They only had outside seating available and our granddaughter had just gotten over ear infections so we were leaving to find dinner elsewhere when the manager came after us. Everything from the atmosphere to the wine was top notch. Our server Victor was so good and attentive and we loved all of his suggestions. He recommended the Cannelloni and Penne Sausage and they were so good. The Happy Hour specials are a great price, $20 for a good bottle of wine. $6 appetizers. The owner came and checked in on us. This was our first time at Guiseppe's and boy what a treat! After stumbling upon this little hidden gem, we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated promptly. Not too bad. I had a Pollo Bolognese which was good, but didn't have a real Bolognese (meat) sauce. Different. Wife had eggplant parm and she said it was pretty good. But the skin was tough. Outstanding Italian food in an unpretentious setting. Came here on a recommendation from a hotel while in a road trip. Wow! Tucked away in the back of an unassuming strip mall and partially blocked by a sports bar. Great food, good service. Bread, fantastic. Salad, fantastic. Then had the Pork Carbonara and substituted farfalle. The pork chops looked grilled yet had a great smoked taste to them. They could've been a meal in and of themselves. The mound of pasta was unreal. The sauce as good as it gets for a creamy carbonara sauce. When I picture southern Italian, heavy, mob-style Italian, this is what I picture. Bring a bottle of your favorite wine for corkage to enjoy and plan on being carted away into a food coma. Your belly will thank you! Bonus...the place has a small bar with a TV. Well ive been here twice for dinner with the family and both times were not all that great. Service was not the best, we had to ask other waiters for refills or more bread or to let our waiter know we where ready to order. Food took atleast an hour to arive (which were just pastas mainly) which were ok but nothing to justify waiting that long for. I wont be going back here just not worth it... read more

We are visiting Tucson for the Jewelry Show. Our client wanted Italian food so we looked to Yelp to find recommendations. We sat at our table at 7:05 and our server didn't come to our table till 7:30 to take our drink order. The restaurant was busy but no excuse for the long wait for a cocktail. We got our drinks about 10 minutes later then our waitress took our food order. It took an hour from that time to get our food. Some of the food came out cold, some came out undercooked and another plate came out over cooked. The busboy was so sweet, he came to check on us every 10 minutes offering us more bread. The table next to us was offered a free dessert for their patience, but we were offered no compensation for our experience. We will not be back and I cannot recommend the restaurant. read more

We made reservations for Fri but the person on the phone wrote it down for Saturday. We found this out when we arrived. The hostess said no worries I can make everything happen, I asked "the birthday sheet of Tiramsu too?" She said I think we are out. Ugh they where. This is where I wonder how they will make this happen, since I brought my foodie compadre and his wife for his birthday and it being their first time there. Well from the hostess to the waiter Eddie and the owner they pulled it off. Serving of course their delicious large portion dishes, excellent wine (Ladera Cab) and for the birthday dessert the owner gave our table one of each of the desserts on the menu at no charge. Needless to say the owner and staff made it happen and of course earned our loyalty and gained my compadre and wife as new customers. Great job Guiseppes!! read more

Honestly, I walked in to Giuseppe's one night by mistake while I was staying in Tucson on business. I'm glad I made that mistake which turned out not to be a mistake after all. I was greeted by friendly staff and was pampered with warm bread. Ordered a delicious house salad and a spicy sausage pasta that was incredible. I returned a week later for that pasta! Visited Giuseppe's for our sons birthday. All around rotten experience. Drink order took about 15 minutes only to be told, we're out of the beer I ordered. Next came the appetizers, bruschetta was served on cold toast with a three inch diameter 1 inch thick of cold cheese and something that resembled tomatoes on top. Clam Chowder is supposed to have clams in it. Out of Veal and Chianti wine early in the evening, unacceptable. Waiter returns and says things were going to be slow because the cooks got Into a fight in the kitchen, but it's Ok now because we fired the one that had the other cook against the wall choking him. The main courses come out and the microwave didn't heat it all the way. One meal of chicken was cold and rubbery, one bite and it was sent back and asked to remove from our bill. Staff was slow, service was slow, but the best part was they did remove the bad meal and didn't charge us for the ringside seats. How do you say horrible in Italian--Giuseppe's! Sub-par food and even worse service. The hardest working person in the place was the busboy, who was also the most polite. Our food took quite some time to arrive (the place was not busy when we arrived or ordered) and wasn't hot when it reached out table. After watching our waiter pass by no less than a dozen times, I had to head to the bar to ask for my own refill. After my wife finished her glass of wine, she wasn't asked if she'd like another until the food arrived...about 15-20 minutes later. Did I mention the service was terrible? After we finished our meal it was very clear they wanted us out given how quickly they cleared out table while we were still talking. Won't be going back and would suggest going somewhere else for any considering here. read more

