it out, as it's right off of Aurora. However, I have continually been impressed with the quality of my nails and the length that both the Shellac and Dip have lasted. At other nail places I tried prior to this place my shellac would start lifting in the corners after about 2 weeks. With this place I have to come in to get it removed because it lasts so long! The owner is FANTASTIC and incredibly personable. I do agree with other reviews, speed is not a priority here. Nail service will easily take over an hour. Do not come here if you're in a rush! This place is great! They always do an awesome job and my Shellac stays on for almost 2-3 weeks which almost NEVER happens when I get my nails done at other salons. Even with an appointment I sometimes have to wait 5-10 minutes since the salon only has 3 nail stations and 4 pedicure chairs. O-- ptions of colors are limited U-- are better off elsewhere R-- ear parking is a plus My first visit went well. My second visit, I called and said I would be there in 10 min. They said no problem. They could take me. I get there and the manicurist had just started on a lady. I had to wait 30 minutes for a manicure. That's why I called! My third visit was the last straw. I called and made a 2pm appointment. Only two manicurists were working. One began on my pedicure. Then a couple came in wanting one pedicure and one manicure (same as me). The lady stopped my pedicure during an oil soak and started on the man's pedicure. Ughhh gross. Then the other lady started on the girls manicure. Did u not see me? Start mine. That's why I made an appointment. Well, needless to say the girl and guy were done before me. It took a total of 2 hours and 15 minutes for my pedicure and gel manicure. If you have two people working, do not accept 3 people. 2 hours and 15 minutes?! That's unacceptable. The gel lasts the full 3 weeks here, that's why I came back but they need to treat loyal customers better. An appointment is an appointment. There are better nail places out there. Don't waste 2 hours here. read more
