We live in Malibu and in Sicily- This was our first time over the holiday weekend- and it didn't disappoint! Our guests were from Alabama- and wanted Red Meat! The Chauteubriand and the Bistecca Al Fiorentina were Wonderful and each fed two persons amply! They were cooked pink medium rare. Excellent! Let the waiter select your wines- he chose an amazing Amarone that was exquisite! Also- my suggestion- My favorite way to have a leisurely 2 and 1/2 hour lunch- Start with the parade of fresh vegetable and Parma ham antipasti selections and enjoy the wine. The mozzarella is so fresh! You will daydream about the eggplant and the slivers of zucchini for days after! Relax, sit back and only Then - order your steaks! You are here to DINE... Service is wonderful. Trust your waitstaff and let them tell you what is fresh. This was our favorite steak meal during a three week vacation all over Italy. It's Way more intimate than Checcino Dal or Dal Toscana- which are packed with tourists and Instagramers. If you want a truly Local La Dolce Vita experience - come dine here.

The atmosphere, staff and food were delicious. We walked there from our hotel and enjoyed a delicious bottle of Pinot Grigio, had the caprese salad, the meatballs in marinara sauce and lasagna and it was amazing. Very nice restaurant and we'd got back. Delicioso.

Steak was amazing!! I thought i wouldn't like it coz it was a bit rare for me but it was suprisingly very very good. This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. Pasta was average but the steak was great. Service was average

This wasn't just the best experience bit by far the best food! We were craving a Florentine steak and it was absolutely delicious! We also got the fresh flat pasta with asparagus and it was beyond excellent. I wish I could eat this every day! Highly highly recommend!

Fresh and delicious old world Italian food

Stayed at the new Jumeirah and asked the doorman for a good place to eat. He recommended Girarrosto and we weren't disappointed. Great food, old world service, and friendly staff. We came in very casual and they made us feel right at home. We live near Las Vegas and wanted authentic Italian and this is it. I had the sirloin and my wife had the filet. Both were great. Try the appetizers and soups. Our best meal in Rome.

Girarrosto is an italian restaurant in The Eternal City of Rome! Based on Yelp, I think they is actually 2 restaurants with the same name, Fiorentino and something else, I called in Fiorentino. The restaurant is down a good number of steps, but they do seem to have wheelchair access as they will literally carry you up and down. (Signs of desperation or kindness?) This restaurant didn't seem busy on my visit, and the location isn't great but still it is within walking distance of the long street with many eateries, like Alex's Cafe and The Hard Rock, and close to my hotel too! They didn't have a gluten free menu or book as such, but the staff seemed to know about it, as they stocked gluten free spaghetti. I ordered a spaghetti dish with egg and bacon. I also ordered a potato dish having been told they were gluten free. Girarrosto is quite a nice, quiet place and it does have wifi if I recall correctly. My food was satisfactory, but it wasn't great or anything to shout about, simply just average. The service seemed okay, they was a problem with gluten free at first, they first said they could do it, and then when I go to the bottom of the steps they were confused and had to check, but at the end I found out this is a reasonably good place for gluten free food. Service was a little slow, but as they used "fresh water" I can understand why it was, and as long as the food is fresh, I don't tend to mind waiting that little bit longer. They was a problem with my potatoes too, they were not served with my meal, and by the time they were served, I was just about to leave and I had finished my meal, I really didn't like this as I ordered them for with my meal, and it made me wonder if they messed them up the first time. It began to take so long, I was ready to leave without them, and this really shouldn't happen in a restaurant, fresh or not, they shouldn't put anything on the menu they can not cook to a reasonable time, or at least get their timings right. I did eventually enjoy them, but too be honest I didn't even want them after my spaghetti, so it basically ruined a very nice plate of potatoes, that I would have enjoyed, they did let me take them home (as I was leaving) but with me only staying in Rome on a holiday, they wouldn't be facilities to warm them up at my hotel (unless I paid the price!) The menu isn't great for gluten free, with just it mainly being pasta based dishes like spaghetti, but still it is a nice, quiet place and the staff are great so I do feel this place deserves 3 stars, the staff could possibly get a 5 but the menu, food and food to table service was just simply average, and towards the lower end of that, so I feel I can only give 3 stars.

The service is so friendly and very fast. It was the only restaurant that gave us bread and a little dessert as part of the service. I ordered the cacio e pepe and the carbonara because I could not make up my mind and both were delicious. Both dishes I would recommend. Portions are a bit bigger than other places I had tried during my trip but the pasta is just different in Italy. It does not make you bloated.

The issue I had was that I was in a super heavy tourist area and all of the restaurants we were walking past had people outside trying to lure us in. I wanted to avoid places like that, however via Yelp I discovered Il Chianti a short walk away. While still I assumed still touristy, the reviews were great and as we approached they weren't trying to lure us in, so we decided to try them out. I take this place is very popular since I noticed a sign instructing diners for form a line as we walked up to the restaurant. However, there was no line to be found and we were seated right away. Curb appeal is lovely, they have a decently-sized outdoor seating area though we opted to sit inside. The interior is a good size and compartmentalized into different rooms. The aesthetics are mostly classic with medium to dark wood tones. The menu contained some Tuscan dishes but also several that were more common outside of the region. We decided to start with two of their apps - a cheese plate and bread with fatty prosciutto, pistachio, and honey. The cheese plate was great, I love cheese and this one delivered - there was a good variety and the plate was paired with a few complements. The bread was great - the combination of the fatty prosciutto with the honey and nuts made for a great experience. There was a small salad in the center of the dish which was a welcome reprieve from the heaviness of the app. For my main I decided to get pasta - the paccheri with tomato sauce and burrata was speaking to me. The dish was great - pasta was cooked well and all of the components were super fresh. I've tried burrata in may settings but rarely in a pasta dish - it worked well and now I'll be seeking it out more often. Service was good - everyone was very friendly and there was a good pace to the rate our dishes came out. Overall, we had a great experience at Il Chianti - in a sea of touristy spots by the Trevi, this stands out as a noteworthy option for a good meal.

This is super disappointing because this restaurant is easily one of the highlights of the family's trip in Europe. Dal Toscano's history dates back to 1938 founded and still operated by the Bruni Family. This traditional Tuscan cuisine restaurant is super popular amongst locals and is well situated in the Prati Neighborhood in Rome and a stone throw from the Vatican. While dining there, 99% customers there are locals and the staff pretty much only spoke Italian. I am suspecting that is also why so many tourists wrote negative reviews because of communication difficulties. And yes there is a little bit of pretentiousness since it's a white table cloth experience geared up towards the working executives in the area. As for the foods they are best explained as "heavenly" as the bistecca and the pastas are really darn good. Despite the sanitary scare we will definitely be returning when we are back in Rome.

This is very much where the locals go. We were there for lunch and it was clear who were the regulars. Google reviews are mixed because the tourists don't seem to get a consistent experience. There are reviewers who say they got treated bad because they're asian. Well, maybe they deserved it...I know how asians in restaurants can be. I'm asian and i was treated and served very well, but i spoke to them in Italian the entire time; they knew we were clearly not locals. The food is ridiculously good and i felt i was treated well.
