Came here to get a few piece of clothes altered. I had a summer dress and skirt that needed to have a seam restitched and then a silk bridesmaid dress needing to be hemmed. Since they only have a regular sewing machine he advised that I go to the alteration place around the corner to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed but he could restitch my skirt and dress. I appreciated that he encouraged me to go elsewhere rather than just taking my money to not do a good job. If you need a fancy piece altered, I'd go elsewhere! They offered to dry clean my clothes after they altered them so I had them clean my dress. Very quick turn around time! They were able to alter my 2 pieces and dry clean my dress by the date he said it would be done (only 5 days - Sat till Wed). They didn't call me to confirm they were done so just show up on the day they say it will be done. To get 2 pieces altered and 1 piece dry cleaned the total cost was only $29.99. Very cheap and worth it! The only disappointment was the stitch color that he used is different than the color of my dress so you can see it a little. You really have to look closely to notice so I'm happy with the work done. read more

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was disappointing enough that I feel obligated to share it. I brought in several Crate & Barrel curtain panels valued at approximately $900 for dry cleaning. Because of the cost of the curtains and the fact that they were in excellent condition, I specifically asked the owner, Sam, about potential risks before signing the waiver. During that conversation, Sam told me that pilling was a possibility, but he also stated that he had never personally encountered a situation where a customer's curtains experienced an adverse outcome from the cleaning process. He reassured me that everything would be fine. At no point did he mention shrinkage as a potential risk. That distinction is important because if I had been informed that shrinkage was a realistic possibility, I would not have proceeded with a nearly $400 dry-cleaning service on $900 curtains. I would have simply replaced them. Unfortunately, after cleaning, the curtains no longer matched in length. Panels that previously pooled slightly on the floor are now hanging approximately 3-5 inches above the floor, and the lengths appear inconsistent from panel to panel. In addition, the curtains appear to have been pressed improperly. The fabric no longer hangs straight. Instead, the sides appear narrower near the top and wider near the bottom, creating a noticeable billowing or hourglass effect. When I raised this concern, Sam acknowledged that the pressing issue was human error. I should note that I was unable to pick up the curtains for approximately a month due to a medical emergency. However, the condition of the curtains upon pickup does not change the fact that the shrinkage and pressing issues occurred during the cleaning and finishing process. What ultimately prompted this review was not just the outcome, but how the situation was handled. I spent approximately 20 minutes on the phone with Sam attempting to discuss the issue calmly and professionally. Rather than addressing the specific concerns I raised, he repeatedly insisted that I had been warned, despite the fact that shrinkage had never been mentioned. The conversation frequently drifted into broad generalizations about waivers and customer responsibility rather than the specific facts of what had been disclosed to me before I signed. When I explained that there is a meaningful difference between being warned about pilling and being warned about shrinkage, he maintained that shrinkage fell under the general umbrella of possible damage and that he could not be expected to list every potential outcome. I disagreed. When a customer specifically asks about risks, they deserve enough information to make an informed decision. I also found it unreasonable that I was told I could receive either a $50 accommodation for the shrinkage issue or have the curtains re-pressed to correct the acknowledged pressing error--but not both. These are two separate issues. One relates to the cleaning outcome, while the other relates to admitted workmanship during finishing. Perhaps most disappointing was being told that providing any additional accommodation would essentially amount to "running a charity instead of a business." After spending nearly $400 on the service and receiving curtains that no longer fit or hang properly, that comment felt dismissive and unnecessarily insulting. Had Sam simply acknowledged that shrinkage should have been discussed, shown some empathy, and worked collaboratively toward a reasonable solution, I likely would not be writing this review. The parking can be somewhat hectic because Sam's Cleaners shares a (large) parking lot with other businesses and the lot can get busy during peak hours. But I've been three times & Sam is courteous, kind & friendly (as is his dad!). Dry cleaning always comes back well cleaned. Prices are fair / reasonable & better priced than many other dry cleaners / cleaners in South Bay. I have a few closer to my home, but I don't mind driving the extra 10 minutes to Sam's, as this is now my go to place. My clothes are always ready on the date promised. The rating is only for alterations. I brought in two pairs of pants and had specific requests on one of the hems. One was tailored correctly but the other was incorrectly hemmed, even with specific instructions. When I told the gentleman it was not correct, he responded saying there was not enough fabric. I felt the thickness and, being a sometimes-sewer myself, I knew there was still some to correct it. Though he debated it with me and said they "might have some fabric left ". Not reassuring. They did correct the issue and I had to come back a week later, but as a first timer and someone who is detailed about my clothing, it made me unnecessarily nervous taking my items here when i walked in and noticed there was no tailor on site who I could give my specific requests to. But I trusted their process and hoped my request would be passed along. Service was good but as a detailed person, I'm not completely convinced this is the right tailor for me. read more

I had two green sweatshirts with heavy oil/fat stains from food that wouldn't come out even with dish soap and baking soda along with multiple wash cycles. I took it here and he told me he would handle it and make sure that the color of the sweatshirt wouldn't fade at all. When I got it back, it was perfect. I had some jeans and dress pants hemmed, and they look great! I was hesitant on hemming jeans because the factory hem is hard to replicate. I tried it and they look amazing. My first visit and it was the text book example of white glove customer service. From drop off to pick up it's how I wish every interaction could be. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a warm, professional and positive hello. I have to say that is more and more rare as people either can't make eye contact, may exhibit they have no desire to be where they are or have no idea what they are doing. I can't tell you how refreshing it was to walk in and be greeted so warmly. I explained I had not been there before but wanted to dry clean a cocktail dress and sweater. The young man was very kind and told me that it would not be a problem and we went over both pieces together to mark any specific spot. He was thorough, took his time and didn't rush me when going over the two Items I brought in. He marked everywhere I pointed out and said they would look both over carefully and asked for a bit of information to create an account. It was very simple. I was pleasantly surprised when that part was complete I was told that your first time there gets you a discount. How cool is that! Just got better and better. The cherry on the cake was I was asked when I needed it, not told a date! That was really great. Lastly I inquired about when you pay and was told not to worry about it until pick up. A few days later at pick up... greeted by the same smiling person who welcomed me and was kind when I couldn't find the receipt I knew I had in my purse.
