Miki is so amazing! We went to her about 5-6x already and she is so nice and honest. She even altered for us on the spot while we sat and waited. Her skills are top notch and we appreciate her straightforwardness. The pricing is the same as at any alterations place in the PV area. You cannot compare the pricing here to a shop in Lomita or Gardena for example since they have higher rent in the PV area. I also appreciate that I can communicate with her directly too. read more

BUYER BEWARE, AVOID AT ALL COSTS! As I type this, I am standing here outside Miki Alteration. Yesterday, my daughter dropped off (in the afternoon after school) her dance dress for alteration at the wrong tailor - she was supposed to give it to Grace (down the street from Miki). My wife had gotten something tailored at Miki before , but wasn't happy and other moms had recommended Grace. We realized my daughter's error last evening itself and so I came today right at store opening at 9 am. I told the lady in the store about the error, and asked if we could have the dress back. She told me the dress is ripped at the seams (no cutting) and that I would have to pay a lot. I tried to reason but she kept asking why we are doing this. I told her the same thing that we dropped it off to the wrong tailor. I offered to pay her $20 for having ripped off the seams. She then told me that she is pissed off and she will only give me the dress back if I pay the full amount, $135. And she further said that because she is so pissed off, she will only accept cash. I came back and asked to pay the full amount but she refused to give me the dress back. I had to call the police, and when they came and told her that she cannot keep my property, she finally resented and gave me the dress back. If you're looking for an honest and ethical tailor, you won't find her here. read more

I met Miki today for the first time. She came in on a day that her shop was otherwise closed, and made a special appointment just to accommodate me. She was friendly and helpful, and I thought her quoted price was inexpensive. I expected to pay at least 50% more, but was pleasantly surprised. The price was what she stated, when I went back to pick up my clothes. Her shop is full, but clean and smells good. She was pleasant to deal with, and declined to take a tip - when I offered it to her She finally accepted the tip after she did extra work that I asked for after the initial work had been finished. Always great service, we love coming here! Miki is the sweetest, and the prices are great. I would highly recommend getting your clothes altered by her, she knows what I'm looking for in terms of alterations and always does it better than what I expect or ask for. When all of the businesses were closed during Covid, she actually mailed out masks to customers and local FD/Sheriff's for free without asking for anything in return, can't think of a nicer person to do business with and to support. read more

DON'T GO THERE! I am writing this review in regards to the alteration AWFUL service Miki provided. Not only did she over charge me for a simple dress alteration but she did a horrible, incomplete job. For a professional seamstress, you would think she would have know what would look good and right. It wasn't portioned evenly on both sides. It was a disaster to say the least. When I asked her to make it right, she said she would have to charge me more. ****Most importantly, she is a HORRIBLE person to her customers. She called my dog fat and asked what was wrong with me when I said that wasn't very nice. She made me pay cash, when other customers said she accepts credit card. I've tried all the tailors in our city and she is by far the best in terms of quality, timeliness. Yes she is expensive but if I'm bringing in expensive or important items, I want them done professionally and of quality. If you just need basic alteration, bring to your dry cleaner. Ridiculously High Prices Before patronizing Mikki, shop around. I give her a 1 star because of her exorbitant pricing. She charges 3 times the amount of some tailors and at least 1/3 more than other tailors on the Hill. Her prices are outrageous!!!! Most people on the Hill charge between $18-20 to adjust the waist of male slacks. Mikki charges $36. Perhaps she's quite talented and her price is justified for unique fabrics but for basic alterations, I suggest you shop around. There are two other tailors on her street alone and both are much more reasonable. I witness Mikki tell a customer that she charges $120-$145 for shoulder alterations. The lady looked like she wanted to cry but agreed to the high price. I went down the street and asked another tailor what they'd charge for that same service and it was less than 1/2 of what Mikki quoted the lady. This is one of the the worst experiences I've ever had. Where should I start. Some of it could've been a language barrier, but when being in person and discussing, it seem like she was still lying about what she said initially. A suit is 2 pieces , jacket and pants. we agreed on that . She quoted 160 for a suit and pants to be hemmed $15 apiece. Then she she charged us 355$!!!!! my husband was at the shop and called me to go over the pricing, and I confirmed what I wanted done and the price. I went into shop r have a better understanding of what happened . She explained that the jacket was 160. The pants were another $120! Then for the additional 2 pairs of pants she wanted to do the waist, even though we did not want the waist done. I had to go on and on and explain to her why I did not want the Waist touched. We had just bought a bigger size at the store. I finally demanded the suit back and I told her I would pay her for some of her services. She said that my husband wanted it done as soon as possible and a rush, which was not true !! . I think she may have even charged extra fee for a rush which we did not need. She charge me $145 because she started the pants and she said she started the jacket. Which when looking at the jacket all she did was cut the bottom she did not cut into the shoulders or do any work on the upper part of the jacket. She is unprofessional, rude , a bully! abrasive and does not listen to the customer . She even had the audacity to speak negatively about our marriage. We had never met this woman before . He called me to go over the prices and what was to be done because the original price you quoted was 480$ and he didn't know that was what I was expecting. And I was shocked I could not understand what she was doing for $480. Because he called me to clarify because he has a head injury , she said " and she still married you ". Who does that? That is so rude. I don't know who she thinks she is. I hesitated to write this review, but I don't want anybody else to go through this experience. She's a scam artist, and I wish I had read the reviews before. Please do yourself a favor and don't step foot into this business. I literally had to throw away the Pants because she cut them all up I could not even pass them on to somebody else . And the jacket that she lied and said was half done , she just cut the bottom. So she did give me a credit finally but we basically ended up paying $175 to have her cut up a pair of pants so they couldn't be used, and to hem two pairs of pants. I tried to take the two pairs of pants I needed having Back, but she wouldn't give them to me.Horrific experience . very sad ! read more

