It's expensive but very good...not one of those places that you wonder what makes people pay. I like their artisan bread and pastries better than the very popular jar cakes if you really want me to compare. Overall it's worth the money. Sometimes you may get their yesterday's breads for FREE in the morning or you can reserve a surprise bag from Too Good To Go with whatever is left at the end of the day. They're still fresh so maybe a more affordable way to try a variety of stuff and you can go back to get your favorites! read more

Our daughter wanted to have a plain croissant and we decided to try a new place. The croissant just came out of the oven and it was so delicious! It was very flaky. We all liked it very much. Such a great place! The man running this location was so nice. I came to their location because I saw photos of the beautiful jar cakes they have to offer and I went to pick one up! Before doing so the man gave me samples of every jar cake just so I can be sure of the one I choose. I thought this was so kind and helpful! An even bigger plus is that all the jar cakes are gluten free which I did not know! So happy to have found this place - the jar cakes are delicious and they make a great gift. I have been to this bakery 3 times. The little shop is cozy and humble. The worker (owner?) is friendly. So far, I've tried a chocolate croissant, an almond croissant, and a monkey bread. All 3 were impressive. I love the taste of the pastry and the quality of their chocolate. Both are rich and flavorful. Nothing is too sweet. They're on a pricier range but considering the quality of their baked goods, it's worth it. They have the best sourdough I have ever had. I discovered GK Pastry by chance when visiting Mountain View a week ago. This was in the afternoon, so all they had was the last half-loaf, which I bought. I got home, tasted the bread, then tasted some more, then some more, and two hours later it was all gone. This week I happened to be in the vicinity in the morning, so this time I got a full loaf, started nibbling on it on my way home, and by the the end of my trip, half of the loaf was gone. This is a small bakery that is right in my neighborhood. I didn't know it existed but discovered it thru Yelp. Yay! My sister and I picked 2 forcaccio (tomato/mozzarella and mushroom/tomato. Both are delish! We also picked up a pistachio croissant which I'm too full from a slice of the forcaccios. This looks like a family owned business and the person helped us was very informative and gave us recommendations for first timers. Since we went in the late afternoon, they didn't have croissants which I'm eager to try. Highly recommended cuz it's yummy and it's a small business in our neighborhood. read more

Wow! I'm in heaven! I can hardly wait to go back and eat more gently warmed Foccacia and toss down some healthy cabbage and cucumber slaw to go with it. The almond brown sugar crunchy cookie/biscuit things were good, too. I splurged on some of that fancy chocolate tat everyone has been raving about, but haven't tried it yet. The young man with the French? accent behind the counter was really nice, and patient and answered all of my questions about their pastries. The cake jars are also quite nice. Not to sweet and lovely texture. We've had all the flavors but my son loves the mixed berry while my husband likes the dark chocolate. I really love this bakery. Their jar cakes are fantastic; I recently tried their blueberry focaccia and it was on spot not too sweet and I liked the detail of the chocolate in the dough. I just tried the pistachio ice cream. It is outstanding. It tastes more like gelato than ice cream. We usually drive all the way to Los Gatos to get gelato from Dolce Spazio. This was equally as excellent. I just hope they make more flavors soon. read more
