Have heard my brother rave for a while now, and tonight was my first visit. He was right! The $5 Happy Hour drinks, and $8 appetizers are to die for! The big bowl of muscles in a wine reduction sauce were as good as the ones I ate on Seattle. Add to that the huge portioned, and delectable entrees, and this place is a definite go to. My husband and I stopped in for dinner this evening. The service was excellent. I had a pepperoni pizza with green peppers, my husband had the rigatoni with meat sauce. Both were very good. Friday evening 20 May 2022 walked in without reservation at 5:30PM. Was seated immediately, table for four of us. Server was prompt and we ordered. Menu is a la carte making the price of some bread ( not included), no salad and a main course expensive. Heard good things about the place and hoped the dining experience would be worth it. WOW! - we were very disappointed! We sat there for over an hour close to the kitchen/food prep area. Every server had to walk past us so they knew we were there. Food finally arrived. I am generous in saying it was mediocre. All four meals were very poor. The bill for the four of us was a bit over $80. Definitely not worth it. Will not go back. We recommend you do not go there. This restaurant is going to need to make some changes if it's going to survive. My husband and I came in at 12:40. No one greeted us so after a few minutes we sat down. We were sitting for about 15 minutes and someone came over. We did not order drinks, just water. Another 20 minutes our order was taken. No bread was brought to the table because their suppliers are charging them more, so if you want it you need to ask and it is now 1.25. My husband told our waitress he didn't see that on the menu and she said it isn't noted on the menu. 25 minutes later our food arrived. Chicken Marsala and Chicken Giovanni. In both the chicken was thin and tough. The Chicken Giovanni was heavy with the flavor of wine. Too heavy. We each had a few bites and decided to get out of there. The food was underwhelming and to be honest, not good. The whole experience today was bad. There were 12 tables/booths occupied not counting the 2 women at the bar, yet there was only 2 waitresses. Everyone was sitting there, packed like sardines on one side of the restaurant, twiddling their thumbs, waiting for someone to acknowledge them. We paid just under 40.00 for 2 bowls of barely mediocre food. No drinks, appetizers, etc. We truly wanted to love this restaurant and looked so forward to it opening, but to say that we did would be a lie. read more

I wish I could give this place no stars. We were seated right away on the patio but it took 30 mins to get drinks and only 2 drinks were brought. Another 10 mins went by before the rest got their drinks. Waited a total of an hour and 45 mins for food and not everyone got food at the same time. What did come did not look appetizing minus my daughter's spaghetti. Waste of 2 hours. Very overpriced for mediocre food. All you get is the entree. read more

Very disappointed, I ordered the chicken Marsala and when my order was delivered to my table the chicken was not cooked, I sent it back to the kitchen to have it redone. The 2nd order came out and it was the same way. I told the waiter and he sent over the manager and I told the chicken was again under cooked and asked for the check, when I received the check it was for the full price of the meal. I told them that I wasn't going to pay for something I did not eat but for a few bites. The other thing was that I had to ask for bread after my meal was placed on the table, something I feel that should have been done right when I placed my order also had to ask for butter. By the way the place only had two other customers not like they packed with people. Wait staff definitely need more training! read more

My wife and I went there for an early dinner. We ordered the "Giuseppe Pizza". It was one of a half dozen of pies they offered. Going to a restaurant that has pizza in its name, I expected a normal sized pizza (16"?) Now, I'm not going to get into the price of it...$16.99, because everything is so expensive! So I'll leave that up to you. The pie comes served on a dinner plate...A DINNER PLATE! The crust edge was 2" wide and doughy, leaving about 6" of topping in the middle. Very disappointed overall. The Caesar salad was made of all the leftover stocks. I had some kind of pork dish...the pork was a terrible piece of meat...couldn't eat it. My wife had a shrimp dish which had about 4 shrimp and the rest was noodles without the white sauce that was on the menu. I do not recommend this restaurant!!! read more

Exceeded my expectation. We arrived at early dinner time, and they had no open tables. We were seated at the bar. The bartender was friendly and waited on us quickly. Our happy hour drinks were both very good. We ordered dinner and I was very surprised by the presentation and quality. Food was outstanding. Not your typical Big Chain quality. If you like that type of Italian this may not be for you, on the other hand, if you like good Italian where the sauce is not watery, and the colors are accurate then give this a try. If they can keep this up, they have a winner on their hand. My only suggestion is to dim the lighting. It is too bright and harsh for the space. read more