Alter your attitude, Miki. Terribly rude, horrible customer service. I was given back my clothing and I noticed a terrible stench coming from the clothing and I checked and I found several lee stains along with poop smears all other the jacket. I went back to the store and when I told Miki about my situations she began to growl at me while her mouth started to foam up. The place is filthy and the stench that fills the air almost made me throw up. Miki knows that there are mice at the store and she actively takes care of them and feeds them. Highly recommended. Miki is always very friendly and is extremely skilled at what she does. She was recommended by a friend of mine. I brought her a backpack that I had purchased new a couple of weeks prior at Ross and the zipper had already broke. She replaced the zipper with a better quality one and gave my cheap backpack a second chance ;) She's a magician with custom designs too, whatever you can dream up she can do. My friend had a bunch of old neck ties he didn't want to throw away so he asked Miki to make a Scottish kilt and she did it to perfection LOL! I will certainly be using her in the future. read more

This woman is a thieve! She pretends to be super sweet to have you trust her. We had thousands of dollars worth of suits. I've been coming here for years without having to ever provide her a receipts because she knew me. When we finally decided to pick up our suits after months she decided to give them away. Never calling us once. When confronted by the situation she pretended that now we needed provide the receipts. And claimed she had them for over a year which was a lie! She went from a sweet lady to vicious angry defensive liar! She didn't call me once and saw her several times not once did she mention this made up policy. Wow!!!! What an experience! I bought these two pants in Singapore for $20 for the pair of them. I took them into her. The elastic was loose in them. She completely did away with the other elastic. I came to pick them up over a week later and nothing!!!! (The delay I don't blame her for since it was Halloween). I asked If my pants were done .... she said "No! Give her a moment and she would 'START ' them" She did an excellent job but charged me $70 ... SEVENTY DOLLARS FOR WORK THAT SHE BEGAN WHEN I ARRIVED. It only took her 20 minutes or less max to complete.!! Although I adore her and she does pretty solid work with alterations I will go elsewhere do to it being way more than it should. Maybe she thought I was one of the easy ones on PV. ......unfortunately/Fortunately I work as hard as she does and certainly don't earn $70 in 20 minutes nor think that's right to charge a client. read more

I can't recommend Miki enough. I went to her just 5 days before my wedding, with a dress that had been badly damaged by another tailor. My previous tailor had cut the skirt unevenly and completely destroyed the original style. Miki quickly recognized the fixes and completely transformed my dress in 2 days!! I took a chance not knowing Miki.. seeing if I could get a zipper fixed on a carrying pouch I use for work. It gets beat up but I have a job that I go through gear often. I dropped it off and not only did Miki fix the zipper she addressed other potential failures of the pouch. I offered to pay her more because she went above and beyond what was asked. She declined the extra payment and asked that I write about my good experience with her. I didn't know what to expect especially not being from the area. I was very pleased with the results and quality of work. In this day and age it's hard trying to get people just to do something basic, so when someone goes above and beyond it should be recognized. Beware. After spending $60 for alterations to a dress for my daughter the dress still did not fit and then she wanted another $90 to do more work! Then when my employee tried to pick up pants that had been hemmed miki started screaming that she did not take credit cards. She started cussing in front of my children when I was talking to her on the phone because my employee did not know what to do. When I went the next day to pick up the pants she refused to take a check however I always paid her with checks. She made me drive to the bank to give her cash before she would give me my clothes! Miki did my wedding dress alterations and did a great job. My dress had a lot of detail beading that started to fall of and she was able to repair each bead and detail and ordered new beading to add some additional details. She has a good eye and was able to make everything look perfect. read more