I had heard that Giuseppe's been a great restaurant, and was confirmed it by the reviews on Yelp. I was never more disappointed in my life!!! The seating was crowded, and the noise level was so high you could not carry on a conversation without shouting; I went with my wife and mother-in-law (Visiting from Chicago). My mother-in-law had the Veal and found it good, my wife had the Fettuccine Alfredo, and commented how dry and bland it was, Costco's was better!! I had the Penne & Sausage; I found it tasty but nothing to rave about. To our disappointment, there was not a vegetable on the menu, or served with the Veal dinner. Our waiter Dave was friendly and attentive. The pricing was good but I would have gladly paid more to have a conversation without shouting, a little more room, and a tastier meals and of course some vegetable offerings. We decided against desert at Giuseppe's and went to the Arizona Inn for Dessert and Coffee, and some catch-up conversation without shouting. I think the noise level ruined the entire dinner. Giuseppe's has some work to do if I am to return. read more

When Guiseppe's first opened it was wonderful!!! The Scordato's flavor could now be found in NW Tucson! We went pretty regularly for the tasty antipasto with caponata and savory fresh provolone cheeses etc. The pork ricotta was also superb and their ricotta cheese was creamy and full of flavor. One of the last time we were there, they passed off Talapia for Sea bass, used candied pecans on the Napa Salad in place of peppered pecans....ewe... and the marinara on the Polo Bolagnese was so sweet that me and every other table had to send it back....so sad you have no idea. So it has been around a year or so and we thought we would give it another try I called to ask questions was on hold for about 4 minutes, figured I got disconnected and have been trying to call back for the last 45 minutes....it goes directly to voicemail...oh well..too bad...so sad read more

So went back for our second time and rounded up the kids this trip. Went in for some appetizers and drinks for all of us and was very good. Not sure what it was. Nice fall night, great bottle of wine, delicious food, hanging oth people I love the most. Whatever. First Katie(sp?) was a fantastic server. We we told she was running the while restaurant, and my first thought was oh,oh. Not to worry though, she had it all under control. We started with the stuffed mushrooms, which were divine, but will try bruschetta next time. Lovely Malbec recommended by Katie. We had it all. Meatballs, cannelloni, parmigiana, and even grilled Salmon, all cooked to perfection. Finish with tiramisu and chocolate mousse. The only thing missing was a bit of lemoncello. I went here last night with some friends and would give them 5 stars it was amazing and service was good. I decided I was going to get it for lunch the next day (today) and ordered through grubhub. Took a hot minute but that's okay I'm fine waiting. I get the food and it's completely wrong so I call and they said 'oh the chef probably just saw penne and made the sausage one' wouldn't be a huge deal if I was eating in but through grubhub they can't do a thing, so I have to wait 5 days for a refund and reorder my food and wait another hour. I decided to just take my lunch break and race over there since it would take over my given lunch time to get there and back. When I get there the portion is like a child's portion and I get no apology, instead I am told 'Well you aren't being charged so I don't know what you want me to do' ... I would hope I'm not being charged for their mistake. It would have just been nice if the chef and employees double even triple checked to make sure everything was right so I could have had my food over an hour ago instead of having to drive to get a remake that isn't even hot when I get back. Just to top it off, the pasta was put in lopsided so all the sauce dripped out and when I picked the back up it ripped and pesto went all over my seats :) I can't blame grubhub for their mistake and they need to be more cautious about what they are giving out. read more

