Her skills are top notch and we appreciate her straightforwardness. The pricing is the same as at any alterations place in the PV area. You cannot compare the pricing here to a shop in Lomita or Gardena for example since they have higher rent in the PV area. I also appreciate that I can communicate with her directly too.

BUYER BEWARE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS!…read more As I type this, I am standing here outside Miki Alteration. Yesterday, my daughter dropped off (in the afternoon after school) her dance dress for alteration at the wrong tailor - she was supposed to give it to Grace (down the street from Miki). My wife had gotten something tailored at Miki before , but wasn't happy and other moms had recommended Grace. We realized my daughter's error last evening itself and so I came today right at store opening at 9 am. I told the lady in the store about the error, and asked if we could have the dress back. She told me the dress is ripped at the seams (no cutting) and that I would have to pay a lot. I tried to reason but she kept asking why we are doing this. I told her the same thing that we dropped it off to the wrong tailor. I offered to pay her $20 for having ripped off the seams. She then told me that she is pissed off and she will only give me the dress back if I pay the full amount, $135. And she further said that because she is so pissed off, she will only accept cash. I came back and asked to pay the full amount but she refused to give me the dress back. I had to call the police, and when they came and told her that she cannot keep my property, she finally resented and gave me the dress back. If you're looking for an honest and ethical tailor, you won't find her here.

Maureen is very skilled in her work. She took in some inches around my bust and added a bustle for the long train on my dress. Her prices are fair and affordable, and she has a quick turn around time for alterations! For my wedding dress, she had it ready in 2 weeks. My wedding dress zipper kept getting stuck even though tried to adjust it, so she replaced the whole zipper entirely, and it was perfect! I also brought my reception dress here for alterations as well. After my wedding, I brought both dresses and my veil back for dry cleaning, and she had it ready for pick up in 3 days. I will definitely recommend her to everyone I know. She did a wonderful job!!

Came here after getting quite a few quotes in the area for a hem and shoulder adjustment/alteration…read morefor a bridesmaid dress. Over messages I was given a rough estimate of $40 for the hem and $20 for a shoulder take in, which was lower than the quotes I was receiving from other places. When I came in, my total to be paid at pick up was at $110. $90 for the hem, $20 for the shoulder. Of course, a quote is dependent on material, difficulty, etc., so I did not complain, but quote versus actual prices ended up being almost double. For a satin, a-line, unlined dress, this price was higher than what any from my group of bridesmaid with the same dress paid at other places. When I came in to pay and receive the dress she again upped the price by $5, making my total $115, which I found out after, was not the price given on my receipt when the dress was dropped off ($110) The actual work was fine and did the job, and the shop owner was very nice, but I do not think I would return here after my own personal experience.

Flawless execution, to a point where you can truly feel the attention the detail & appreciate the skills needed for this kind of service. So I'm very fortunate to have this business close by. PRICING: Totally fair. I was pleasantly surprised to have been charged $25 for an original hem. To my understanding, it's more labor intensive compared to a standard hem. Sam helped me from the intake and even recognized me during my pickup. He's kind, polite, a real stand up guy running an honest business.

One was tailored correctly but the other was incorrectly hemmed, even with specific instructions. When I told the gentleman it was not correct, he responded saying there was not enough fabric. I felt the thickness and, being a sometimes-sewer myself, I knew there was still some to correct it. Though he debated it with me and said they "might have some fabric left ". Not reassuring. They did correct the issue and I had to come back a week later, but as a first timer and someone who is detailed about my clothing, it made me unnecessarily nervous taking my items here when i walked in and noticed there was no tailor on site who I could give my specific requests to. But I trusted their process and hoped my request would be passed along. Service was good but as a detailed person, I'm not completely convinced this is the right tailor for me.

I gave them three jeans for adjusting the length and they messed up the brand new jeans. I told them that some places didn't do a good job so I specifically told to make sure the jeans doesn't stick out after the alternation. They agreed to it and did exactly the opposite. I have attached the picture for reference. Instead of taking the accountability the owner of the store tried to gaslight saying that they jeans might came crocked and they didn't mess it up. He even asked me to return the jeans to get my money back for the jeans but who will refund the money that I paid them even though they messed it up?? For someone who has a business like dry cleaners and asking to return the customer jeans for refund instead of fixing the mess up is extremely awful. Edit: Updating the review with a response from the business owner. I had multiple discussion with the owner regarding this mess up at the store. He has been repeating the same story again and again. He seems to miss the point that it was communicated before handing over the jeans that it should not stick out after the alternation which he seems to have chose to ignore. A general statement of "Your jeans do not have the same taper all the way down" is not acceptable considering the mess up is with three jeans and also I don't have any problem with how it looks on the left side. I have a problem with just the right. You cannot say that all three jeans have issue with the taper on the right side. Also, he suggested to get them tapered but with a reduced width which makes the jeans tight to wear and he forgets to mention in his response that he stated that jeans might still stick out even after the taper as well. Fact is your tailor did placed the jeans side ways while sewing under the machine. I don't mind giving another chance as long as you guys can promise that the jeans won't stick out like that after the taper.
