Every time I walk past this place, I see so many people getting gelato. As a huge gelato fan, I finally decided to stop by today and OMG, why didn't I visit earlier?! So creamy and so good! They have so many flavors too! Such a cute gelato spot, and they also sell sandwiches. One side wall is completely filled with Haribo gummies! No seating inside, so it's more of an easy grab and go spot, but there are benches outside. Such a hidden gem for gelato! Must try if you're a gelato fan!
This is the best gelato place I have tried and I was in Italy not too long ago! Their ice cream is so smooth and stretchy, my favorite flavor is the Valrhona chocolate which is perfectly rich and just the right amount of sweetness. My family and friends love the pistachio flavor. In addition to the gelato, the service is spectacular. The guy working is always so sweet, very knowledgeable and happy to let you taste whichever flavor your heart desires! The cafe is right around the corner from the main University Avenue street. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for great gelato!
Delicious gelato!!! My boyfriend and I stopped by here for a dessert after lunch one day. We parked in the lot right next to the place. We were greeted by the staff there. He was friendly and nice. We tried a couple samples, and we each chose two different flavors on cone and a cup. I honestly don't remember what flavors we got. I think he got a coffee one and something else. While I chose two Asian flavors. Maybe lychee? Anywho, they were all very yummy. I would definitely return again when I'm in the area. :)
Just wrote a review for the location in Burlingame and realized this is the same shop! I've been going here for years and prefer it over every other ice cream/gelato shop on University Ave. The shop is around the corner from the main street and offers many gelato flavors to pick from, making it easy to satisfy my cravings. Most recently I went with fruity flavors (mango and strawberry) on a hot weekend and it was the perfect pick me up. Will continue going back for more!

Such a delicious gelato place! Came here for dessert on a Friday night and were served quickly. I went to Italy last year and can tell you that this gelato is up to par with the gelato from over there. The pistachio (5/5) gelato was a great flavor, creamy, dense, and everything you're hoping for. I can't wait to come back! They also have candies and serve Italian sandwiches. I was asking about the Dubai chocolate gelato, but you can't substitute the ice cream at the bottom (has to be chocolate). That's a bummer because I would've loved the Dubai topping with the pistachio ice cream!
Wow. The stretchiest gelato I've ever had. The gelato place that was here prior to this one was my favorite in Palo Alto. I was bummed that it closed down a couple years ago. I'm so happy another gelato place opened up in its spot. In fact, I think this might even be better than the previous one! I knocked down a star because unfortunately we could only sample 2 flavors. I understand why they have a limit, but there are so many other gelato and ice cream places around that doesn't limit us, so it felt very restrictive (especially since they offer so many unique flavors!). Their sample spoon is different than the gelato spoon. The gelato spoon is a lot sturdier and it made sense after I started eating it. The gelato is thicc...in a good way.
**** DUBAI CHOCOLATE GELATO **** 4.5 STARS For those who missed out on Ghirardelli's one day offering of the Dubai Chocolate Sundae.... Hit up Caffe Stellato in PA or Burlingame. (Hila Gelato in SF also has their own version but I liked Caffe Stellato's a lot better.) TikTok/influencers haven't blown it up yet so there isn't a line. This Italian gelato shop serves top-tier gelato with over 42 flavors. They also have made-to-order Italian sandwiches and a wall of candies, chocolates, and snacks. There's a mini Dubai chocolate bar for $7.99. D U B A I C H O C O L A T E G E L A T O - One size: $10 The valrhona chocolate gelato is perfectly thick and dense (no air pockets) with a delicious milky chocolatey flavor and an ever so light bitter nuance so is not too sweet. It's topped with a drizzle of pistachio cream, crushed pistachios, and kataifi (toasted shredded phyllo). The first several bites with the topping were sublime like the real deal, rich and nutty with a buttery crunch. But then you're just left with a scoop of chocolate gelato. Suggestion to mgmt: Do a split scoop of the chocolate gelato, layer it with the pistachio cream + kataifi, top it with another split scoop of gelato, and finish it with pistachio cream, kataifi, and crushed pistachios. 5 stars for the quality of Caffe Stellato's gelato but unfortunately I gotta round down because I was hoping for more pistachio cream and kataifi.
Gelato craving satisfied! I absolutely was delighted with the amount of flavors they had to offer. It's hard to go wrong with good gelato. My absolute favorite was their coffee flavor. It's a must try for a late night snack in my opinion. Service was quick and friendly, ambiance is great especially around the Mountain View area. 100% recommend.