This hidden gem is a real find! Beautiful, small and intimate. From the moment we entered the premises to the time we left we were treated very well by the waiting staff and other members of staff with whom we came into contact. They all made us feel so welcome! The food was absolutely amazing and fresh! Great price for the portions! Wonderful service! I can go on and on about the wonderful evening we had. We called ahead to make reservations for my 30th Birthday dinner celebration and they accommodated our large group of 20 without any hesitation. When we arrived our table was all set up and ready for us out in the beautiful patio where we were serenated with beautiful music all night. At dinner we had oodles of bread, delicious appetizers, and delicious food and drinks. Our large group of 20 was served in good time, everything hot and so tasty! The whole experience from booking to leaving was excellent. Our out of town guests raved nonstop about Guiseppe's. We can't wait to come back again and again! A new favorite for us... I am an Italian-American from the East Coast, and it's been a struggle to find good Italian food in Tucson. This place satisfies my Italian cravings! I've been several times, and my top three dishes to get here are the eggplant parmigiana, the farfalle bolognese, and the meatballs and ricotta bake. I also enjoy the spongecake dessert--it reminds me of one my Nonie used to make on birthdays and other special occasions. The prices here are reasonable for the portions, and the service is very friendly. This is a great place for big group dinners with friends or a date night. Can't wait to go again! read more

This is truly a wonderful example of real Italian food. Growing up in New York, I believe I am a great critic of the way Italian food should taste. Everything is fresh and tasty. Service is great. The only problem you might have is the noise level. If you go with a large crowd you can hardly hear what is said. Aside from that, it is a real treat. This may be just short of a 5-star review - maybe 4.5, but really this was some excellent Italian food. The only thing I didn't really like was the Caesar salad, but that was just because it was made right (I prefer creamy Caesar dressing over traditional - it's too fishy for me). The sausage fettuccine was amazing and bread was wonderful. The service was excellent, as well (she tried a bit too hard, but it was with good intentions). Soooo sad!! This has been my go to place for the most amazing fettuccine alfredo in Tucson - they used to have beautiful, tender noodles bathed in a rich smooth alfredo. My mouth waters as i think of it. We chose to dine there last night and i ordered my standard with grilled chicken--What I got was a gluey hunk of al dente noodles with a dry, grainy alfredo - I almost cried! Talked to the waitress and she said they've recently made some changes --noooooo! Bring back the old recipe! Why fix it if it wasn't broke!!! Gonna give it one more try before moving on. read more

This sweet little place is not that noticeable from the street, back in a strip mall. It boasts some of the best Italian food in Tucson. Great salads, pasta, seafood and beef. Very friendly, and great drink prices. read more