I have to start by saying i think it is really unfair to give a restaurant a negative review in its first week of opening. Think of ur first week of work. Any business needs to get the bugs out to operate smoothly. I have been there 4 evenings of the first week of opening. I have ordered 4 different dinner selections. All of them were very good. Grilled pork was one favorite. Came with spinach and mozzarella on top. The chicken Marsala was weak on Marsala but still flavorful. As far as the bread they charge a $1.25 should come with the meal and be served or offered upon ordering. I always sat at the bar where Adrian and Ariana take very good care of u. Taking care of the bar and making drinks for the restaurant is not an easy task. They r nonstop and keep there cool with a smile. Josh the owner is busy helping out where ever he can. We all need to remember that most of the employees r brand new to Giuseppe restaurant business. I wish Giuseppes the best! I do believe they r going to do really well and have a very bright future here on the eastside! read more

Anxiously waiting for this new place to open on our side of town visited for the 1st time today, was greeted by a very friendly very nice hostess, a few people in the place when we got there but not packed. Was looking for a lunch menu which I guess is the same for dinner not overwhelming choices so I got the sausage Penne which was amazing so good you can taste the quality of the homemade pasta and the richness of the sauce really good dish, the wifey got a pesto chicken dish which she really enjoyed and I tried and I'm not a pesto kinda guy but I have to say it was quite delicious. The only disappointment was that there was no free appetizers offered nothing major just a lil bread and butter would have been nice because the wait was quite long anyway we would not be opposed to visiting again to try something different after all variety is the spice of life oh yeah they do have a sweet dessert menu too. So good! Nice to have an Eastside place where we can get great food at reasonable prices. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms appetizer. It was wonderfully garlicky and cheesy. Excellent. The table bread is baked in their pizza oven and has a bit of garlic butter rubbed on top of the which is a tasty addition. The Bianco Pizza was delicious. Lots of cheese and garlic. The arugula adds a nice counterpoint and allows you to falsely believe you're eating healthy. It's thick crusted goodness. I ordered the Penne and Sausage. The lunch portion is huge and very, very good. It has more cheese than a man ought to eat and Calvin, our server, brought extra fresh Parmesan to clog even more arteries. Wonderful. Kathy ordered the Manicotti. She loves manicotti. It's her favorite Italian dish. She declared it to be perfect. She is retiring soon and declared that she will be coming here every week and eating the manicotti and the pizza and the mushrooms. She paused and said, "If I just eat one meal that day and exercise for 14 hours, I should be okay." Another amazing thing was the 'side salad'. It was huge. The house dressing was sparkling and delicious. I ordered a second Penne and Sausage to bring home to the kid. We are stuffed to the brim and ate barely a third of the food. The bill came to a a few pennies over $70.00 which is an amazing deal for what is going to turn out to be six big meals. Oh, and the brewed iced tea is great. My wife and I decided to spend our anniversary dinner here and boy are we glad we did. I had the meatball ricotta and my wife the eggplant parmigiana both of us couldn't believe the flavor. The east side of Tucson needed a great Italian restaurant and they've got it with Giuseppe's. They were very accommodating to our 4 year old son as well. My daughter and I went for lunch on Thursday, May 19 around 12:00ish. When we got there, there was maybe 3 other tables being used. The bartender sat us down near the window which was fine. We sat there for at least 10 minutes with the menus with no service. The bartender finally came up and took our drink order but we never got it. He was too interested in the delivery guy that came in. The waitress came over after about another 15 minutes and said she'd get our drinks for us and she did and then we said we are ready to order. She looked at us took our menus and just walked away without taking our order. It was so weird. She kept walking back and forth and helping other customers. I finally flagged down the bartender and he took our order. Food came out semi-quick but it wasn't good. Hate to say it but I got the bolognese rigatoni and my daughter got the chicken parm. Didn't taste good at all and the chicken looked like fish, it was really weird. Very disappointed. They also forgot the bread, but were quick to give the bartenders friends bread and he was waiting on them quickly. Don't think I'll be going back, which is a bummer. read more

Had visited about a month ago with a few friends and gladly gave the restaurant a great review. The service was fast and friendly. Food came quickly and was plentiful and tasty. The meal started with a loaf of hot crusty bread - wonderful. However. Returned with the same friends last weekend. Not crowded, which was nice. Only one server though, so food came out slowly. One friend ordered a cup of coffee and for twenty minutes the server periodically returned to our table with promises of "Still brewing!" Really? The wonderful hot, crusty bread has been replaced by slices of meh bread, served cold with cold butter. Took a looooong time to be served and when the ordered arrived two of the three were lukewarm and certainly smaller than the prior visit. One friend ordered tiramisu to go, as she had the previous visit. This time the slice was about half the size and kind of plopped into a clear plastic container. Not very appetizing. I did message the restaurant and asked if the changes we experienced are permanent or were indicative of an "off" day. The response was that they were sorry, would try to do better in the future and hoped we would return. Next time I think we'll opt for Gusto's. Or maybe Olive Garden. Too bad. read more
