The beet salad, arancini, and spicy mussels were all delicious and would recommend. I was nervous to go to such a nice place with my luggage in hand and dressed a bit casually, but from the moment I walked in, they were the warmest staff ever. First, they checked my bags for me so that I didn't have to keep them at my table. Then they gave me the front section of the restaurant to myself so that I could have some quiet and go at my own pace. They also gave me the world's best server, Tayla, who went above and beyond every step of the way. She put up with all of my particular tendencies and made sure I had everything I needed, down to my individually wrapped straw, and helped me balance the heaviness of the meal I was about to partake in. When I ordered the rigatoni, I even asked her exactly how many ounces of sausage came with it. When she told me it was three ounces, I explained that I needed a minimum of six ounces of protein with my meal. Without missing a beat, she helped me augment my dinner by adding a six-ounce chicken breast. Not only did that give me exactly what I needed that evening, but it left me with a fully prepared meal for the following day--which was especially appreciated since I was staying in a city that didn't have quite as many snazzy food options. I was so impressed by her service that I made a point of speaking to Jay, one of the managers. I told him how they had completely turned my day around and that I was so impressed by the thoughtfulness of both the food and the staff that I would be certain to return. He sat down and spoke with me for some time and even asked me to try a new mocktail they're working on that was made with something called "brush." I had never heard of it, but not only did he educate me on the topic, he made me a fan of something totally new. Then, when he learned that I had stopped by CVS to pick up iced coffee for the following morning, only to discover that they were closed, he went out of his way to send me off with espresso shots in a to-go cup so that I wouldn't have to scramble the next morning to find coffee. So incredibly considerate! It was an especially meaningful gesture because I was heading to a city where the coffee shops didn't open early enough for me to get what I needed and still be conference-ready. 10 out of 10. Everyone must visit Nesso!

What a perfect excuse to go back and verify that my first experience was no fluke! They impressed again with what could be the best calamari fritti I have ever had. The calamari itself was melt in your mouth tender and the breading was both light and flavorful. The lemon herb aioli? On point! The first time I ate there, I ordered the branzino - which was amazing. Tender, flaky, and mild with the perfect crispiness in the exterior. Everyone who ordered it on this second visit raved about it. For my second visit, I branched out to the carbonara which was as beautiful on the palate as it looked in the bowl. A perfect crunchiness of the pancetta counterbalanced the tenderness of the pasta which was prepared to a perfect al dente. I reviewed a carbonara from a different restaurant earlier this year and now have an apples to apples comparison that heavily favors Vicino. Service was outstanding despite being very busy that evening and the interior had a nice modern chic appearance - if that matters to you. What matters to me is the food and Vicino is now 2 for 2 in providing an experience that will definitely bring me back again!
