This restaurant is a short walk from the Forum. We were looking for another restaurant that we found on a previous trip but it was closed today so we found this place just around the corner. It is a cute little restaurant tucked into an alley with a nice amount of tables outside under umbrellas. Unfortunately they were all full so we ate inside but that was perfectly pleasant. The service was fairly good, strongly decent for Europe standards, and we never had to wait long for anything. I had the gnocchi with truffle and it was fantastic. 10 out of 10, no notes, full stop.

We were treated rudely and charged a 6.00 service fee and then asked to tip10.00. We have not experienced this in all of Italy. I think it was the manager who helped us, but he was more worried about charging us more than he was with providing us good service. The place is beautiful but not worth the price we were expected to pay. Very dissatisfied.

Angelino is hands down some of the best carbonara in Rome. This is such a nice place to eat...and they have an amazing wine selection. We had the deep fried artichokes and they were delicious. Topped the meal off with gelato, and my wife had lemon sorbet...and of course 2 cappuccinos. The staff is friendly and helpful. This is a place to put on your list. For lunch and dessert and cocktails the bill 110 euro with tip...not cheap but worth it.

Thank you for the best dining experience in Rome! We were unsure about coming based on some of the reviews, but this was hands-down the best eating experience we had all week. The food was phenomenal and the location could not be beat. This felt like a well hidden secret just steps from the bustling city and tourist fare. This establishment values service and an un-rushed dining experience - so if you are trying to rush through the latest tourist meal, then go someplace else. This is an authentic dining experience with servers who are attentive but who will not rush you in order to turn over the table, quaint ambience in a tucked away alley, and delicious high quality food. Looking back on our four evenings here, I wish we had discovered this place earlier as we would have just kept coming back each night! We will be back the next time we have the opportunity to be in Rome.

My favorite place so far in Rome. Serving up great food and authentic Roman sold since 1658. First off, we made the choice to eat out on the sidewalk. this seemed like the thing to do at lunchtime, is pretty much everyone else make the same choice. It is a picturesque and quiet spot very near the heart of ancient Rome. I love the little side streets around the restaurant. We ordered a Angelino appetizer. I would highly, highly recommend ordering this appetizer. I'm not even sure what everything was but everything was delicious. One fried and seasoned dough ball, another with greens, and some kind of peppers stuffed with cheese. Everything on this appetizer plate was so good. I had a simple pepperoni pizza. Crust was very thin, but the pepperonis were very large, and the taste was outstanding. My son had the cooked lamb plate with potatoes. It was well cooked, but could have used a bit more seasoning. Love this place. Can't wait to come back here again someday.

My husband and I dined in this restaurant during our honeymoon in October. Hands down, this was one of our favorites in Rome. The restaurant itself is in a cute little square (Piazza Margana); so it isn't a huge tourist trap. I wish I could remember the name, but I really enjoyed the pasta with guanciale, topped off with shredded truffles. The pasta was perfectly cooked and all the ingredients in the dish balanced everything out! It was so good that I had my husband promise me we'd go back before we left Rome. My husband had the lasagna; and bolognese the second time we came. His only critique was the lasagna pasta was a little too over cooked for his liking - it was more mushy than that nice texture with a slight bite to it. Desserts were very good as well - we had the tiramisu and panna cotta. Both times we dined in, the service was awesome. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. The first night we were there, our server spoke very little English and we spoke very little Italian (lol); but that wasn't an issue at all! In other restaurants, there were times where we noticed servers not really wanting to deal with us cause of the language barrier. Overall, I'd definitely come back to Angelino's. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is how my pasta was cooked the second time we came back. I ordered the same dish (pasta with the truffles) and I'm sure they rushed making it. The oil separated from the cheese and it made the texture of the dish not as great as the other. It was very close to closing that night, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in Rome again!

Amazing pasta, focaccia, and service. When there was no more aperol left, our server went to the next door restaurant to borrow some more. The gnocchi and cacio e pepe were to die for. And we got free tiramisu!! We will definitely be coming back next time we are in Rome!

This place is that neighborhood gem of a restaurant that is a best kept secret. But I can't but help gush about the food here. Hubby and I found this place by coincidence and it was worth getting off the beaten path. Right off we noticed that this place seemed to attract a higher end clientel who seemed to have a discerning palate. We started with the clams and muscles with tomatoes and basil. This had to be one of the best starters we have had in Italy. The broth was so delicious that I did a very unladylike turn and slurped that sauce up. And I have absolutely no regrets. It was DELICIOUS. I ordered the swordfish with tomatoes and capers Scilian style. My hubby ordered the seafood mixed plate. Both dishes were worth their price and then some. My husband's dish came with everything - salmon, shrimp, trout, tuna, squid, etc. It was a delight to taste every flavor and seafood sampler. My swordfish was very flavorful and very well cooked. I liked that it had a crust but was tender. And it was a huge cut. This dish was in my opinion shareable. We had the lava cake and hubby had an espresso that he said was chocolatey and complementary to the lava cake. Service was mediocre leaning towards bad. I think they are not use to getting tourist and may not care for them (us). I think our waiter tried toake up for taking so long with our wine and dessert by giving us limoncello. Nice but it's not the service I'll come back for. It's the delicious dishes.

    Was great time!!!

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

So happy we did as this place definitely delivers. There is seriously like 8 tables in the dining room so expect a wait in line but trust me, it's worth it. We waited outside for about 25 minutes. They do take your order while in line so the wait for food (once you do get a table) is abbreviated. Out of the world pastas and the pistachio tiramisu is seriously out of this world. Inexpensive table wine rounds out a great meal. This is the type of place I love to go to. It's quaint, zero pretense and delivers on its food. A great find!