NOT a good experience at Guiseppes! To begin, I made a reservation for 6 people at 7 pm on a Saturday night. I took the time to make a reservation because it was a weekend night and because we had a child-age 10 in our group who would not want to wait forever for a table if it was crowded. We arrived promptly at 7 and were told it would just be a bit because they only had 2 tables that would fit 6 people. We were fine with that and sat down on the bench by the hostess table. At 7:20 we were still waiting while other parties that had fewer people were being seated-even those without reservations. We couldn't figure out why they couldn't put a couple of tables together to accommodate us before the people that didn't even have a reservation? At 7:35 I was getting annoyed and asked if there was anywhere else we could be seated- outside or in was fine, we just wanted to sit since we had a reservation made at seven and it was now well past. The hostess kept saying they were waiting for this large party to leave but they were just sitting around so there was nothing they could do until they decide to leave. Again I'm not sure why they couldn't have just pushed two tables together so that we could be seated instead of waiting for the one large table that this party was taking up. We were finally seated at 7:55 almost an hour past our reservation time. If you are going to allow people to make reservations you need to be able to accommodate the reservation at the time it was made or what's the point? As a sidenote there were three parties that came in while we were waiting who also had reservations and were told the wait was quite long still and they ended up leaving- we should have done the same.During this time we were not offered a drink or anything else while we had to wait on the hard bench at the front of the restaurant. When we were at our table it took another 10 minutes to even get water on the table and for our waiter to come over. There were no napkins or utensils on the table until after we received our bread basket . We placed our order immediately upon the waiters first arrival because we were starving at this point especially the 10-year-old. We then waited until exactly 8:50 to actually receive our dinners. I will say it was busy the night we were there, but still to wait an hour for your food after you've placed an order is ridiculous . Now onto the food. We ordered the tomato basil bruschetta which was actually quite good, the only good part of our meal. For dinner, we had two orders of fettuccine Alfredo,one order of meatball Ricotta, one order of Bolognese pasta. These were acceptable- but none were above average. I ordered Campanelli pasta and my mother ordered the chicken Giovanni. Both of these dishes came out cold -not even a little warm. They had obviously been sitting there waiting for quite some time for the other dishes perhaps to be finished. I immediately got our waiters attention and asked for my pasta to be reheated. My mother also had to send back her chicken which was lukewarm at best. We told the waiter the reason was because it wasn't hot at all- completely unacceptable . He never apologized for both of our dishes being cold he just took them back to the kitchen and brought them out warmer, I imagine just reheating not remaking. My pasta dish was definitely subpar, I ate maybe five bites. My mother's chicken she said was also very bland with no flavor and she too ate only about a third of hers - even though we were all starving before the food came. When the waiter walked by he noticed I had barely touched my pasta and asked me, "do you not like it?" I replied that it was "just OK." No offer was made to give me something else or take off that meal from our bill he just walked away. I have worked in the food business myself and was amazed that no effort was made on the part of the restaurant to try and make our dinner experience better-or to at least comp something for us...even an order of the bruschetta would have shown some sort of understanding that they had made mistakes. My mother was taking us all out for a special dinner that evening and paid the bill. As we were leaving I asked her if they took off any of our meals or at least an appetizer, she replied no, they hadn't. This stunned me as I couldn't believe nothing was offered for a series of problems that happened to us that evening starting from waiting an hour to be seated than waiting another hour for food to be served then having two meals served cold. I was embarrassed that I suggested this place and my mother had to pay for a far below par dinner with not so much as a sorry for anything from the waiter or restaurant staff or manager. This is horrible customer service and we will not be returning to Guiseppes because of it. read more

Eggplant parm was very good even cooked with the skin on as I usually like peeled. The sauce here makes everything great. The bracciole is wonderful too. Coming from NY, we are use to good Italian food and this is fits the bill for usm at least in this northwest area. Tiramasu is excellent. read more

It is rare for me to give someone a 5 star rating, but these guys definitely deserve it! First of all let me state that I was incredibly impressed with the manager at this restaurant. When we were eating there, we had a small problem-- the manager went above and beyond in his handling of the situation and was so professional about everything I couldn't believe it! I didn't think such great management and customer service still existed in today's world. It is because of the way he handled the small issue we had and his professionalism and great customer service that I'm giving this restaurant a 5 out of 5-- it seems so rare nowadays to find people that go above and beyond and to do it in a professional manner is just wonderful! That is the main reason I'm giving them a perfect score. Second, however, is they have good food at great prices. So all of this combined makes them definitely stand out. Thank you for your excellent customer service, a professional courteous manager who went above and beyond for us, having a lovely outdoor seating area where we can enjoy the warm Tucson climate with beautiful views, and good food at great prices-- definitely a 5 out of 5 in my book! Our first time in Guiseppes was a great experience. Wonderful service from a fellow SF 49's fan, good food, and superb value. Who could ask for more? How about getting a little extra out of the kitchen just because they're good people? After asking about the eggplant parmesan and not being sure whether to order it or not....out comes a half order to give it a try! Along with our other entrees, et cetera, we could hardly walk!!