The sandwich was so delicious, and it was going to be my new favorite spot. But halfway through, I found a bug in it. I'm hoping it was just a one off, and I didn't eat a bunch of bugs before looking. I'm hoping maybe it's from under washed veggies, and not just bugs crawling around the meat. Pretty disappointed. The gelato was great, and I've been here before to get a milkshake, which was amazing as well.
I've come here in multiple occasions and they have never failed to amaze me. this evening right after dinner, decided to come by and have a gelato. noticed they have a new Dubai chocolate gelato and was ecstatic to try. When I came in, the place as always is clean and well maintained. The two gentlemen behind the counters serving are friendly and welcoming. I ordered my Dubai chocolate gelato cup and I saw how he made it with freshly delicious ingredients. The price is affordable and once I received it and tasted, it was just soo yummy! I won't hesitate to return.
Saw this cute little ice cream shop after eating at the Mediterranean food right across. Walked in and saw so many flavors, some flavors you don't really see in other shops. What caught our eyes was the strawberry honey lavender flavor. Usually it's always two separate flavors at other ice cream shops. The taste was amazing!! None of the flavors overpowered each other. You can still taste the strawberry, lavender, and sweetness from the honey. The smell was mostly lavendery but we didn't mind that. It was a nice refreshing smell. The texture was soft and stretchy with every bite. I would come back again if we're around the area!

Came in on a Sunday. The shop is small and narrow so if there's anyone else there, it can be tricky to wait. We ordered the Stellato special, BLT, cafe latte and a single scoop of the cookies extreme while we waited. The core cream was amazing, great for anyone who loves cookies n cream. The sandwiches were solid too! I only wish they were hot, but definitely tasty and tasted like fresh, quality ingredients. There was only one person working, but he was quick and efficient. There are so many ice cream spots in the area now but this place had so many flavors that looked amazing, would love to come back and try more! read more
Yum yum yum for gelato! There's a lot of flavors here to choose from and I had the Valrhona (rich dark chocolate) gelato, which was da bomb! No seats here but it's worth stopping by to grab some sweets to go. There's a wall full of candies as well with a variety of flavors. And, they make sandwiches, too! Great vibe and service! read more

This is the best gelato place I have tried and I was in Italy not too long ago! My friend saw that this place recently opened so we came to try it. The man working was super nice and offered us samples of the flavors. I tried the black sesame and lychee. Both were good! I ended up getting a 1 scoop of the lychee. He said it tastes exactly like the fruit and he was right. I will definitely be back. There are so many fun flavors to try. read more

Lunch/Dinner + Dessert all in one! I came here for the sandwiches because it looked amazing and they import and source their meat meticulously from Italy or local vendors with the best quality. It definitely makes a HUGE difference because their sandwiches were some of the best I had in the bay area. Each sandwich is beautifully crafted with the perfect ration of meat, spread, cheese, and veggies. Although other sandwich places might offer more value in terms of how much meat is packed in, this place gives you more in quality of favor and balance. I'm a huge fan of the mortadella and pastrami. Don't miss picking up a sandwich from here, their deli is located in the back of the shop. But even better is you can pick up snacks and dessert at the same time you pick up your meal. They have an entire snack wall full of candies with so much variety. As impressive as their snack wall is, their gelato flavor also offer an amazing variety. Their gelato has this beautiful texture and depth of flavor that is truly delicious. When you pick up a spoon for a bite, you can see how stretchy the gelato is. Their chocolate and ube flavor is to die for. HIGHLY RECOMMEND coming here for sandwiches or dessert!! Better pick over salt and straw imo any day. read more
I haven't tried their Gelato ice cream but I've Petto di Pollo is what I bought. It's delicious. I would recommend trying this if you are around the area. Customer service is exceptional and very friendly. Going around lunch time hours seems to be the best choice. read more

I have been a big fan of Gelato Classico for many years and was initially skeptical about how this place would compare. However, I saw someone on Yelp mention that it was the best gelato in the Bay Area, so I decided to give it a try. I have to say, I agree! I've visited many gelato spots over the years, and most of them have one thing in common--they're not creamy or thick enough. This place, however, stands out. The gelato here is much creamier than the others I've tried, and the texture is perfect. I ordered the cookie extreme and I could taste the Oreo in it. The service was excellent as well. I think it might have been the owner who helped me, but I'm not entirely sure. He was very patient while I sampled several different flavors. The ambiance is quite small, but another exciting feature is that they sell authentic Italian sandwiches. According to the owner, the meats are imported directly from Italy, and I'm definitely planning to try them next time. read more

Excellent, some of the best gelato in the area with a mix of classic and fresh new flavors. The sandwiches are very tasty as well. I expect this to be a regular part of my rotation for casual food and dessert in the Palo Alto area. Prices are also shockingly cheap! Lot to like here! read more

We finished up a movie across the street and noticed it was still open (with about 10 minutes left until closing)! Mind you, it's Christmas Day. We were totally ready to be told they were done for the day but the man working was totally ready to serve us. He was already starting to clean up, so we had to wait a little bit. He gave my boyfriend's mom a special mixed single scoop since he said we made us wait, and was super personable and accommodating! He even gave me and my boyfriend free sprinkles on our scoops. :-) Will definitely be coming back (especially to try something from that wall of candy) after such friendly, exceptional service, especially given the circumstances. If you are a big fan of cookies and cream like me, then you have to try the cookies extreme! I loved it, and I love how dense this gelato is. 4.99 for one scoop is a really good price for the quality and how big of a scoop you get. My partner also really likes the Neapolitan. It's a happy night with this amazing gelato! read more
