Bacon and Eggs

I had honestly never heard of Gladstone's, but after looking at their website, I thought I'd give them a try. I really came in here with no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in. I absolutely loved the atmosphere and was glad to see there was separate bar area. The breakfast menu has the typical items, but I was in the mood for the Basic Breakfast. I went with the bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. My mom decided on the Veggie Omelet. I was surprised neither of us got the Chicken Fried Steak. We both enjoyed a couple of Bloody Mary's. Always a good addition to a Sunday breakfast and they tasted great. Honestly, this was a great breakfast. The bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly. The bacon was a little thicker. It wasn't the see thru bacon you get from the chains. The hashbrown were golden brown. The omelet tasted great as well. If you're looking for higher end breakfast food on Alberta in Portland, maybe this isn't the place. But if you're looking for a good breakfast, Gladstone's doesn't disappoint. I will certainly be back to try the Chicken Fried Steak. The service here was great as well. Plus was plenty of encouragement to order more than one Bloody Mary. Enjoy!

*Updating menu photos with new items added. The new parking lot on the corner of Arlington & Portland Ave is a great addition for the restaurant. The staff is always friendly and attentive. There is inside and outside seating available. The outside seating is so nice in spring and summer. I recently noticed that there is video poker here too! The food is always great and new items are added to the menu regularly but my absolute favorite thing is that they offer clam chowder everyday. That alone brings me back again and again!

Really good food! I didn't see many breakfast reviews so took a gamble coming here for breakfast but it paid off. I'm sort of a snob about hash browns, and they came out nicely. $17 for steak and eggs, $16 for chicken fried steak. Points worth noting: gravy was flavorful; which sometimes can be a weak point on CFS, but they used enough salt and it was good! Hasbrowns were ordered as extra crispy; and they came out nicely. Could have even been more crispy but they were not soft on the outside which I appreciated. Steak is tender, medium rare is good to order it. It was quiet in here on a Sunday at 11am but we were sat quickly, and received good service. The music isn't too loud and they have lots of TVs on various sports channels.

Lunch with friends and great to see it was busy with large groups of 8-10 people. Similar menu to Coasters as manager is Coasters owner, and daily specials; Tues $3 off both Text Mex dishes.Food was aok, fresh produce but missing the authenticity of Tex Mex flavors, more like a Cali plate Chipotle kind of plate, veggies and meat wrapped burrito $15.95. Very edible but not our kind of crave worthy, served with chips without salsa oddly. Would be a great stop to see a game though with great TV-Seat ratio, with better than normal bar food. Rockfish in the tacos were small bits of fish vs a filet or forkfuls, but at least not deep fried like most pubs. 2 Flour Tacos come with a side of esquites corn like elote but off the cob, not bad (or rice). $12 Old Fashioned Rebel 100 whiskey was a great pour as was the Pfreim IPA. Local and a great outdoor patio for less dreary weather, Gladstone's is a worthy spot for healthier pub options with fresh food.

Steak salad. I opted for balsamic instead of blue cheese dressing and added avocado. Delish!!

We used to go to the Chinese restaurant what used to be there. The decor is Much improved!! Big beautiful bar, clean and welcoming atmosphere. The food is fresh, tasty and an amazing value for the price point!! I had the steak salad, my husband had the brisket burger. Both very good!!We will be going there again!!

Last Saturday my parents and I had a late breakfast/brunch at this charming restaurant. It was my first time eating here, and the food, service and atmosphere were all very charming and very comfortable. My mom and I had the pancake breakfast special. For $10 we received two eggs, bacon or sausage and two very delectable pancakes. I opted for the sausage and the texture and flavor were homemade and authentic. I didn't ask, but previous experience with breakfast sausage leads me to believe that it was homemade, or at the very least a special blend for Gladstones. The portions were more than filling, and the service and atmosphere was extremely friendly and overall the noise level was definitely within conversation range. If you're looking for a new place place to check out, you can't go wrong here. The service, location, parking and hospitality and above all food are hard to beat!

Came in here on a Friday just after the lunch rush and there were plenty of seating options. We were greeted right away and said we could sit wherever we'd like (even though there was a sign as you entered that said "Please wait to be seated"). Our greeter and server were polite, welcoming and friendly and not in a fake way. We ordered the smash burger, and shrimp tacos. The burger was a good size, not too big or small (it is a double patty, keep that in mind) but I felt the patties could have been more "smashed". It was very filling, and it was quite hot for the first couple of bites, I think because of the grilled onions. It was also greasy/messy but I think sometimes that's a sign of a good burger. Hard to go wrong on tots so not much to say there. Husband said his shrimp tacos were pretty good (seems kind of surprising since on the surface this place is a bit a "local bar"). And the esquite (elotes in a bowl) side was delicious to me, he only ordered it for me haha. The restaurant was clean, bathrooms too. There were, however, a few flies in the area we sat in that kept bothering us.

5/5 Stars - Highly Recommend!…read more What a cute little place! We had a wonderful experience at Coasters Crossing! We ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy, French Toast with bacon and eggs, and French Toast with sausage patties and eggs. Everything was absolutely delicious! The biscuit was incredibly moist and so good! All of our food was flavorful, fresh, and really hit the spot. Our server was pleasant and friendly, and the overall atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and relaxing. Such a charming little spot with great food and a nice atmosphere! We would definitely recommend Coasters Crossing and will absolutely be back again!

Coasters is definitely a unique little spot! The restaurant appears to have been rebuilt rather…read morethan converted from an old train station, but there is a tiny train-station-like shack on the same property, with trains passing by every so often. It has a fun atmosphere and plenty of outdoor seating. Inside, it has more of a bar vibe than a restaurant feel. Be careful when driving there, because it's easy to miss. The restaurant sits back from the road and isn't immediately obvious. Unfortunately, I wasn't overly impressed with the food or service. I ordered the shrimp melt with tater tots and specifically requested extra lemons and ranch. My friend ordered the fish tacos, which were extremely fishy tasting. No thank you! When our food arrived, there were no lemons or ranch. I reminded our server, and she said she'd get them. Well, I waited and waited. My friend had practically finished her entire meal before the server came back. I asked again for the lemons and ranch and even offered to go inside to the bar and get the lemons myself! Eventually, the lemons arrived, but the ranch never did. It's frustrating when something so simple takes that much effort, especially when you specifically requested it while ordering. By the time I got the lemons, the whole experience had already gone downhill as my friend was pretty much done with her food and my shrimp milk is now cold cold cold, The location and atmosphere are definitely the highlights here. The trains passing by create a fun setting, and the property has a unique charm, but the food and service really need some improvement. I wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, it fell short.
